I loved hammock camping here! The river tubing was a blast, and it was very quiet in the evenings. The hosts went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. The amenities were well stocked and super clean! I will be back for sure.

We loved camping at Melissa's campsite. The scenery is great, and the creek is a true refreshing summertime treat. Loved the nearby chicken coop, the rooster was a pretty chill guy, not too loud in the morning. The stargazing at night was fantastic. We had a short drive to the national forest roads for some hiking. And we bought some of Melissa's honey, can't wait for our current honey to run out so we can try it.

WOW!!!!! What an incredible experience we had while camping from 7/3/25-7/6/25!!!! This campground was simply gorgeous with the beauty of nature all around you. The owners are fantastic, kind, knowledgeable and friendly wanting to make sure that you enjoy your visit. My grand daughter cut her toe and as soon as George and Ginny seen her being carried, they came rushing with the first aid kit and quickly had her bandaged up so she was on the run again right away! The campground has huge handmade picnic benches, grills with cleaning tools and spatula attached, bags for garbage disposals that were being emptied constantly, Life jackets free for the little ones, tubes rented all day for $5/each, the cleanest port-o-potty’s I’ve even seen and specially carved seats made out of logs all around the area so there are plenty of spots to just sit and relax to watch the water and the guests float by on tubes or listen to the birds. At night George or his son,Nick came around and set up the camp fires complete with kindled wood and starter. We just lit them up and we enjoyed fires each night. We travelled from Madison Alabama and we are already trying to set up our next trip. I guarantee once the word gets out about this place, it will be hard to get in!!!! My husband and I just spent a week at the Coweeta Creek Campground and it was the most peaceful camping trip we have ever had. This small campground has large campsites that are right on the creek. Every night we ate dinner and sat outside listening to the creek and watching the fireflies put on an amazing show. The campground has a nice bathhouse which was always clean and well stocked. The trees around the campsite gave us loads of shade we never had to put out the awning for shade. We will definitely be camping here again. Melissa and Adam were the perfect hosts.

I was blown away by Georgianna's property! The mountains make for a stunning backdrop for adventure but that doesn't always translate to ease. Backroads, spotty service, and a new area you've yet to navigate - can all lead to a frustrated beginning of a trip. Not the case at Woods & Water! From the online directions and guidance, we were able to find the property with ease and then once you've turned off the main road it was immediately evident that this was not your everyday property. From clearly marked signage, easy to navigate routes to each camp site, and a finesse that truly sets this place apart. Georgianna has worked hard to provide a space that respects the beauty of its surroundings but elevates the experience for guests. The hard work is evident with ample clear space for each site that allows options for set up and layout to your comfort. Lighting that is placed strategically to aide in navigating the area after dark but not too bright to compete with the stunning display of fireflies and stars! So much care and thoughtfulness has been put into this property to afford guests the most incredible laid-back experience!

Very nice campsite with lots of room, shade, and very peaceful. Having firewood and fresh eggs was a plus. Enjoyed everything about this place.

We loved staying on Brian’s land. He was a great host, very responsive and informative when we had any questions. Heartstone was the perfect campsite. It was obvious just how much thought and care went into planning, building and maintaining this site. We loved the two perfectly leveled areas for our tents and the leveled space for the grill and picnic table AND the other leveled space for the fire pit. The site even comes with its own restroom/outhouse facility. We loved the view of the rippling creek from this site and the sounds of the rushing water. Pictures and words do not do this place justice. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Pick this site. It’s amazing. You won’t regret it.

What an amazing spot! The site is so thoughtfully designed with the bridge, platform, creek views, and other little touches. We found the gravel coming in/out to be in pretty great shape for the most part and were able to do it safely in our little Jetta. (But we’re pretty confident drivers on gravel backroads.) We had total privacy and our dogs loved roaming around, playing in the creek, and going back and forth across the bridge. Would absolutely come back if we’re in the area again!

Weekend Trip to Castleberry Bridge

Y'all, I cannot tell you just how much fun we had this weekend. George and Ginnie were amazing! The campsites are perfect and a long the beautiful Etowah. There is so much history right where you are camping. The camping and community area are incredibly well maintained. There is only one porta-potty, but they keep it clean and stocked 24/7. Tubing all day is $5 and well worth it, fun rapids, deep swimming spots. We will ABSOLUTELY be back

Weekend Trip to Chattooga Belle Farm Lakeside

This was our first hipcamp experience, and we didn't know what to expect. It ended up being perfect for the weekend! We had our canoe so we spent a lot of time on the lake. The lake was small, and the swimming area was great. We were able to pull our van down close to the water and found a level spot. We had our dog with us and he had a great time as well. Very chill. Overall, highly recommend! The only complaint, and it is minor, was that the outhouse stunk.

