Cabins in West Virginia

·

West Virginia is "Almost Heaven" say the lyrics of "Take Me Home, Country Roads," and if your idea of an outdoor adventure involves mountain views, lush rivers, and cascading waterfalls, you'll find it in the Mountain State. Epic hikes? Check in to a mountain cabin or chalet near Harpers Ferry, the gateway to the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, or snag a rustic cabin rental in the Monongahela National Forest or Greenbrier State Forest. Big thrills? Try rock climbing at Seneca Rocks, ziplining in the New River Gorge National Park, or whitewater rafting in the Gauley River National Recreation Area. Many West Virginia cabin rentals are available year-round, so choose a cozy cabin with a fire pit or a luxury log cabin with a hot tub through the snowy months (December through March). Blackwater Falls State Park and Canaan Valley State Park both have two- to four-bedroom cabins with ski resorts and snowshoe trails.

Abrams Creek is like camping in a nature preserve, rather than in a commercial campground. On our campground, there are no generators, loud electronics, or other things that would distract from appreciating this pristine natural environment. And this is always a great place to beat the heat! We havea mountain climate; the peak temperature most days in the summer is in the high 70's or very low 80's, and at night, temperatures go down to about 60 or lower. You'll be breathing cool, clean, fresh mountain air all day long! Hot showers are included, 24/7! We are located in the mountainous Potomac Highlands region of West Virginia. Our vision is an environmentally conscious, eco-friendly campground developed in harmony with nature. We are not only a business, but also serve as an anchor for others who want to live more simply and close to the earth. The concept of rural revitalization means reinventing rural life so that it is economically sound, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally satisfying. With multiple campsites, car camping, and remote primitive sites, there are plenty of options for your next adventure. Located on 600 acres, we have developed the previously used agriculture land into a trail center in hopes of transforming the property from an underutilized farm into a facility that could support local outdoor recreation use and programming. Currently there are 14 miles of purpose built trails, with plans to install up to 30 miles of natural surface trails that will create access to and feature the natural beauty of the property, which includes open meadows, mature hardwood forests, rock outcroppings, an area of volcanic activity, seven freshwater springs, headwater streams (including Brook Trout habitat), and three distinct knobs. These features provide a rich and unique landscape for a trail system. With so much here, there is no need to leave the property. But if you’d like, we are sandwiched between the Monongahela and George Washington National Forests. An outdoor enthusiasts dream.
