Late August Update: Join us this weekend for a Full Moon that should be epic. The river is at its 100% peak best summer quality. Very warm and PERFECT for lounging, floating, kayaking and snorkeling (20 ft visibility or better).
A few details about our sites in the general camping area: Sites 1, 3, 8,9,10,11 have 13x20 shade sails, 2,4,5,6,7 have 10x13 shade sails that are also weatherproof. For larger groups, I recommend any of the sites with the larger shade sails as they have a bit more space than the others.
Enjoy the nearly direct access to the CO Canal Historic Park and the kid friendly, serene stretch of the Potomac River we border. Choose from 11 similar sites available for your camping pleasure in our clover filled bottomland as well as our Hilltop sites for maximum privacy, exclusivity and star gazing potential. The surrounding old growth forest makes for a great hiking and biking as well as a very accessible and kid friendly cave to explore. All sites now have either 10x13 or 13x20 shade sails available to keep the afternoon sun at bay: recommended.
We have two kayaks on site free of charge. We have some life vests, but if you have your own, bring those along. The river's main beach located between sites 7 and 8, is shaded/filtered sun all day long while our smaller beach at site 1 is sunny most of the day and affords some of the nicest river lounging via a rock ledge that spans
4wd or All Wheel Drive are recommended. If it's been relatively dry, single wheel cars are 100% fine. We have ways to mitigate most weather events.
Please pre-order firewood and/or shade sails via a message to me when booking your stay and save the 18% "booking fee" or add them via the "extras" section for your site so I can have it waiting for you. $40 buys you a long night's ++ burn worth of well-seasoned hardwood. Cash venmo paypal zelle all accepted upon arrival. If ordering firewood using the "extra" feature, 1 load is $20.00 which is a 1/2 nights supply. Order 2 if you want a full night/morning supply. This is a great spot for mountain bikers and river lovers. So close to snowshoe and affordable makes this an easy decision. Also the wildlife, flowers, and river on the property make this a truly powerful place. There is some traffic and noise from the road but it quiets down through the night and all you can hear is the trickle of the stream.
We have a lovely 20 acre are that has easy to pull up to camp sites and some that take a short walk but are able to camp right near the river bed. We offer camping for all ranges of groups and travelers. We have campsites for tents, cars and vans, big RV's and Trailers, and then group sized sites. Please contact us and we can accommodate you in any size or style. We have cheap options for the solo and travelers on budgets and we have some nice options to get furnished tents and private fireplaces, with private river views and beach/play areas.

We are 10 minutes from the Potomac River, 10 minutes from Opequon Creek, 20 from Antietam Creek and 30 minutes from the Shenandoah River. Harper's Ferry is 30 minutes way and downtown Historic Shepherdstown is just down the road.
We are also close to several state parks.
- What do we mean by "RUSTIC" ?
The camping experience we offer is about unplugging from the modern world , getting back to basics, slowing down and re-connecting with the land. Simply put, this is CAMPING .... not glamping. (Our Cosmic Cottage is also rustic, despite the amenities that come with it).
- CAMPSITES and TREEHOUSE - No electricity or wifi on the land. Campsites and TREEHOUSE are nestled in the woods. So although your vehicle will be parked within 50 ft or so from site, you cannot pull directly up to the site and get any closer because of the trees.
- SHOWER and PORTA POTTY - roughly a 5 minute or less walk from sites to shower and / or porta potty. Shower hours are 8 am- to 8 pm. The shower has hot and cold running water . You can drive to the shower if you need to.
- RESPONSE TIME - This is a working herb farm/ sanctuary and we so do not always have our phones on us. We will make every effort to respond to you within a few hours. Please be patient and you will receive a response.

(heads up.. the woodland medicine path goes to seed by the Fall and is usually munched down by the deer by then, but is still a nice short stroll in the woods).

