This ecological art project is currently recruiting visitors to camp in beautiful fields, on woodland rim sites, or at delicate campsites located along a system of woodland trails. As of 2026, camping here provides a glimpse into the 5th year of succession, which is characterized by spacious views of a gently rolling young prairie that is flanked by the rocky and steep slopes of a mature forest.
Pet friendly and most likely a good fit for self-sufficient types that like campsites with generous spacing, but still want to get out to the park quickly (~7 miles to the Visitors Center) or travel into Cave City (3 mi) for coffee/ice-cream/pizza/barbecue/bar/food/etc. Expand from the campsite into a sketch-work of trails, as if camping near the headquarters of a satellite nature reserve.
All sites except Spicebush have a filtered water output. Spicebush campers will have water access next to parking.
Camping funds allow us to plant trees (~530 seedlings as of March 2026), establish prairie grasses and flowers, restore wetlands, create trails, and remove invasive species.
A nice way to experience Mammoth Cave NP is to break the trip into 3 layers, covering the underworld (cave tours), upper world (hiking), and the water that connects the two (Green River). Mammoth Cave is unique in the way that a study of the underworld will repeatedly draw the mind into a creative space where we imagine what is beneath the surface and how these worlds are linked, while above ground hiking on land or kayaking on the ecologically rich and biodiverse Green River. Kayaking the Green is elemental; like unplugging from one world, pure nature immersion. We offer kayaks (see extras), that leave from camp, tailored to your schedule.

You will drive 2 miles down a chip sealed road and then almost a mile down a dirt road past where the public road ends. Stay as connected or as disconnected as you want. Our farm offers the perfect escape from the day to day race of life. If you want to get away come spend a few days with us!!! We only allow booking of one camp site at time to ensure your privacy. Upon arrival there are 2 sites to pick from(see map in photos section). Camp firewood available for purchase at the barn on your way in. Signs are in place to take you to camp sites from the address that you will receive upon booking. Can't wait for you to come spend a couple nights with us!

If you are looking for a place to camp this summer in Warren County, look no further. Here at the Old Martinsville Trail Camp, we are offering several camp sites for your family and friends to enjoy. Our property is over 23 acres of forests and open meadows and borders the West Fork of Drakes Creek. Between our upper and lower fields, you can still walk along the old horse and buggy trail that led to the “lost city” of Martinsville.
No matter where you choose to camp on our property, everyone has access to enjoy the creek and hiking. We ask that you be mindful and respectful of other visitors on the property who might be staying during the same time. The creek is a common area, and we don’t allow tents to be set up on the gravel by the water’s edge – only along the borders of the fields or in the wooded areas.
We are just fifteen minutes south of Bowling green and only a ten minute drive to the closest gas station and Dollar General store. We don’t offer Wi-Fi and cell phone signals are very spotty at the creek. You might have to go to the end of the driveway to get a signal, or potentially the end of the road. I hope you find the disconnect from social media peaceful and relaxing. Should there ever be an emergency, we are at the house if you need to use our phone to call 911. We don’t offer our bathrooms for use, however, so be sure to bring a camping toilet if you prefer. We don’t care that you use the bathroom on the property, but please be mindful of the location and don’t leave trash on the grounds. And we ask that you bring a shovel to bury waste or take it with your trash.
Our camp spots are primitive with no running water or electricity. No fire pits are provided, but are allowed. We don’t provide fire wood, and you have to check with local fire departments to ensure there isn’t an active burn ban. During active burn bans in Warren County, we do not allow fires of any type.
Remember to bring your own pest control such as Off! or mosquito spray. We try to keep the grass around the camp sites cut back. Watch out for snakes in and out of the water this summer, especially around wooden brush piles.
Pets are allowed if they are friendly and sociable. Only have them on leashes if there are other dogs around unless they get along.

We loved staying at Riney Farm! It was a short 6 mile drive from I-65, making it convenient for a stop for the night, which is what we did. I only booked the site two hours before our arrival. It's a pull through site with a wide area in which to turn out upon leaving. April warned us about their peacocks being loud at night since it's their brooding season, but they never once disturbed us. I would come here again if I was passing through the area.

As beekeepers we were excited to find Bee Springs Kentucky and Bee Happy Campground. Roomy camping sites though our camper is only 16 feet there were bigger ones there with plenty of room. It was clean and quiet and Christie is very responsive. The clear night sky made for some great stargazing and pictures on top of the hill.

Loved this site! We arrived after sunset and our host called and offered us mag lights if we needed them. It is so nice and dark you can see soooo many stars! We arrived and just stargazed for awhile, we stargazed both nights actually. Our hosts were so nice! Super close to Mammoth Cave National Park! It looks like there’s a lot to do in the area, different caves and what not, unfortunately we didn’t have time for all those. I wish I took more pictures too.

2d is the best! We had such a good time and are definitely planning a return trip. All the glamp sites are amazing if you want to stay in a structure instead of a tent. Our R/V spot was amazing and we enjoyed having the showers right there next to our site. We enjoyed playing in the river, fishing, running around in the fields and watching for all the wildlife. We absolutely loved our stay! We booked here for the location convenience to all we wanted to do (national parks and Lincoln’s birthplace). Campground is well kept, the playground was right next to site 12 which was perfect for our two toddlers. Our girls loved seeing the cows, plus we got to see some foxes, and a variety of birds.
Owners were so kind and helpful throughout our stay! 10/10 will go again!

The Cave Tour was awesome! The hiking trails are mostly just nice trails through the woods. There are trails to sinkholes but unless you're really into geology, the Cave is the most exciting part!

Reservations are online or by phone only. And signal is not very good once you arrive. Put toilets and trash bins are available. And big camp sites for $50 a night. A bit pricey in my opinion.

Houchin Ferry Campground
Someone was set up in our spot when we arrived but the park ranger was very helpful and was able to give us an area to camp by the pavilion which worked out great.

Mammoth Cave is a great place to visit! Make sure to see more than just the cave, you also want to make time to see the Green river as well as the amazing trails that are around.

Mammoth Cave Campground
The camp was wonderful. Went early June, amenities were clean and well kept, showers and laundry available on site (requires quarters). Cave tours were a lot of fun. Perfect for a group camping trip!