Look for the gate at 851 Castleberry Bridge Rd (right where the bridge crosses the river) and drive through the gate and George (owner) should be there. Located in the heart of the Pisgah National and Nantahala Forests, the Balsam Grove community is known for its secluded trails & waterfalls. There are a plethora of activities to do in the nearby surrounding area. Explore in adventures like hiking, cycling, mountain biking, canoeing, tubing, fly-fishing and kayaking. Transylvania county is also known as “The Land of Waterfalls”, where you’ll find over 250 spectacular waterfalls. Just 9 miles away, take in a day of scenic beauty up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. You’ll discover amazing long-range views of the Appalachian Mountain Range, stunning waterfalls, fields of wildflowers & trails, over-looks and elevations that reach more than 5,000 feet. Depending on the time of year you are visiting, you can catch a floral show as the seasons change. Afternoon picnics and sunsets on the Parkway are highly recommended as well as star gazing on a clear night is indubitably hypnotizing and will leave you awestruck!! Just a few nearby waterfalls under a 15 minute drive from campsite: 3.7 mi- Living Waters. Three easy waterfalls all within a short walk. French Broad Falls, Mill Shoals Falls, and Bird Rock Falls. 7.5 mi- Courthouse Falls. 45 ft. waterfall that plunges into a deep pool. Perfect spot for a dip on a hot summer’s afternoon. Ten minute fairly easy hike from trailhead. 7.7 mi- Paradise Falls Trailhead. One of the best secret swimming holes! A magnificent oasis. Challenging and steep hike, but worth it. 11 mi- Upper Dill Falls & Lower Dill Falls. 50 ft. Waterfall (lower) with just a short easy hike. Upper Dill falls is beautiful and tucked into a lush cove. 7.9 mi- Wolf Creek Lake. Better known to the locals as Wolf Lake, this 183 acre high elevation lake offers spectacular scenery and great swimming, kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding.

Cherokee Waterfall Campground

Please read the entire listing because I have updated this page. The booking is for 2 people, any guest after the initial 2 or pet will be $10 per night. Add them as extra guests Pull down a paved road and get out of your car and sit down at a picnic table in front of a private waterfall! This site has a pull through, full hookup spot with 30amp for campers but tents are always welcome or a combination of the two. I've had a 33' camper, popup camper and 6 tents at this campsite all at the same time so there plenty of room for your family and friends! We're 2.5 miles from the Cherokee Casino and 3.5 miles from down town Cherokee If you're tired of crowded campgrounds then you'll love the privacy this campground offers. This is now a two site campground with each site being around 100' away from the other site with trees and vegetation growing in between, you more or less cant see on site from the other from May until November. There is a orange cone that marks the border of the two sites. One set of campers will not be allowed on the other campers campsite, if this happens you will be evicted with no refund. Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 12pm. No shooting firearms, (although you may hear people shooting firearms because you will be camping in the mountains) but your more than welcome to bring your firearms. Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. No fireworks. No making trails or collecting firewood (This is not because I want to sell you firewood, its because I want to have the property remain as pristine as possible) Do not cut down trees alive or dead If you move picnic tables please move them back Dogs are permitted but message me first to see if your do will be a good fit. There is a small Church around 200 yards from the campground. They hold services every Wednesday and Sunday. They generally start around 5pm and it lasts around a hour. If your into that they would love to have you come down. The EBCI opened a dispensary around 3 miles from the campground. It will open to all adults over 21 starting September 7th 2024. Mountain Creek Rest is a rural, creek side get-a-way in the mountains with 2 beautiful, huge, tent sites and a mini-cabin, also on a large site! It does not have hook ups, power, or running water. You get there on a gravel road with 2wd as long as your car has 5.5" of clearance. (google your car) Heartstone tent site is a stunningly beautiful, romantic campsite for 2! There is a new, large tent pad if you have children! The Diamondstone site is also a unique, beautiful, one-of-a-kind site! It has a beautiful, furnished, shelter cabin is provided for you instead of using your tent!!! Leave your tent and the set-up at home! There is also room for a tent and your children out front, right beside the creek! Islandsite is an equally beautiful tent site ideally for two, but the 10x12 platform can accommodate a 6-man tent, best for 2 adults and a couple of kids! You won't want to leave, but if you do there are many recreational opportunities in the area such as hiking, biking, rafting, fishing, and more! Stays of 6 days or more get a big discount! Enjoy the fresh, cooler mountain air, and the beautiful, settings! Heartstone is located on a modestly pitched, terraced slope where a divided mountain stream, the tumbling Squally Creek rejoins itself! The sunlight filters down through the forest canopy providing a warm, inviting glow!! There is a 9'-6" x 10' wooden tent platform, and if needed a new, larger tent pad! Islandsite is located at the top of the island where the tumbling Squally Creek divides! Access is provided by the 40' long fallen tree bridge! Islandsite is unique, private, and very romantic! Diamondstone, Heartstone, and Islandsite feature a picnic table, charcoal grille, and comfort facility all within a short walk from your private parking! Enjoy evenings at the new fire pit area with benches overlooking the fire pit and creek! Explore the island on the 400' island trail, or go downstream to a nice pool for dipping! Contact me for discounts when staying more than 6 nights! The gravel road is uneven, and 5.5" of clearance is recommended. Extra guests are an available option! The property is spacious and there is parking for a second vehicle nearby if needed!
