One of my favorite things about Beardsnest is how much variety there is amongst the different campsites. If you want to enjoy the open sky and swaying grasslands, you have Backcountry Rim, Frisbee Field and Hickory Field. If you want to have a fully immersive and magical experience, there is Spicebush, waiting for you at end of the winding path that leads you down to the forest floor, where you find yourself in a world all your own. We had an amazing time at the frisbee lawn spot in our camper van! Awesome sunsets, beautiful meadow flowers, giant mowed lawn so many options to park depending what views you want with a long cord for power.
Kevin was so knowledgeable about the ecosystem on his property and the surrounding area. You can tell he puts a lot of love into his space
We did the kayak tour, Kevin dropped us off at the Denison ferry kayak landing and picked us up a couple hours later at the Green ferry landing. The water was moving fast so we just floated down the river. It was great!
He was super communicative and we had fun chatting with him

My experience at the Hickory Field Campsite on Kevin’s land was exceptional. His directions were clear and the information he provided regarding the site was right on. I had such a lovely and peaceful night enjoying the campfire and the scenery. Additionally, Kevin’s friendliness and welcoming nature made me feel so content and safe while staying on his land. His 3 pups were also a highlight!!

We did tent camping at the Spicebush site and it was awesome! Kevin was such a helpful and gracious host and the campsite was beautiful and tucked away in a what felt like a magical forest. The walk down to the site is on a lush trail that takes about 10 minutes. If we are back in the area we will definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Kevin's Frisbee Lawn. It was the perfect location for the 3 days we were exploring the Mammoth Cave area. Kevin gave great recommendations of things for us to do in the area, he and his family are extremely friendly, and are very accommodating hosts. We appreciated the ease of getting to the campsite, the amount of seclusion/privacy the site offered, and the accessibility to amenities like the power hook-up. We enjoyed our peaceful evenings cooking on the campfire and watching the lightning bugs. Most of all we were happy to be contributing to a good cause. We would definitely stay here again.

This spot is such a treat! Very close to the national park and to town, yet secluded enough to relax and thoroughly enjoy being outside. Kevin is hands down the best host I’ve encountered so far! The field is very well maintained, not buggy or swampy, and is a dog’s paradise. I will definitely be back.

You just won’t find a better place to set up camp in the Mammoth Cave area. Kevin and his boys are the BEST hosts and the land is absolutely beautiful. Don’t even get me started on the sweetest doggos you’ll ever meet!

Had a fantastic at the Backcountry Rim at Kevin's property. The property was fantastic. They keep everything in great shape and it's a super relaxing, quiet, peaceful, beautiful location. Great views of the prairie and open sky to see the stars at night. Kevin and his boys were exceptionally accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. They even delivered firewood to the campsite. Kevin gave us several great suggestions for activities in the area, was super responsive, and great to chat with. They offer kayak rentals and were able to spot us and pick us up for a 3-hour float on the green river. Highly recommend. They made sure we had everything we needed and made sure we had an enjoyable experience. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into their work at the property and that makes it a great place to stay.

Good experience! Beautiful fireflies lighting up the night. This particular campsite was pretty close to the house so not super secluded. Kevin was a great host! There are a few dogs on the property which were super friendly, but in case you are bringing your own pets that’s definitely a factor. We were originally going to bring our two dogs but one of my dogs can be reactive so I’m grateful I by chance didn’t bring him and risk any bad encounters with the local dogs.

Kevin met me as I drove up the driveway. He is polite and will help you with any of your tourist activities if you need it. I had a busy sightseeing plan in place prior to arrival. I was off to go caving. I highly recommend taking him up on the kayak offer for a morning or afternoon float down the river if your day is not packed. The sunset across the field is worth slowing down to view. I walked through the lower forest in the morning and scared all the Wild Turkeys, his dogs even joined me for part of the walk. I was the only camper midweek and he checked to see if I was okay with the dogs being out in the field. This was a great place to pitch my tent for a few days, much more peaceful than a typical campground.

Great location and beatiful property! Spent a night with my pups trekking north to Wisconsin. Host Kevin and his son and dog welcomed us and showed me around with a firepit prepped for use.

My partner and I decided to do a last minute camp trip to visit mammoth caves, and since the park itself ran out of tent sites, we booked a stay here. IT WAS SO WORTH IT. Such a wonderful secluded spot in the middle of such beautiful nature. Kevin was such a great host and greeted us on arrival. The campsite itself is about a 10-15 minute hike, and Kevin was kind enough to show us the trail and tell us all about the plants and wild life inhabiting the area. It’s a great quiet spot and a must if you are looking for an escape. Highly recommend.

Kevin was a great host, he provided a lot of options of what we could do on the land as well as at Mammoth Cave National Park. Being so close to the Park is also a great plus for this site as well.
If you are looking to make your way to Mammoth Cave National Park, this campsite is a must.

This place was perfect for us & our pup! He loved running in the field. The location couldn’t have been better with the closeness to caves & attractions. I couldn’t hear any road traffic at all and we got the best nights sleep!
