Judy was born in a little cabin just down the road. Judy & Don along with many family members have made cherished memories here over the years. We want to share its beauty with you and your family. Please consider, Clayton Geneva is a primitive campground, gravel drives and left as natural as possible. This is not a sculpted campsite or a concrete campground. The primitive area is as such, gravel, grass, sand terrain accessible by a one lane gravel drive that leads over the hill and around the cliff to the riverbank. This drive is absolutely passable however is left bumpy to keep traffic at a safe speed as pedestrians also walk the drive. It is passable by any vehicle as long as the vehicle is not overloaded beyond its ability and/or has an extremely low profile. Any area that is not an actual campsite is left to nature, not manicured, trimmed or sculpted. As you’ll find all the sites are clear please don’t expect micromanaging of wild growth of our native plants in areas around the sites as we reserve those areas for the wildlife to enjoy. Please consider all the above mentioned details, primitive campsites are not for everyone and that’s ok.

Property is 15 minutes south of Cincinnati, close to the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG), close to restaurants and attractions such as Kings Island (approximately 1 hour), Creation Museum (approximately 25 minutes) and The Ark (approximately 25 minutes). Also nearby are several state parks and local favorites such as Big Bone State park, Rabbit Hash,and Riverbend. We have 2 dogs who walk with us on leash and recently added chickens and goats! Elmer and Clyde do like to wander and explore. They are very friendly. Learn more about this land: Gravel driveway leads up to both spots. We do try to keep it maintained, but frequently rain causes ruts faster than we can fill. It should not impede drivability, but use caution and feel free to ask if you have any concerns. #1 improvement planned is paving driveway. You may also experience some vehicle noise from roadway. Typically, as we are on a back road, it is fairly quiet but some drivers may be louder than others and some evenings see more traffic. Level gravel area for RV parking, second plateau available for multiple tent sites. Campfires in designated area. Deer, wild turkeys, opossums, crows and raccoons are plentiful and often wander through. Less common are foxes and bald eagles that make their home at Doe Run Lake nearby. Main home on property but only close enough for assistance, not interference. Property is close to Creation Museum and the Ark. 10 minutes from restaurants and expressway but feels like a retreat. Ask about special discounts if visiting these attractions. Discounts also available for single parents & military. Included: Wi-fi, trash, private area for camp toilet, fire ring, water, and extension cord electric. Grill & patio table at site 2. Available in extras: Camp stove, fire wood, tent and chair rentals. Please be considerate and do not drive behind the house. There is no safe turnaround past the house parking by the deck. Our remote 375 acres part farm and part natural woodland nestled up to Daniel Boone Forest is ideal for hikers and nature lovers. There are several hiking trails onsite and plenty of woods to explore. ATVs or side by sides are welcome to be used on the main gravel roads and some designated areas of our property. There is plenty of wildlife but NO hunting is allowed. Some of our designated tent sites do have firepits and/or picnic tables. Our trek in sites do not have those options. Pets are welcome for $10 per pet/per booking and they do need to be leashed/under control at all times. This is an extra so please be sure to add that if you plan to bring your pet. Please pick up after them. We are a short driving distance from West Liberty, Cave Run Lake, Grayson Lake, Carter Caves, Morehead, Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge. Nice quiet peaceful stay. The other reviews mention roadway noise, but the sites are quite elevated and the noise, even with all windows open was minimal, even less at night. The deer were plentiful! Shade or sun, fire ring, even a pop up potty was available. I would def visit again! The host mentions 4x4 recommended, I agree. But worth it :) Met Eryn as she walked her pup. Friendly and nice of her to check in and offer wifi. The road leading to the property is winding, with no shoulders, and locals can go fast, fair warning if you're not used to it. Thanks for the stay Eryn!

This is the cleanest, safest, neatest, coolest camp I have ever stayed at. The amenities and time taken to make sure comforts and extras were in place was an Exceptional Effort and Much Appreciated. Fire ring, table, and space is a given...how about a swing, games, covered area for Rv and/or tent, full bathroom and shower setup, wood supply, kitchen table and grill, WATER AND ELECTRIC provided! Hammocks and dog runner...lost of apace! Superb! Close enough to The Red River Gorge area and LOTS of hiking and adventure to be had. Cannot give enough Thumbs Ups! Amazing! Already planning another trip in the fall! Excellent host with clear and easy instructions! 10/10 Recommend!

I really enjoyed staying at this location. I went with my two dogs; Zuko and Tsavo. My boys absolutely loved the place. I was nervous at first because it was my second solo camping trip however the hosts were very responsive! The site was clean, easy to find, and I felt off grid- yet also reassured that there were others close by if I needed something. I seen two different types of owls! One was a barred owl and the other (who was as nosey about me as I was about them) was an Eastern Screech owl. I enjoyed listening to both species at night, they were very social and probably suspicious of me and my dogs. I enjoyed swinging by the firepit and reading my book. It was a much needed trip! Thank you both for sharing your space!

I had a great stay Lightening Bug Landing. Host was very nice and welcoming. Even though the road was close, there is very little traffic after dark. It didn't bother me at all. I see a deer meander through my campsite, and a turtle had coffee with me in the morning. They do have a steep driveway, but I made it through just fine with my little car. I would come back again!.

Beautiful area, tons of things to do in nature, and the campground was very private and quaint. Jamie and his family are wonderful people and I would definitely recommend staying here.

The campground was quiet. There were a lot of chickens and roosters running around. You could hear them crowing in the mornings. There were a lot of birds because they have well used bird houses everywhere. You can watch goldfinches and barn swallows of plenty that you could watch fly in and out. There were owls that you could hear at night. An eagle flies up and down the river occasionally. There are also quite a few deer that wonder in. There is a waterfall in walking distance if you don’t mind a slight hike. Rabbits were rather plentiful too. There is plenty of room to walk around. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately we didn’t get to go canoeing due to all the flooding around Kentucky right now. It was nice to watch the river moving though. The down side, in a way, was the lights. They have security lights that are pretty bright but as long as you block all the windows at night (close all curtains) it is nice. It sounds amazing at night! The light, as I said is very bright. It was very quiet too and we were there from Sunday to the following Sunday. No loud parties and whatnot. There is some junk and whatnot sitting around but it isn’t distracting. It’s also not where you would trip over it so to speak and not near the water. The hosts were incredibly nice and helpful. We were able to sit and talk with them in the shelter. There is plenty of room to explore and for any kids to play. There is some things for kids to play on and disc golf baskets.

We had a great camping trip at Patrick’s. Staff were fun to talk too and get ideas about local attractions. Bathrooms and showers were always clean and had warm water. Our family chose a primitive camping site near the river and enjoyed privacy and quiet. Two of the days we were there had rain and we were able to hang out and dry out a bit under the main barn. Would definitely recommend the location as long as no doubt exists about ability to attend. Grandparents weren’t able to attend as per medical reasons and received no refund as per the policy.

3 nights at Boone Valley Campground

My family loved the campground, everything is well laid out and a lot of care has been taken with the structures and campsites. All sites are well spaced apart. The playground is really neat and bathroom facilities were very clean. There have been campers that haven't been respectful to the property so be careful of broken glass around some rv sites. Bring bug spray!

Weekend Trip to Deer Haven

We had a wonderful and peaceful time. We camper for two nights and found the site to be clean and welcoming and as described. We were able to buy some firewood and enjoyed a nice campfire. Eryn was very welcoming and helpful. Her sites were located very will within a short distance to attractions and conveniences. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area.
