This is an enormous property with multiple secluded sights available. All primitive, but water and electric are available at the central parking area for free to have a quick phone charge or refill your water. We do have an STR cabin at this location (please do not disturb the renters) You will not be anywhere near them at your campsite though. Otherwise, There are no neighbors, no noise, no traffic, just wildlife and peace! Please let me know if you prefer a hammock setting, tent pad or a pull through camp slip. We have all 3 upon our 700 acre farm! We do have hook up sites available for an additional fee. We have to pay for the electric and water for these sites so please help us keep the option available by respecting the fee for this amenity. IF YOU NEED HOOK UP electric/water, PLEASE ADD "additional guest" for a one time- $20 fee. This will cover your expense to use the campgrounds hook up slips instead of a primitive site, should you change your mind. And let us know through messages that is your wishes. 👍🏻 We ask everyone to pack out what you pack in and do not damage the trees with knives or axes! (Because it has happened) The property is gated and ask that everyone keep the gate closed entering and exiting. We are 12 miles from the nearest store, so be sure to plan for stops before visiting. Dead limbs can be used for fire, only build fires in the fire rings. Do not burn metalTake EVERYTHING you bring in back out with you! This includes your wipes/toilet paper/garbage.

We have 3 pull/back in sites on gravel pads. 30 amp and 50 amp hook ups with water hydrant. There is a full bath house with stand up shower, sink and toilet within a few steps of the camp slips. No septic hookup! Water and A fire pit on the site. The property has plenty of walking trails, creek and wild life. But there are insects! (Flies, ticks, etc) USE protectant. Please be respectful of our property! Pack out what you pack in. We have horses, chickens, and Labradors. We ask that you look and pet if they allow, but do not feed them. The property is gated and must remain closed after you exit/enter each time. The driveway is traveled two directional. Be sure you are able to back up if needed, it is one lane only. We also take tent campers, offering a primitive site ($30) and a cabin cottage with full amenities for the glampers. Check out all of our listings!

Horsin' Around Cottage

This very private forested palisade places you remotely in the hills of bourbon country. With hundreds of acres to explore as far as the eye can see in all directions, enjoy the quiet, no neighbors and no worries atmosphere. Hike the trails, pet the horses, play disc golf, plan a kayaking trip on Rolling Fork River, 5 miles away, lounge in a hammock by the fire, or take a nap! Comfy camping ... that isn't really camping at all. This is your guaranteed “never want to leave” stay!!! This property is engulfed by hardwood and red cedars. The gravel driveway is secured by a gated entrance, that we leave closed. We have picnic tables outside with a fire pit to enjoy while watching the horses graze. Inside: 1 plush queen bed with linens/pillows, 1 sectional sofa for extra guests (no linens provided). Fully stocked kitchen. The detached bathroom is connected to the cottage beneath the porch 10 feet from the entry, it offers two showers, sinks & toilets. The Bathroom has a separate entry to promote the rustic experience and simplified lifestyle. Towels are provided within the cottage. You'll find dozens of rainy-day games in the coffee table and bookcase. We share this property with our guests openly during your stay- Explore it! Just shoot us a quick text if you have any questions about any of the area's access points. Trails are easily identified, you can use our map as a guide, but use google earth or an app to coordinate your location, just in case, it is a large property, but... maybe you want to be lost on purpose!!! Of course, the heart of KY is horses and Bourbon. The Bourbon Trail of New Haven and Bardstown, voted Americas most beautiful city is only 20 minutes away, see our globally known distilleries. Distances: Vernon Douglas Nature Preserve- 5 miles. Log Still Amp- 9 miles. Elizabethtown- 12 miles. Fort Knox- 20 miles. Downtown Louisville or Mammoth Cave National Park are less than 1 hour away.