Want to see 5 star panoramic views of the Appalachian Mountains? This ultra-safe, ultra-private property is located only 10 minutes off interstate 77. There is only one farm past ours so road traffic is very minimal. Plenty of room to do what you and your pets want to do while exploring our 60 acres. The sun rises up behind the view and lets you see just a little further. It is nothing short of amazing. The sunrises are always different and some are the most beautiful you have ever seen. The mornings sunrise and the stars out here on a clear night are two of the best things this mountain has to offer. It will not disappoint. We can accommodate up to a 35ft RV. The best part is no long walks, you can park at the campsites and camp on flat ground. Each campsite features chairs, a bench, a swing and a camp cooktop that is fueled by your campfire. Nothing is needed to use the cook tops other than a campfire. The local area has lots to do. Several National Parks, rivers and trails. View stars as only those miles away from any light can experience. The crickets and whippoorwills will sing you to sleep. Google link, trail map, and campsite location map will be emailed the day before arrival. The onsite Porta John is cleaned every month.
Prior to the first family inhabiting this gravel road it was used as a bird sanctuary. To this day, the entire road maintains one of the most diverse displays of Appalachian aviary wildlife.

Step outside your tent and enjoy natures bounty —outdoor activities including fishing, kayaking, hiking, bird watching are all at your fingertips and much more. There are 300+ acres of public land less than one mile away with miles of ATV and hiking trails and stocked ponds. If you're a fan of waterfalls just 4 miles down river is Arden Falls, one of our areas best kept secrets. The Tygart Valley River is one of the top kayaking rivers in the country. Audra State Park is less than 20 minutes away with lush forest trails with caves to explore. Well known hiking trails such as Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, and the Dolly Sods are all within an hour drive. Go to Nelson Rocks for the ultimate climbing experience on the Via Ferrata.

This was a super great spot! We had one neighbor the first night and then had the whole place to ourselves, but the sites are well spaced and have greenery between so even if there were other people it still would've been pleasant. Having flush toilets at a campground is unheard of levels of luxurious, and the general store down the street really does carry a little bit of everything.
The entrance is truly *right* before the bridge, so it's a little deceiving the first time in as there's a gravel road slightly sooner that you'll want to take. Other than that instructions were super clear!

Had a wonderful stay at Site 1. Excellent and spacious site. Paid for the sail shade and firewood and both were worth it, Greg really delivers! Beware the washed out road, which really does require clearance/AWD. Also note that the shade and heavy dew mean the site tends to be on the soft/muddy side of things.

Another beautiful stay at Taylor’s Landing. This time during the full moon and lunar eclipse. Climbed to the top of Hilltop for a nice view. Nothing but clouds, moonlight, warmth from the fire, and stars.
Found many butterflies drinking Thistle nectar. Black and blue, orange with brown spots, yellows and black. Walked the well laid paths of the C&O canal pathway under the sycamore trees, and even found some ripe Paw-paws and a beautiful owl. Followed some deer trail down to streams and embankments and managed to see 4 doe, and later a separate pack of two bucks (3x3s from the quick glance I got). The river was higher than last time from the recent rain storms. Even got to watch some lightning.
It was a lovely time. Greg and family continue to check in regularly and keep the whole site spotless. We will definitely be back again.

Second time camping here. The sites have nice separation with some beautiful tall flowers around each site (blooming in late August) so you can barely see anyone else. Bathrooms were absolutely SPOTLESS. No cell signal, as noted. Very quick ride to the store in Seebert, and takes me about 45 minutes at a medium pace to bike to Marlinton. Sites are nice and level and heavily shaded.
Walk right over to the river and go for a swim. This place is seriously awesome. Went the last Friday in August and only 2 other guests camping there.
This campground is on my regular rotation list for bike trail camping. THANK YOU STEVE!

When they say the water on the river is warm in August they really mean it it's like bathtub warm. It is very calm even after it rained, we just sat in inner tubes and went kayaking for a couple hours. Before that we hiked down the path in the cool forest along the river.
This site is great it basically has every kind of campsite you could want. Tents on top of a hill next is bring your own tent camping then down below are picnic sites next to the forest and the river. Lot of space to enjoy.
The top area is easy to get to with a low car. If you had a lower car with a spoiler wouldn't go by the tents / river. Very quick easy walk from above though.

Had a great time at Stoney Creek Campground! The area was beautiful, peaceful, and well-maintained. It was very spacious (for cars and multiple tents) and the river access was a dream. The staff was friendly, and the whole experience was relaxing and enjoyable. Definitely a great spot for a getaway—I’ll be back! 🏕️❤️

Recommended for families, 10/10. Great river access with fishing opportunities within the camp and lots of activities nearby.
Owner Vince is very accommodating and does a great job of communicating everything you need in advance. He’s also present on site if you need anything. Lots of firewood and a coffee station that’s open 24/7.
