We loved the relaxing feel of Steve's place-quiet and lots of beautiful and private spots along the river. It was a wonderful stopover and we were greeted by the sweetest sheep, goats, and a couple of curious donkeys.
Steve and his son are super friendly and welcoming. The road in is narrow and winding with little to no shoulder. I'm glad we arrived before dark. Once in though, it was totally worth it. I'd definitely return next time we're passing through Louisville.

Steve has developed such a great place to camp. It’s clean, well appointed snd thoughtful. We made our reservations for our next stay before we left. I have no negatives at all. Steve was a good host, invisible but immediately available. Perfect combination. We were camping over a long weekend in a tent. The fire ring helped contain a fire and every site had one. We had a nice picnic table and fished in the creek. Look forward to returning.

My dog and I had an absolutely wonderful visit to Hones Point Campground! Steve was a very kind, flexible and communicative host. He suggested a campsite that was just perfect for us, with plenty of room to car camp & two fire pits nestled right along the river and a creek. My dog enjoyed swimming, sniffing and exploring while I fished (caught a bass), searched for fossils/treasurers and cooked over the fire. We slept well to the sound of cicadas, frogs and the babbling river. We certainly hope to return again soon. Thanks, Steve & Co. for a magical stay!

Quiet lil hidden campground with spacious sites, and pretty close to lots of hooking and kayaking opportunities! Loved having the little "petting zoo" towards the back of the property, the goats are friendly, and Midnight the pony LOVES the attention.

The property was well maintained, Steve and his helper stopped in to see if we needed anything. I got a camper site as I needed the electicity, but that was a mistake the creekside tent sites in the woods were amazing and would have been a great stay. This isn't in anyway discrediting the site I was in it was also great just not burried in the trees by a creek

Fantastic campsite. Perfectly level side to side; didn't even have to use leveling blocks. Steve was great. It was neat waking up to sheep and a donkey roaming through the site.

Rode in via motorcycle with 3 others. The grounds was clean, well marked and easy to navigate. The primitive camp location we were assigned was perfect. We then were brought a loaf of firewood we'd purchased with the visit. Firewood was dry and burned all through the night. To top it off a river running in the background couldn't be beat. We will most definitely be returning!

Thanks Steve! We went camping a lot when our kids were younger, but then life happens. This is the first time taking our 5 year old autistic son. We typically have to keep a more careful eye since he will dart away at any moment. not one single time on our overnight! He loved sitting along side the creek or roaming around our site. The main area was a great break from things too. Played at the pool and playground! Our dogs could stretch their legs off leash as well. Port a potty’s clean! Campsite clean! Petting zoo so cute! We were looking at other sites for future visits and it’s amazing how secluded he makes each one. We truly felt like the only ones out there, and sounded like it too. so peaceful. thank you again.

Such a great campsite. So many amenities you could stay busy all day. The grounds were very, very well cared for. Someone puts a lot of work into this place in the spring to clear it up. I was amazed. Wil definitely stay here again when in the area

What a hidden gem! The property is well maintained by the owner. You can tell that he loves his land and wants others to enjoy it as well. We camped with a large group of friends with kids. We will be camping there again!

We had such a blast camping at Hones Pointe. We spent one night tent camping over Memorial Day Weekend with our five little kids. The campgrounds are great for families - lots to do, fun areas to wade through the Little Kentucky River, and thoughtful amenities. We'll be back!

This is beautiful land with small, tucked away campsite and also large group sized sites, fun creek with small waterfalls and shallow enough for small kids to play in, playground equipped with balls and rackets and such for outdoor games, and a little petting zoo. Super dog friendly. Decorated with bird houses and feeders, flowers and chimes throughout. Steve is very accessible if any questions/needs arise. Heads up: You'll hear farm animal noises early morning from a neighboring farm, not every site has running water, there are 2 porta pots for the whole land but they are well maintained.

Beautiful spot! Our group included six families and two campsites (one on the hill and one by the creek). We enjoyed fishing in the creek, visiting the animals, watching the kids play in the field, seeing the fireflies come up at dusk, and the milky way at dark. There was much to do and explore with the little ones. It was a bit of a hike to the porta-potty and water spigot from our sites, but other than that, it was a perfect stay for our camping weekend with friends!

I loved all the personal touches at Hones Campground. I'm definitely planning to go back in the future when I have more time, as this was a working trip. I didn't even get to explore the half of it. Beautiful land, and beautifully put together campground. I haven't seen most public bathrooms as clean as the porta potties they supply for their tent campers!!

Quiet, beautiful campground! The petting zoo is amazing, along with the free-roaming sheep, donkey, and mini horse. We live in Louisville, and this was a perfect not-too-far place to have a little getaway.

This campground is beautiful! The host was nice and helpful. There were a lot of cool places to access the Little Kentucky River to play and skip rocks. Our campsite had fire rings, a grill and picnic table! We can’t wait to come back to Hones Pointe!

We really like the Campground. Nice secluded area. Most of them are campsites for tenting. But the six sites that were available for our fifth wheel trailer were really nice. Lots of things to do at the campground. Some beautiful sites on the water. The Campground host was quite helpful.

If you're looking for a hidden gem in Kentucky, this campground is it! Nestled along the serene banks of the Little Kentucky River, the views are absolutely breathtaking — the kind that make you want to just sit quietly and soak it all in. The river winds gently past the campground, perfect for fishing, swimming, and kayaking. We spent a couple hours exploring the shore.
The land itself is beautifully cared for, with open fields that stretch into shady patches of old trees, and a few small trails that invite you to wander. Everything feels thoughtfully maintained — you can tell love and pride go into keeping this place beautiful. We had a fantastic fire under the stars, with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the night air.
A highlight was definitely the petting zoo, where we got to meet some adorable goats and miniature horses. Scattered around the grounds were also some lovely minerals and rocks giving it a touch of wonder and discovery.
The owner was warm and welcoming. He seemed genuinely happy to have us there, and ready to help with anything we needed. He made the whole experience feel even more special.
There are electric and water hookups available,just in case you have an RV.