If you are looking for a pristine, remote, boondocking stop, this is one of the best. You are nestled safely behind a gate, with views of horses and beautiful wildlife. The bathhouse has two immaculate half baths with high shower heads for those tall folk, and water pressure that will keep you talking about the shower long after you've left the site. Oh, and if you arrive receiving severe flood warnings, have no fear - the site is up high, safe from rising waters. If we find ourselves in Kentucky again, we will certainly be return guests.

The property is very quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed some pretty sunsets. The bathrooms were very nice with excellent water pressure. We woke up one morning and had a couple fawns playing around the tree line, which was fun to watch. I also moved a boxer turtle out of the road, so keep an eye out for wildlife on the road up to the property. We did not have any issues with ticks around camp. The grass is mowed. My wife and I will definitely stay here again.

I arrived late and had a hard time finding the carabiner. It blends in very well with the rest of the chain. The place itself was nice. The water in the shower didn't stay hot for me even though they said it was instant heated water. I got to see the horses.

Gypsy is very kind and the accommodations are great! I appreciate that there was a full bathroom and a place to charge my phone. I will say…keep an eye out for ticks, I slept in the hideaway spot and found more than 10 on me at one point. Use the showers to do a tick check every day.

I camped overnight in my small travel trailer. It was great having an electric hookup. The clean and very new bathrooms and showers were much nicer than I expected at a campsite. The property is beautiful and very quiet and a great place for stargazing. I can't wait to camp there again!

True definition of secluded in nature. Was able to get in the creek and follow for miles all directions. Crystal clear waters flowing from up top and all the history it carries with it! Nothing but the sounds of deer calls for bed down, owls, the wind and the trees speaking to you, and stars at night. It was definitely a heavy feeling to have to leave, but I can’t wait to get back again this season and do some more exploring. I will say this is a primitive campers advantage for sure. The wind up in the mountain can cut and rain can come in at any moment. Temps about 10 degrees or so colder than actual. I prefer cold weather camping myself but if you’re not confident in your primitive skills, I’d stay to the warmer months. All in all, can’t wait to get back to this 125 acre beauty. Thank you for sharing what you have with us!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the property. Tucked away in the woods beyond a vast field, it offered a serene retreat, especially during the evening and into the night. The sounds of nature were a symphony as deer gracefully stepped and squirrels darted through the crisp, colorful leaves, truly capturing the essence of fall. The fire pit and picnic table added a wonderful touch, perfect for relaxing under the stars. The host's communication was exceptional, with clear directions that made my arrival seamless. As my first Hipcamp stay, Gypsy set high expectations for future experiences. Without a doubt, I would return and highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone seeking a tranquil camping experience, whether for a night or more. This trip was a trial run for me, and my only regret is that I couldn't extend my stay. I'm already looking forward to coming back, hopefully soon, and better prepared. My brief stay at Gypsy's property, though shortened by unexpectedly cold nighttime temperatures, was a valuable lesson as it was my first solo motorcycle camping trip and overall first solo camping experience. I gained many insights for future adventures.

Extraordinary Space!

Spectacular cabin in a wide open peaceful and private location. So well appointed inside and out. Comfy and cozy and we lacked nothing! Gypsy and Kyle were always accessible and accommodating. Corn Hole, Disk Golf practice baskets, horses outdoor seating and fire pit. Even wood provided! We’ll be back when it n the area.

Absolutely perfect! I stayed 2 nights with my kids and we had a mini trailer with our popup tent on top. Gypsy was very welcoming and attentive. The drive back to the sites is gravel and accessible for any vehicle. There's trails around and many things to do nearby. Verizon mobile service was great. I will definitely be back! Bug spray and tick preventative is a must have, like any other camp trip.

I loved my stay with Gypsy! The site is clean, comfortable and secluded. There are trails you can hike down, wood, a firepit and stone picnic table. The mosquitoes aren't really a bother, being from Wisconsin, ours are mutants. She is a wonderful person! She also invited me to help feed the catfish in the pond. They were adorable.

Great site. I didn't camp in the Hammock Haven because I was in a tent and the level ground was mowed grass. Only issue I had was the instructions said the gate was blue. It's been painted black.
