This is a true "dry cabin" experience (no indoor plumbing), perfect for guests seeking peace, simplicity, and wide-open space. You'll have your own private stretch of lake, miles of scenic views, and access to quiet hiking trails right outside your door. The Space The cabin is cozy and thoughtfully equipped for a comfortable rustic stay: • Double bed • AC • Coffee, tea, paper plates, and foam cups • Standard refrigerator, mini fridge, and microwave • 5-gallon water dispenser • Camp shower bag • Outdoor grill and fire pit for cooking and relaxing under the stars Outdoor Experience • Private, stocked lake with bass, channel catfish, and bluegill (catch and release) • Swimming and fishing just steps away • Expansive wooded property with plenty of room to explore • Incredible sunset views and stargazing Important to Know • This is a dry cabin with no indoor plumbing. • Guests use a clean, well-maintained two-seat outhouse. • Please bring appropriate supplies for a rustic stay, such as a flashlight and mosquito repellent. Pet-Friendly Paradise Dogs are very welcome and will love the open space, trails, and water. Privacy and Comfort The cabin sits on land that has been in my family for over 50 years and was formerly a Girl Scout camp, offering a unique and peaceful setting. I'm nearby if anything comes up, but you'll have plenty of privacy during your stay. A contact number is provided in the cabin for your convenience. Please note that the road to the cabin is unpaved and can become muddy. Wonderful Retreat

1000 Miles from Nowhere Cabin

Had an amazing time getting away from the city to this wonderful oasis. Host was very helpful and accommodating! You can tell the whole place has thought put into every detail. Had everything you need to get off grid and enjoy nature. Absolutely recommended, can't wait to go back!

Really appreciated this simple almost primitive cabin in a time of much needed meditation. Stars, walks, fishing, and nights around a fire. Go around to the back patio and youll find a hammock and fire table. Alot of history and things to check out. Wildlife and much more. If you love being in the wilds and would appreciate electric too. This is the place for you. Generous and attentive host. Hope it stays wonderful and rustic!

We would 100% recommend staying here! The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It was secluded while still being close to all the areas we wanted to explore. It was clean, thoughtfully furnished, and felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. We’d love to come back during the colder months to enjoy the indoor fireplace. The host was incredibly kind and accommodating throughout our stay. He provided firewood and water, which was greatly appreciated. The bathroom was well-maintained. You may even see a deer walk by as youre doing your business! If you’re lucky enough to have good weather, the private lake is a huge highlight. The water was warm and small boats were available for guests to use. During our three-night stay, we saw an amazing variety of wildlife. There are also trails nearby for you to walk! The back porch was one of our favorite spots to relax. If you’re not in the mood to build a fire, there’s a propane fireplace, a hammock, and plenty of comfortable space to unwind. It was the perfect place to sit back, enjoy the scenery, and soak in the quiet surroundings.

This is the best Hipcamp I’ve been to, the ambiance and decor in the cabin was perfect it is secluded no one will bother you here. Down the road is the lake, caught 4 bass in 15 minutes and chilled in the paddle boat. It’s West Virginia at its finest and the owner is so nice and accommodating! I’ll definitely be back and will keep in touch.

Magical Cabin Retreat in Nature!

We booked this cabin nestled on a vast, beautiful property, and it completely exceeded our expectations. The cabin itself was thoughtfully designed with a whimsical charm that made the entire stay feel magical and cozy. The surrounding land was incredible — expansive trails winding through untouched flora and fauna, leading to peaceful streams and giving the whole place the feel of a private national park. One of the highlights was being able to explore it all with our dog, which made the experience even more special. Our host was exceptionally gracious, communicative, and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We truly felt fortunate to experience such a peaceful and unique getaway, and we’re already looking forward to returning again soon!
