Things to do around the area, Fall Creek Falls State Park. Fall Creek Falls, at 256 feet, is one of the highest waterfalls east of the Rockies. While at the park enjoy the cascades, gorges, waterfalls, hiking, fishing, golf, boating rental, bicycling, picnic, playgrounds, basketball court, softball field, snack bars and enjoy the nature.
We are less than 1 hour away from Rock Island State Park and Cumberland Mountain State Park.
Located in Van Buren County, within a 30-minute drive. The Fall Creek Mennonite community has a variety of small businesses (seasonal produce, garden center, greenhouse, fabric, metal shop, warehouse and general store) in their community.
Also, on the way to Fall Creek Mennonite community is Fall Creek Falls Riding Stables. They provide a guided horseback tour through the woods. It normally takes an hour.
Spencer is a small town, with 2 convenience store, 1 Save-A-Lot, Family Dollar, Dollar General, a café open Tuesday-Friday (times vary) and subway.

We build from the heart with blue prints and Deer Camp was a thought that started on the back of a receipt and grew into a 12x12 cozy cabin. We have 13 acres and we share with that Deer Camp. Only enough land has been cleared for structures so it's all wooded and every structure was built by us and is unique and one of a kind.

Secluded in the woods on the Cumberland Plateau in middle Tennessee, Long Fork derives its name from the 800 feet of frontage on the Long Fork Creek. Nestled in hardwood and pine forest, the property is ranges from relatively flat to gently sloping, with one steep trail leading up to a bluff that overlooks the creek. Please read the site descriptions carefully to match your style of camping with the appropriate campsite. BBA guests frequently camp with a tent, vehicle, smaller camper, hammock tent, roof top tent, pop-up camper and similar styles. Most photos in this listing are taken onsite. Please keep in mind this is primitive and wild Tennessee landscape that may also contain poisonous plants and wildlife in or around camp.
Access to fresh water fun is a short down-hill hike for all guests, with the exception of our hike-in campsites which are positioned alongside the river. Each spot has been strategically selected to provide as much privacy as possible, and comfortably accommodates groups with two vehicles. We provide a rock fire pit and heavy-duty, cast-iron grill grate. You provide everything else, including drinking water and personal toilet waste bags if you plan to use our system. The hike-in sites come with extra seating. Every guest must be included on your reservation, and adult guests may be required to provide identification. Thank you!
COMMUNITY COMFORT STATION: There is a comfort station with an outdoor shower stall for hanging your own solar shower bag. The comfort station also includes a changing room which doubles as a private place to use your portable camping toilet. A toilet seat and bucket system is provided but guests will need to use their own waste disposal bags, available at most camping supply stores. The backside of the comfort station has a rain barrel (not potable) collection system for extinguishing fires.
OFF-ROAD CONDITIONS: Due to the primitive nature of our location, all reservations should expect hilly terrain and potential bumpy or some muddy road access, especially after heavy rain. We ask all guests to help us minimize impacts by driving with care. Vehicles with low ground clearance or low-profile tires are no longer permitted to use the off-road drive and must park at the entrance. If you want a campsite with the shortest walk from the entrance parking area, you will want to select campsite 5, 9 or 6. When the road is open during unusually wet periods, we recommend AWD or 4WD as a precaution. We are continuously working on improvements for our off-road drive.

Really nice well kept spots, well spaced, most of them very private. I choose site three and after viewing the others I think I choose the best one. All of them are nice tho and I did not view the hike in spots as they are private to those who reserve them. The hiking trails were short , which worked well with my limited time there, but most led to a nice private stream. Had it been a bit warmer I can only imagine how nice it would have been to shower under the little waterfall (soap free of course). There is a nearby highway, it is distant enough that it is not bothersome at all, but if you're looking for that dead silent but for the sounds of nature night, you won't quite have that. Nice custom cooking grates for the fire rings.

We had campsite 18 which was nicely secluded. They provided a stack of firewood and it was easy to find kindling in the surrounding woods. The bathrooms were very clean. A very nice place to spend the night.

The campsites were very nice and conveniently located near the nature center of fall creek falls. Each site has large rocks to sit on and fire rings made of stacked stone. Some sites have shelters and there is a very clean port a potty. I would definitely stay here again.

Christine’s land is so special. I had a great experience and I left so restored- exactly what I needed. I hope to suit up with lighter gear and camp but the river sometime in the future. Weekend Trip to Quarter Spring Farm
We cannot possibly recommend thunder dome any more enthusiastically! Our weekend was so relaxing. Heather greeted us upon arrival and helped us get everything to the dome. The dome itself is perfectly cozy and quaint. Wood stove was so nice and warm on a chilly spring night, and the bed was comfy. This is THE definition of glamping. And the property is gorgeous with several trails into the woods. Last but not least, their goats are absolutely adorable, and one even bonded with us and followed us back to the dome. Absolutely perfect place for a weekend getaway in nature!

This property was the BEST for camping. Randy has everything you need for a great experience. You can enjoy the beautiful lake views and solitude with campfire rings, picnic tables, and trash bins at every site. His pit toilet and shower house were even great! You can tell he cares about his land and taking care of those who visit. We had the property to ourselves the weekend we were there, but even if we had neighbors, it would have been fine as the campsites are well dispersed. Definitely recommend for either RV or tent camping.

Though the hike up was EXTREME in terms of steepness, it was well worth it. The hideout was cozy, comfortable and we loved seeing all the notes and things people have left over the years. My friends and i absolutely LOVE staying at this campsite. Chris is kind and down to earth every time we come see him. The woods are very beautiful and private, yet not far from help if anything happens. We love walking along the river, and exploring around a bit to see what we can find. We will continue to visit every year!

With pets
This place is a must see. Left feeling inspired to SIMPLIFY, as William would say. I think there are very few people living the off grid lifestyle while also making it beautiful. Experience the fruits of their labor for a night or two, and bring some of that energy back to the rest of the world. We will all be better for it.
