We are a 24 acre horse farm that specializes in retraining thoroughbreds after their racing careers are over into second careers. We also have a small breeding program, so there are usually baby horses around. We are close to town, but on a quiet road in the country. Access to fishing and boating if you have the supplies. We have a fire pit and a grill that are available to useYou have access to the fire pit and grill, and we offer riding lessons for those wanting to try horse back riding. There is a fishing lake down our road. If you have a canoe or kayak there’s also that on the same lake. We are a working farm, horses get fed around 8, you’re more than welcome to watch, or be a part of it if you wish. There are civil war battle sites on our road, for those wanting to tap into the history of our area!

Camping on a horse farm
This is a working horse farm and Rex took time to show us around and let us feed and pet the horses. It was a new experience for us and we appreciated his expertise in explaining the work they do every day. It was raining when we pulled in after dark and they helped us get our RV in the right spot and get hooked up. They went above and beyond. We loved our time there!

Danielle and Rex were so welcoming and told us all about the horses - we even got to meet a new foal! My kids played with her son and caught frogs together. It was such a great time!

Very relaxing
So very peaceful! I visited with some of the horses, and the very friendly family dogs (they checked if I was ok with dogs before letting the dogs out). It has been a hot, humid day, but it cooled off very nicely at night, so I slept really well.

It was very peaceful and calming there. Just being in the presence of the horses and pups was healing. If you’re looking for a spot for a few days, it’s a perfect place to be. Kids will love it. Thanks, Danielle!

We enjoyed staying overnight at 2nd Chance Thoroughbred farm. Rexx showed us around, introduced us to the horses, and let us help with the evening and morning feedings.

A great horse farm experience with super welcoming hosts. The RV spot is right in the middle of the action with beautiful horses to watch and visit with next to the barn. Shore power, level ground, and several very sweet, free roaming farm dogs to pet! We enjoyed waking up and meeting our new four legged friends. Working while on the road was a breeze as our personal Starlink had an obstructed connection. If you are looking for a real farm experience and even want to get hands on, Second Chance is a great spot.
