Lake Perry Campground was established in July, 2024. We are located just outside the main gates of Lake Perry. Lake Perry is a private, gated, lake community that is only accessible by lot owners and their guests. Lake Perry Campground offers 17 full hookup sites consisting of public water, 70 amp electric, and public sewer. 9 sites are pull through lots that are 25' wide x 35' long, and 8 back-in lots ranging from 25-60' wide and 30-100' long. Two buddy lots (camper & tent) are available as well. We also have 1 tent lot with 20 amp electric and water.
Completed in August 2025, is a 30' x 50' pavilion with restrooms (2 toilets) and (1) floor to ceiling tile shower in each restroom. A tankless hot water heater was installed for endless hot water. A seasonal bar & grill operates on the weekends and sometimes more serving canned beer, mixed drinks, premium wines, and adult slushy drinks such as the nearly famous Perrywacker. There is Starlink wifi and an ice vending machine on-site 24/7. Also available late winter/early spring 2026 is a 400 square foot studio cabin featuring a 12x16 deck, bedroom, full kitchen, full bath, and a kitchenette/bar. (Sleeps 4)
We are 5 miles from Mark Twain national Forest, as well as multiple conservation areas with creek access. Several wineries are nearby through scenic backroads. (Charleville, Twin Oaks, Sand Creek). Bring your SXS's for days of backroad riding that spans 4 counties (Perry, Ste Genevieve, Madison, and Bollinger). 1855 Campground is 45 acres of private property, dedicated to the natural Ozark experience. We border the Mark Twain National Forest, enjoy the outdoors at its best. Our space offers 7 large campsites to provide privacy & serenity.
Site 1, Little Brushy Creek with parking.

Site 3 Bills Hill, located high up in the woods.
Sites 4 & 5 Walnut Grove, large flat grassy sites in a meadow with wildflowers.

Lake Perry Campground was established in July, 2024. We are located just outside the main gates of Lake Perry. Lake Perry is a private, gated, lake community that is only accessible by lot owners and their guests. Lake Perry Campground offers 17 full hookup sites consisting of public water, 70 amp electric, and public sewer. 9 sites are pull through lots that are 25' wide x 35' long, and 8 back-in lots ranging from 25-60' wide and 30-100' long. Two buddy lots (camper & tent) are available as well. We also have 1 tent lot with 20 amp electric and water.
Completed in August 2025, is a 30' x 50' pavilion with restrooms (2 toilets) and (1) floor to ceiling tile shower in each restroom. A tankless hot water heater was installed for endless hot water. A seasonal bar & grill operates on the weekends and sometimes more serving canned beer, mixed drinks, premium wines, and adult slushy drinks such as the nearly famous Perrywacker. There is Starlink wifi and an ice vending machine on-site 24/7. Also available late winter/early spring 2026 is a 400 square foot studio cabin featuring a 12x16 deck, bedroom, full kitchen, full bath, and a kitchenette/bar. (Sleeps 4)
We are 5 miles from Mark Twain national Forest, as well as multiple conservation areas with creek access. Several wineries are nearby through scenic backroads. (Charleville, Twin Oaks, Sand Creek). Down stream from Castor River Shut-Ins sits this secluded yet easily accessible campground. It is right on the water which is clean and has good fishing. It's very quiet at night with almost no light pollution for stargazers. The sunshine hits the camp area for essentially the entire day. It's a good place to catch some rays! 10/10 would recommend. The owner is friendly and accommodating as well!

Everything went well!! It was our second visit and our first time of the season this year. We had problems getting our electric working right and they helped us figure that out. Then, they noticed our water was leaking a lot where we had it hooked up so they helped us fix that which made our water inside the camper flow better than it ever has. We also went horseback riding. It was a super fun time. Our horses were great and our guide, Jonathan, the owner, was awesome! Had a great time talking with him. Everyone tha we talked to was super nice! We will definitely be back!

I went camping on spring break with 6 of my friends, it was some of our first times camping and we loved it! The owner was very nice and communicative, the showers weren’t working while we stayed but that wasn’t a huge deal to us and he notified us in advance. Very secluded and peaceful! We just spent a fantastic weekend at Sinking Creek Ranch, and it was the perfect family getaway. We stayed in the Maple Haven yurt, and it was impressively spacious for the four of us.
One of the best parts was the "glamping" convenience—walking into a tent with the beds already made and ready to go was such a luxury. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the portable AC/heat unit did a great job keeping us cozy during the chilly nights and cool during the warmer days. Having a fridge, microwave, and Keurig right inside made the mornings so much easier with kids.
The vibe here is pure quiet seclusion. Our two young boys had a blast playing in the creek (which was about ankle-deep near the bathhouse and knee-deep a bit further down), which gave my wife and me some much-appreciated quality time together.
The hosts truly went above and beyond. They were extremely helpful, even lending me a tool I’d forgotten at home so I could remove my car's luggage carrier. Their local recommendations were spot on—they pointed us toward a great fishing hole and a perfect swimming spot just 10 minutes down the road.
The absolute highlight: The first night under the stars. The sky is incredibly dark out there, and seeing that many stars reminded me of growing up in the country. If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-equipped escape, this is it. We can’t wait to come back!

Great location. Excellent Host. Great for camper’s that like peace and nature. Forget the state parks and overcrowded RV parks.. This is the place to be and it’s clean and on the water.

We really enjoyed camping at Cheryl and Mike's property! They were wonderful hosts and provided us with all the firewood we would need for our stay and even gifted us a dozen eggs from their chickens!! It was very private and quiet with beautiful forests all around. We explored Elephant Rocks, Johnson's Shut Ins and Taum Sauk Mountain. The surrounding towns of Arcadia and Ironton are very nice too. I would highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a quiet, secluded camping spot!!

We questioned there not being a bathroom and the manager quickly addressed it and had one dropped off. Nothing but a clean and beautiful camp site and the manager was so friendly! We LOVED it

The hose was great! There was not a toilet on the site like listed so they had a porta potty brought right to our site. They were very helpful and kind, also brought us firewood. The site was beautiful, right on the river. We had a great time!

Absolutely wonderful secluded camping, this place offers showers and all sorts of activities if you’re interested in that. While we didn’t do any extra activities the campsite alone had a wonderful view over the lake. We brought our own kayaks, but if need you can rent those at the office too! The fishing was absolutely fantastic. I caught more fish than I did all last summer in one trip. They’ll bite anything but I had the most luck on a swirl tail. We will definitely be back!

I loved so much about Jonathans land. Every employee was extremely helpful and kind. All the farm animals were well kept, land was extremely clean. Best campsite showerhouse ive ever experienced. Jonathan guided our first horseback ride and was so knowledgeable and patient. The puppies were a special happy bonus and my kids favorite part! We will come back during the summer when all the extra amenities are opened. I highly recommend this place, and it deserves all the positivity and blessings possible.
