I've stayed at other hip camps and simply decided that I would love to share my little slice of heaven with others passing through my area.  Notes: there is a wee bit of road noise, I live on a dead end road, there are 10 acres between my 5 acres and the Blue Grass Parkway.  I find it peaceful here and can easily ignore it but I'm mentioning it so your not surprised by it  ;)  The Neighbors dog may come visit while you are here but is very nice and leaves if you tell him to :) You are welcome to hang a hammock in a small section of woods, by a small pond, or even on my covered porch. You are welcome to pitch a tent anywhere you like. You are welcome to park an RV or vehicle in the drive.  The drive is about 250ft long, you would need to back in in order to hook up to the 50 amp plug. RV's can use the 50 amp plug (30 amp will need an adapter. I have one you can use if you don't own one of your own) and hose for water. I have an outdoor shower and a camping toilet. I am ... - one hour from Lexington, Louisville, Elizabethtown, and Frankfort.- 1 mile from a mini mart with Gas, Ice, Pizza, Chicken Wings, Sandwiches, ect.- 6 miles from Dollar General and A pizza Restaurant - 15 ish miles from Wal-mart and other chain stores and restaurants I'm a great travel guide so feel free to tell me what your in town for or things you like to do. I will happily make you up a list of things to do and see and places to eat. Keenland, Churchill Downs, The Bourbon Tour (Jim Beam, Makers Mark, Heaven Hill, and many others) are within an hour of here. Also within an hour are 2 great bike paths, wonderful hiking and kayaking. As well as Great Shopping and Restaurants. Anything your heart desires. Using GPS Directions i would suggest avoiding Tunnel Mill Rd and Murphy Lane if towing a camper or driving an RV.

This ecological art project is recruiting visitors to camp on scenic prairies, on woodland rim sites, or at delicate campsites located along a system of woodland trails. As of 2026, Beardsnest provides a glimpse into the 5th year of succession, which is characterized by spacious views of a gently rolling young prairie that is flanked by the rocky and steep slopes of a mature forest. Pet friendly and a good fit for self-sufficient types that prefer quiet camping over dense layouts, but still want to get into to the park quickly (~6.2 miles to Visitors Center) or travel into Cave City (3 mi) for a greater variety of food, drink, and other cave experiences. Expand from campsites into a sketch-work of prairie and woodland trails featuring characteristic karst elements of topography. Visitor support allow us to plant trees (~530 seedlings as of March 2026), establish native grasses and flowers, restore wetlands, create trails, and remove invasive species. In our opinion, the essential Mammoth Cave NP experience should have 3 basic layers: 1) the underworld (cave tours), 2) upper world (hiking), and critically, the flow of water that connects the two (Green River). Mammoth Cave is unique in the way that a study of the underworld will repeatedly draw the mind into a creative space where we imagine what is beneath the surface and how these worlds are linked, while above ground hiking on land or kayaking on the rich and biodiverse Green River. There is more here than can be digested in a lifetime of observation, but examining in orbits of the 3 layers will provide a foundation of intuition and understanding. Floating the Green River is like leaving developed reality and dropping into pure nature. We offer kayak trips and guided tours that leave from camp, tailored to your schedule. This is a nice spot. Well kept and easy to find campsites. It’s especially good if you like trains and airplanes. The proximity to the railroad and Louisville airport means there are low flying planes and some trains going by. I didn’t mind, and it’s certainly no fault of the host, but it’s something to be considered. Had a good time and would recommend to others.

Mark is very kind and accommodating. He greeted us when we got there and gave us the lay of the land and info on stuff to do around the area. We had a fantastic time sitting around the fire at night. It was very quiet. It is in a suburban area but it was a very fun experience and we didn't see anyone the whole time. It's not air tight so bugs can get in however we had just come from tent camping and sleeping on a bed was very nice. It's a fun, different experience and close to Mammoth Caves.

We went to where the sites were. That's where the directions sent us. I think the host said that we could park by the barn but the barn looked like a house when we got there. It has a fancy front door and the a/c was on. The area by the barn was all mowed and the sites were not. Hubby had hurt his back and we just didn't want to mess around trying to figure out where to park. It was a very quiet place which was just what we needed for a few nights. Thank you!

My sons and I stayed out at Kevin’s property for the 2nd time and it was even better than we remembered from last year. We love the well kept sites and beautiful views of the sunrise and moonrise. Being so close to so many caves is another huge Plus. From his friendly doggos to his warm welcomes and goodbyes, we can’t plan another trip fast enough.

This spot was an awesome little hidden gem so close to all the big things to do in Louisville. It was safe and private. Also very easy to get rideshares to/from. I would definitely come back here!
