Welcome to Tiny Dreamer Homestead. If you are traveling through or just want to get away, we would love to host you! The land is mowed down, lush green with some trees in the middle and just all around beautiful. There are 4 gravel RV pads and gravel paths around the homestead as well as 6 large wildflower gardens. Right now there are no activities on the land. Just a place to stay if someone wants to camp or you can walk on the paths. If you have a golf cart, you can ride those on the property. I do own 31 chickens which are a delight and I sell farm fresh eggs. I also sell produce and handmade goods seasonally. I also rent my tiny house on wheels on Airbnb and there could be a guest staying at any given time. We just ask that you walk around the tiny house front and back yard and not through it if there is a guest staying. The camp sites have not been broken in yet so the spots are not in a designated area yet. There are 5 tent camp spots to choose from. The photos you see are the areas you can choose from. I supply a fire pit and free firewood for your use during your stay. We do not have bathroom facilities so please be prepared to use your own. There is also a Dollar General 2 minutes away.

Very tall pine trees on this property. A lot of wildlife pass through the camp everyday. A lot of history in this part of Tennessee. If you're into fishing there's a lot of lakes around here, even kayaking. Friendly little town called Lexington is 10 minutes away, good southern food. 2 hours from Memphis and 2 hours from Nashville. There's always someone here on the land to watch your trailer while you're out exploring. Very safe area and quiet!

Weekend Trip to Blue Heron Landing

We loved Blue Heron! Big Oak is a little further away from the "beach" than we wanted, so Don allowed us to move. We chose one of the river sites, and it was perfect. Plenty of trees to set up the hammock and slackline, lots of open space for fetch with the dog, and right on the water so we could cool off whenever we wanted. We'll be back!

This spot is great. We have been here several times and we love it. There is a ton of room, it is always well kept and clean. It feels like you are very secluded but there is quick access to great restaurants and stores if needed.

The place was beautiful and it was very scenic. I found a spot that was right on the river and it did not disappoint. The spot had easy water access and I kayaked multiple times without any issues although if you go on the weekend be prepared there are allot of boats so if you are swimming or kayaking this can get tricky. I would stay here again it’s a great place to visit and enjoy.

Weekend Trip to Blue Heron Landing

The campsite sits beside a quiet creek, bordered by soybean fields on one side and the water on the other. We were able to hang our hammocks over the creek bank which was fabulous! The highlight of the site is the magnificent oak tree, estimated to be 200–300 years old. Sitting beneath a tree that has witnessed centuries of history was something truly special, and we can’t wait to return in the fall to see her autumn colors. Nighttime is my favorite time at any camp, and this is my new #1 spot. Frogs called from every direction, barred owls echoed through the night, ducks chimed in occasionally, and the stillness between each sound was pure magic. I slept so good. Before leaving, we drove around to see the other campsites on the property. The riverfront sites are directly on the Tennessee River and also appeared to offer plenty of privacy from one another. If you enjoy watching boats pass by and want immediate river access, they looked like fantastic options. The host was welcoming and genuinely cares about his property. When he stopped by to deliver our firewood, I told him, “You didn’t do this place justice in the description!” The photos are beautiful, but they simply can’t capture how special this place feels once you’re there. One tip for summer campers: bring insect repellent. The mosquitoes are plentiful, but that’s simply part of camping in a lush creekside environment and was a small tradeoff for such an incredible natural setting.

Weekend Trip to Peaceful Hills Retreat & Campground

Beautiful spot to escape reality for a bit. No cell service or WiFi, just peace and quiet. I highly recommend getting the hammock and eggs! The creek was crystal clear, and the dogs loved exploring it with us. We took a small trip to Horseshoe Bend Winery, and enjoyed a bottle of Cherry wine, while taking in the breathtaking view over the Duck River. I can’t wait to come back.

Very peaceful location on the water at Big Oak site. Easy to get to the site which has a mix of shade and open sky. The site was clean and well-maintained. Don was quick to respond and answered all our questions ahead of booking. Would definitely return to this site when in the area again.

The place is absolutely amazing. The covered area is so nice and has fans and lights. The pad is all concrete so no mud if it rains. Cassie is very nice and always meets us and offers eggs from their chickens.

About

Surrounded by views of the Tennessee River, Natchez Trace features hiking trails ranging from short jaunts to a 40-mile overnight trail, many of which wind through forest, fields, lakeshore, and streams. Visitors can learn about local history in the museum, choose from four fishing lakes, or head to the unique onsite wrangler camp. You’ll find 250 miles of riding trails on the south end of the park in the Natchez Trace State Forest.

Notable campgrounds

Best for RVs: Pin Oaks Campground is located on the shore of Pin Oak Lake, has hookups, and can accommodate RVs up to 80 feet in length.
Best for equestrians: Close to the equestrian center, you can camp with your horse at Wrangler Camping.

Best for tent campers: Cub Lake Campground, open seasonally, is divided into two sections and offers a more primitive experience.

Tips for snagging a campsite

Booking in advance is recommended and can be easily done online and up to one year in advance.
Same-day booking is not available online, so you will have to call.
Double-check your dates before booking: There is a non-refundable booking fee.

When to go

Natchez Trace State Park is open year-round and great to visit at any time (though some campgrounds close seasonally). The area is a popular spot for viewing the golden fall foliage in October and November. Overall, spring might be the best time to visit, as you can see colorful wildflowers in bloom and enjoy pleasant temperatures typically in the 60s and 70s.

Know before you go

Backcountry camping is allowed in four designated sites, although a permit is required.
Visit the Natchez Park Camp Store for gear, snacks, and other supplies.
Cell service is unreliable throughout the park, so be sure to download maps prior to arrival.
Only certified heat-treated firewood is allowed to enter the park as outside firewood.
