Clayton Geneva Camp Ground began as a retreat for our family since the 70's. My grandparents, Donald Clayton Russell & Jewel Geneva (Davis) Russell, purchased this little piece of heaven to get away from the hustle and bustle of Cincinnati life. Judy was born in a little cabin just down the road. Judy & Don along with many family members have made cherished memories here over the years. We want to share its beauty with you and your family.
Please consider, Clayton Geneva is a primitive campground, gravel drives and left as natural as possible. This is not a sculpted campsite or a concrete campground. The primitive area is as such, gravel, grass, sand terrain accessible by a one lane gravel drive that leads over the hill and around the cliff to the riverbank. This drive is absolutely passable however is left bumpy to keep traffic at a safe speed as pedestrians also walk the drive. It is passable by any vehicle as long as the vehicle is not overloaded beyond its ability and/or has an extremely low profile.
Any area that is not an actual campsite is left to nature, not manicured, trimmed or sculpted. As you’ll find all the sites are clear please don’t expect micromanaging of wild growth of our native plants in areas around the sites as we reserve those areas for the wildlife to enjoy.
Please consider all the above mentioned details, primitive campsites are not for everyone and that’s ok.

Hones Pointe was established in 1988. It was built by four insurance agents to elude our sales managers so we could enjoy a unique natural setting. Over the years, we have planted many different varieties of trees and perennials to observe. Also evidence exists of this area being an Indian camp long ago as suggested by arrowheads and an old handmade rock wall.

Weekend Trip to Camp Escape
Staying at this site was truly one of the most if not THE most relaxing bnb experiences I’ve had. I thought it would be a bit further back on the property but it is still just perfect. Everything was so cozy, the temperature control inside is perfect and that porch is to die for!! The couch and bed inside too is so comfy. You can tell the work this couple put into the renovations and upkeep here to keep it gorgeous and serene. The price nightly couldn’t be better either so this will definitely be my go to stay when I come out to Louisville! It’s about 30 minutes from most things so it was just the perfect “outside the city” stay❤️

This has to be one of the absolute best places to go camping! The hosts are wonderful people. They go above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful time when you stay with them. Not only are the facilities exceptionally clean and nice, it's a very safe and welcoming environment. I can't think of a single negative comment to make about this place other than that I wish it was closer to where I live so I could go more often! In a world where it seems people care more about making money than being nice and doing what's right, it is so refreshing to run into such admirable people. I came away from my trip not just feeling more relaxed and refreshed, but also feeling more optimistic about people in general. Thank you both for such a wonderful experience! I will definitely be going back to camp at Patrick's Point River Camp. One regret I have is that due to some significant allergies, I can't enjoy the Costa Rican breakfast that Angelica makes. I would say if you're able that is a must try! Once again, thank you for such a wonderful experience!

This was our second visit to River Tree and the same as the first visit it was amazing. I cannot say enough about the hosts. they are amazing and the friendliest people I have ever met camping. Constantly checking to make sure you need anything and always giving advice on things to do.
The camp sites are just perfect. I would not change a thing about them. Beautifully laid out, well cleared and clean waking to views of the river. The bathrooms are extremely clean and a hot shower at the end of a humid day was a relief.
It rained a good portion of the time we were there but with the wild life, we did see two bald eagles fly by our camp, it was still perfect.
To end it all an amazing Costa Rican breakfast from Angelica was a dream.
This place is perfect. Do not miss it.

I spent a night at Hickory Field and it was magical. The campsite is beautifully landscaped. Campsite has soft grass to set out your tent, nice fire pit too. The real show begins at sundown, that is when hundreds of fireflies start their show all around you. Kevin is a great host, he made sure we had everything we needed.

Chuck and Val were such kind hosts. Tar springs was truly beautiful and the tent camp sights were perfect couldn’t even tell others were around us camping. We were camping 10 ft from the water and we caught some good fish ! Caught a 13 lb channel cat. The bathrooms were beautifully done and such a great amenity would recommend this place to anybody!!

We had such a great time staying at the cliffhanger spot! We were nestled in between a cliff and a waterfall! Although it was raining the entire first day we were there, our campsite stayed completely dry and cool. We were in walking distance from the beautiful and clean men and women’s restrooms. Being able to take a hot shower was so nice! It was a little difficult to find the main house but Chuck and Van were able to give us specific directions! I do recommend letting Chuck and Van know if your car is four wheel drive. Overall I give the campsite a 9.5/10 only because our car was two wheel drive and the ground was very wet lol

We loved hidden lake farm. Lori was great to work with and her family was a wonderful host. It was a rainy weekend but there was still so much to do. We played all weekend on the lake. Peddle boats and kayaks and great fishing. The rain didn’t stop us at all. The land is beautiful and well kept. If you are looking for a getaway look no farther than hidden lake farms. Our kids were asking to come back from the first night there.

Beautiful property! Private with the sounds of a nice creek close to the camp sites. Locked gate was a nice feature for such a secluded spot. Dogs loved the path to the creek. Wish we had picked the last spot at the end..it had beautiful shade!
Train horn in the middle of the night was a shock to the system but nothing you can do about that :)

I stayed at the secluded riverside cabin and it was awesome! Patrick was so friendly and accommodating. This Hipcamp had so much to offer…bathrooms,showers,kayaks and so many styles of “roughing it”. Also close to a variety of outdoor activities and parks. I would definitely stay if I ever am back in the area
