My grandparents, Donald Clayton Russell & Jewel Geneva (Davis) Russell, purchased this little piece of heaven to get away from the hustle and bustle of Cincinnati life. Judy was born in a little cabin just down the road. Judy & Don along with many family members have made cherished memories here over the years. We want to share its beauty with you and your family. Please consider, Clayton Geneva is a primitive campground, gravel drives and left as natural as possible. This is not a sculpted campsite or a concrete campground. The primitive area is as such, gravel, grass, sand terrain accessible by a one lane gravel drive that leads over the hill and around the cliff to the riverbank. This drive is absolutely passable however is left bumpy to keep traffic at a safe speed as pedestrians also walk the drive. It is passable by any vehicle as long as the vehicle is not overloaded beyond its ability and/or has an extremely low profile. Any area that is not an actual campsite is left to nature, not manicured, trimmed or sculpted. As you’ll find all the sites are clear please don’t expect micromanaging of wild growth of our native plants in areas around the sites as we reserve those areas for the wildlife to enjoy. Please consider all the above mentioned details, primitive campsites are not for everyone and that’s ok.

We are about 85 acres, surrounded by hundreds of acres of national Forest, located about 2 minutes from the Sheltowee Trail, and approximately 30 minutes away from Cave Run Lake, and 30 minutes from Carter Caves State Park. The cabin is off grid, but has a generator for heat and Air conditioning. The outside toilet is close to the cabin and has a "Wash up" area. There is also an outdoor shower on the property just a short walk away, down behind the host's garage, that features hot water. A great place to relax and detach from the stress of society for a few days, or hike, hunt, or head over to Cave Run Lake for some fishing. Tranquility and peace await you here.

Our lodging features treehouses, yurts, a bunkhouse, retro camper, water/electric hook-ups, and campsites. We also host weddings, retreats, and other events so advance reservations are required. For insurance purposes and the safety of our own livestock and pets, we do not allow guests to bring their pets/ESAs onto the property. Prepare to UNPLUG as we do not have cell service or wifi (there IS a landline for guests to make phone calls located in the Community Farmhouse). All guests from tent to treehouse have access to our solar-powered Community Farmhouse featuring a fully-stocked chef-inspired kitchen, restrooms, coin-op laundry, and upstairs multi-purpose room with a library and board games. There is also an outdoor kitchen area with additional cooking space including a grill, microwave, and sink (sink is closed in the winter so the pipes don’t freeze). Next to the Farmhouse is a massive pavilion with picnic tables for al fresco dining and firewood bundles to purchase. BRING CASH! Our seasonal bath house is generally open from April or May to October or November based on the prevailing temps. There are 4 flush toilets, 2 sinks, and 2 hot showers. The floors are concrete so we recommend shower shoes and you'll want to bring your own towels and shampoo/soap. The farm has a small playground, yard games, creeks, and a steep and rugged hiking trail that loops the mountain. We're also just 8 miles from the hiking trails at the Berea College Pinnacles, 8 miles to Owsley Fork Reservoir, 20 minutes to Anglin Falls, 12 miles to Berea, 35 minutes to Richmond, Ky, and a scenic hour to Red River Gorge. For other activities, restaurants, shopping, music, and more, we're happy to share our favorites, but highly recommend checking out the Berea Tourism website.

I keep pricing here super low as a reflection of Buddhist service to sentient beings in need of peace and safe haven. Meditation onsite. Guest cabin with 2 beds, linens, water jug, device charging, electric; Buddhist shrine with 4 soft Japanese tatami floor beds, electric, device charging, water jug; limited level tent camping with large group fire ring, 1 small rv (<24ft) allowed with no electric. Camp toilet on site. Composter available for vegetarian food waste. 7 gallon water jugs available for handwashing and pan washing, just use biodegradable soap. Although there are no showers available to campers/guests, I can provide a large washing jug. Plenty of hiking is available at LBL, just 8 miles away. I can provide intel on good fishing and backcountry spots. There is fantastic antiquing and thrifting in Cadiz and Murray, and I can introduce you to the Amish market for the most affordable groceries you've ever bought in your life. I love to cook for people especially if it's a group. It'll usually be vegan chili con carne and skillet cornbread, Korean chajangmen, or some tasty variety of Asian seasoned vegetable soup with homemade bread. I am ovo-lacto vegetarian except in cases of hunting guests offering their own catfish, bass, venison, boar or turkey, in which case I fire up the bbq and get busy, because hunters are essential for environmental preservation. The fire ring is available for traditional cast iron cooking. Dogs under 50 lbs are welcome if they're trained, you clean up after them, keep them leashed around guests and kenneled at night. I have 2 small dogs and I can kennel them on request.

