The mornings sunrise and the stars out here on a clear night are two of the best things this mountain has to offer. It will not disappoint. We can accommodate up to a 35ft RV. The best part is no long walks, you can park at the campsites and camp on flat ground. Each campsite features chairs, a bench, a swing and a camp cooktop that is fueled by your campfire. Nothing is needed to use the cook tops other than a campfire. The local area has lots to do. Several National Parks, rivers and trails. The Byrd's Nest is a river front, primitive campsite on the scenic Cacapon River in Great Cacapon, WV. The property is very secluded, but only 2 hrs from D. C. and Baltimore. The space can accommodate 5 tents comfortably or a few small campers (w/o hookups). Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or/ contribute to it! :)
This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out.
There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :)
*Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable.

Property was owned by my great grandfather , He lost 150 acres in the early 1900's due to a bad debt from neighboring landowner. Was so happy to be able to repurchase the 150 acres back in 2016,now own the original land tract and added more. 250 acres in total. Portions were strip mined around 1978-1982 creating some flat fields and access to all property. I might add that strip mining if done properly can and does enhance the property. Ponds were built to catch runoff and several new animal species moved in waterfowl ,muskrats, and beavers. The beavers have constructed large dams on property further adding to the beauty. Have seen several bald eagles on and around the property.

The space can accommodate 5 tents comfortably or a few small campers (w/o hookups). Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or/ contribute to it! :)
This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out.
There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :)
*Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable.

Gesundheit! resides on a 320-acre pristine tract of farm + mountain land in rural West Virginia with gardens, meadows, creeks, waterfalls, a lake, clean air + water. We have more than two miles of trails through a beautiful hardwood forest ensuring your stay will be spent in close proximity to nature.
Campsites are equipped with fire rings, access to clean drinking water, an outdoor shower + a composting toilet just a short walk from the sites.
We offer fishing, canoeing, hiking, guided hikes, plant + mushroom walks, guided tours of the Gesundheit property, buildings, plus much more. We also grow many seasonal vegetables that are available for purchase during your stay. Ask us about availability when booking!
The Gesundheit! Institute was founded by Patch Adams, M.D. + continues to function as a nonprofit focused on community health initiatives. We host many educational workshops throughout the year so make sure you check out upcoming events on our website at patchadams.org !
The beautiful Greenbrier River (the location of our favorite swimming hole) is a 5 minute drive down Locust Creek Rd + a 2 minute drive to the historic Locust Creek covered bridge. The small town of Hillsboro (birthplace of Nobel Prize winning author Pearl S. Buck) is 5 miles away with a restaurant (The Hillsboro Public House) + two gas stations. We are surrounded by the Monongahela National Forest with many state parks available less than a 15 minute drive from the property. There are many remarkable places to see while you're visiting; Cranberry Wilderness area, Watoga State Park, Bear Town State Park, Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park, the Highland Scenic Highway + a little further North up 219 is Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort; a favorite for skiing + snowboarding, mountain biking, music (4848 Festival) + many other outdoor activities!

Property was owned by my great grandfather , He lost 150 acres in the early 1900's due to a bad debt from neighboring landowner. Was so happy to be able to repurchase the 150 acres back in 2016,now own the original land tract and added more. 250 acres in total. Portions were strip mined around 1978-1982 creating some flat fields and access to all property. I might add that strip mining if done properly can and does enhance the property. Ponds were built to catch runoff and several new animal species moved in waterfowl ,muskrats, and beavers. The beavers have constructed large dams on property further adding to the beauty. Have seen several bald eagles on and around the property.

We’re located along two miles of riverfrontage, deep in the heart of the Monongahela National Forest. Winter brings great local skiing and snowboarding. Come and spend a quiet weekend in your own heated cabin, complete with pellet stoves. Spring and summer bring fishing, tubing, hiking, the WV Mountain Rail train rides, and many more outdoor activities. We are a great retreat any time of year!
We have facilities available year-round, comfortable cabins complete with heat, a full kitchen, hot tubs, and bathroom facilities, perfect for a getaway. Campers are welcome to use our heated bath house in winter.

Abrams Creek is like camping in a nature preserve, rather than in a commercial campground. On our campground, there are no generators, loud electronics, or other things that would distract from appreciating the sights and sounds of this pristine natural environment.
And this is always a great place to beat the heat! We have a mountain climate; the peak temperature most days in the summer is in the high 70's or very low 80's, and at night, temperatures go down to about 60. You'll be breathing cool, clean, fresh mountain air all day long!
Hot showers are included, and all sanitary facilities are *sterilized* between guests. We have taken every measure to safeguard your health!
We are located in the mountainous Potomac Highlands region of West Virginia. Our vision is an environmentally conscious, eco-friendly campground developed in harmony with nature. Pablo and Lorena were extremely accommodating during our stay at the casita of love! The tree house stay are was so charming. The beds were comfortable and the lights in the cabin created a very cozy environment. Sitting out and having dinner by the fire pit was definitely a highlight. Pablo & Lorena were very welcoming & made sure we were comfortable even offering extra blankets for a cooler night. Overall it was a great place to stay off the beaten path for our weekend trip out to Berkeley springs!

My dog and I enjoyed a lovely early April retreat at the Love House. We had everything we needed for a relaxing and magical stay despite one very cold night. The electric blanket was a welcome amenity! While I did not get the pleasure of meeting Lorena, I did get the chance to chat with Pablo a few times. He is friendly, responsive to needs and had info about the area. It was clear that the comfort of guests is important to him. While they were close by and accessible, the cabin felt private and relaxing. The location is convenient to local recreation opportunities. I bet the nearby river is a treat in the warmer months.

Our stay was great! Sites were far enough apart for privacy plus plenty of room to play a few rounds of bacci ball. Having the store right there on the camp ground was a huge convenience plus the private bathrooms were definitely a change of pace for us camping. Andrey came by and checked on us to make sure we were well accommodated. 10 minute drive from the Paw Paw tunnel trail. We'll definitely be coming back again.

Weekend Trip to Casita Of LOVE (Panhandle WV)
Maybe our favorite vacation in West virgina so far. We were celebrating our daughters 8th bday who passed in 2020 and we were greeted with the most amazing cake. The place was amazing and clean. Large pile of wood for a fire. The outdoor shower was hot and easy to use. A large grill and fire pit for cooking anything we needed. The house had cute decorations everywhere and we noticed more as the trip went on. A short trip to the river that we had to ourselves. Lots of outdoor seating for around the fire or just relaxing. Pablo and Lorena were so incredibly friendly and gave us good recommendations for the area. Very easy to talk to and were very responsive before and after we booked. The kayak trip was perfect. Made us feel like we were at home. Cute art and s'more bag gifts. Nothing bad to say about this place or the hosts.

Three nights at this secret spot were just what we wanted. Peaceful quiet. Beautiful birdsong. Delicious air. Privacy. What a find! Our family of four plus our mountain dog. The dog enjoyed his freedom although he sticks close to us regardless. The mountainous windy road was an
adventure all by itself! Amazing views. We were often above the clouds. Not too far from the new river gorge park. A little drive. We had hiking adventures galore and got to return to our serene spot . Loved it.

Definitely an underrated spot. Vince is a wonderful host who has put much thought into the campsite. It’s quiet, well maintained, and has so much personality. Since it was somewhat on the cold side when we visited, we are going to come back in the summer so we can try out their beach!

Although I rented site B3, we actually camped in site C4. Upon arrival, Vince was having some work done on some adjacent sites, and offered to let us pick any site we wanted. We picked C4. Everything was great about the stay. I hadn't camped since November, so it was great to get out under the stars. The campground is peaceful, right along the river. The nearby town of Parsons was nice to visit, and we ate at a few local restaurants. Every single person we met was friendly and welcoming. I would camp here again.

Great spot just outside of Harper's Ferry! Matt was awesome and very accommodating (he definitely helped me with a few things I forgot to bring). Fun little cabin with windows showing off all the scenery. He even has coffee in there which is always important. I would absolutely stay here again!

This place is magical. Pablo and Lorena are communicative, kind and generous hosts. You can feel the love they poured into this beautiful glass house. There are views of the surrounding nature from absolutely every angle, including above you! It's private and perfectly equipped with all the luxuries you need while still maintaining the connection to nature that you would get from camping. Hot outdoor shower and very clean outhouse are a bonus, for sure. I enjoyed cooking my meals outside and just sitting by the fire and reading after a long day of hiking in the nearby Cacapon State Park.
Although I didn't have the opportunity to go, there are also kayaks available for a nearby trip down the river.

What an amazing spot to spend time in nature and enjoy what West Virginia has to offer! Vincent was awesome and so kind🙏 One could stay on the campground for the time there and have some much to explore and just take in the beautiful stream!! Can’t wait to enjoy in the summer, as it a place we could visit again and again! Close to town and close to BlackWater Falls State Park. The campground was spacious and the perfect spot for a weekend getaway away!

Amazing views from all the campsites. We loved being able to purchase wood on site and not have to worry about carrying any. The swings, bench, fire pit and picnic table were also a great plus for a family with kids like us. We will definitely be back!