The property is wonderful! We caught blue gill and bass in the pond and got to enjoy a campfire at night. The beds are very comfortable. There is no microwave just so you know, but there is a coffee pot in the cabinet just bring your own coffee. Otherwise the kitchen is nice and also the outdoor grill. We thoroughly enjoyed our little stay!

This was our second time staying at the exquisite Harrican Lakehouse and it was just as magical as the first! The setting is picture-perfect, private, serene, and tranquil. What makes this place truly special is how incredible it is for the entire family—our group ranged from 2 years old to 75 years old, and everyone (including our pup!!) had the absolute best time. Our days were filled with fishing, kayaking, and swimming, starting with peaceful morning coffee on the porch and ending around the glow of the firepit telling stories. Bridgett and Aaron have an amazing eye for detail and comfort. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, and there is just so much more that makes this place feel like home. Bridgett and Aaron are welcoming, highly communicative, and incredibly helpful. We will most certainly be back for a third time!!!

Weekend Trip to Hones Pointe Campground

The Cottle Cabin was wonderful. It was very clean and has comfortable sleeping space for up to six people. The downstairs bedroom features a cozy queen‑size bed, and the loft area provides additional sleeping space that’s perfect for kids, teens, or anyone who enjoys a tucked‑away, cabin‑style place to sleep. The cabin has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The front porch is perfect for sitting outside and listening to the wildlife, and the campfire area—with its sturdy picnic table—made our evenings especially enjoyable. The host is incredibly accommodating, checks in to make sure you have everything you need, and is available if anything comes up. If you’re not interested in tent camping and don’t have an RV, this cabin is the ideal alternative. We’re already looking forward to returning in the fall or winter to enjoy a fire in the woodstove.

I can't say enough about this wonderful experience! Upon arrival, the host, Brigitte, greeted us with her sweet dogs! She was so pleasant and welcoming! The house itself sits on its own little pond/lake which has kayaks/canoes for use. At night the bullfogs were the most peaceful sound! We enjoyed exploring the grounds and the tranquility of the setting. The beds were comfortable and the house nice and tidy. I would highly recommend this spot!

Absolutely amazing little lake house! It was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The home was cozy, peaceful, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was incredibly helpful, kind, and responsive throughout our visit. We truly enjoyed our time here and would definitely return in the future! A helpful tip for future guests: the lake house is about 30 minutes away from the nearest stores, so it’s a good idea to plan ahead and bring any essentials you may need. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and a great getaway!

Weekend Trip to Backwoods Hideaway

If you're looking to get away, unplugged, reset this is the place. Absolutely beautiful, tucked away in a holler. First thing we all noticed was the thought the host put into our stay. It was put together in a way even the kids wanted to leave it the way we found it. When they say all you need is your favorite pillow or blanket, they mean it. The host was welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Very respectful as far as privacy. Also, more than willing to offer assistance if asked. Sitting next to the fire, listening to the creek flowing, the fireflies, the sounds of the whippoorwill, it all made for a whimsical stay. One which we will plan again.

If you are looking for seclusion and off the grid without interruptions. This is your place. I would say they have dogs that greet you at the entrance and chase your car. So if you have a very reactive dog like we do it wasn't a good experience. Once you get past that it's awesome. I would say it comfortably sleeps five people.

Weekend Trip to The Harrican Lakehouse

We loved our stay at the Harrican lakehouse. It is so secluded and quiet making it a great place to unplug and unwind. It rained most of the weekend but we didn’t care, the large covered porch kept us dry and was the perfect spot to relax and watch our dog play in the lake. My advice about the property: it is remote so pack in all the food you need. A trip to town will be take a while. The house does have steep stairs that lead to the bedrooms and the only bathroom in the house. We didn’t have any issues with it, but it could be an issue for those with limited mobility. Overall, this is a great, unique place to spend a weekend (or longer) if you are looking for a peaceful and quiet place to relax and unwind. I would highly recommend.

We stayed during some intense rains, and to be honest it only made the experience that much better! The cabin is tucked off in the woods about 25ft from the fire pit and picnic table. It was quiet and peaceful. I look forward to staying again!

I stayed at the secluded riverside cabin and it was awesome! Patrick was so friendly and accommodating. This Hipcamp had so much to offer…bathrooms,showers,kayaks and so many styles of “roughing it”. Also close to a variety of outdoor activities and parks. I would definitely stay if I ever am back in the area

Cozy and secluded little cabin was a perfect stay for the night while passing through. Heard owls at night and woke up to bird song in the morning. The provided generator was a nice touch, though we didn’t end up using it.
