Heartstone is located on a modestly pitched, terraced slope where a divided mountain stream, the tumbling Squally Creek rejoins itself! The sunlight filters down through the forest canopy providing a warm, inviting glow!! There is a 9'-6" x 10' wooden tent platform, and if needed a new, larger tent pad!
Islandsite is located at the top of the island where the tumbling Squally Creek divides! Access is provided by the 40' long fallen tree bridge! Islandsite is amazing and very unique!
Diamondstone, Heartstone, and Islandsite all feature a picnic table, charcoal grille, and comfort facility. They are all within a short walk from your private parking! Enjoy evenings at the new fire pit area with benches overlooking the fire pit and creek!
Explore the island on the 400' island trail, or go downstream to a nice pool for dipping!

3. QUIET TIME. 10 PM - 8 AM
4. CHECK OUT PROCEDURES. Camp must be broken down by 11 AM on departure day. If you stay past time you could be charged for an additional day. Extension possible with pre-approval.
5. All Overnight Guests Must Pay
6. Trash must be taken to the Green Bins located at the lower corner of the upper field
7. No washing vehicles
8. PETS must be kept on a leash at all times. Please clean up after your pets and do NOT leave them in the campground unattended.

The Cove consists of 12 acres with a tributary stream and spring fed ponds
less than a half mile from the Toccoa River. It was originally the water source for the surrounding properties prior to the city installing a water system. It is completely private and unspoiled nature, with about a mile of walking trails throughout. The Mountaintop is a 3 acre high elevation site bordering 140 acres of undisturbed woods and is also very close to the Toccoa River.
Fantastic location yet very private for base camp to access the many activities in this area, or enjoy the Toccoa River. It is the only campground in Fannin County limited to only one group at a time.
Each site includes 2 access points to the Toccoa River. The Gibbs Drive community river access lot has a charcoal grill, picnic table, boat launch, swimming rock and fire pit with chairs. The Toccoa River Forest community river access lot has a big boat ramp. The river is controlled flow and usually at low water from dawn to about 2 pm, ideal for fishing or swimming/wading/boulder bopping. The River release schedule is available online at
the website TVA.gov.
The River has swift current when the dam is opened for release, usually daily.
This property is conveniently located in Mineral Bluff, Georgia 30559, just 4 miles off the 4-lane highway (Highway 515/76) and just a short drive to Blue Ridge, Georgia; Blairsville, Georgia; Murphy, North Carolina, McCaysville, Georgia and Copper Hill, Tennessee. It is a paved road drive all the way to the entrance. It is located just a few miles from the center of downtown Blue Ridge with art galleries, many restaurants, brew pubs, shopping, the Blue Ridge Brewing Company, Mercier Orchard, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad, and more!
The Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad runs most of the year from Blue Ridge to McCaysville, right along the Toccoa River.
The campsites are equally close to downtown McCaysville, Ga. /Copper Hill, TN.
You are a short drive from Lake Blue Ridge, the Chattahoochee National Forest, Brasstown Bald and many hiking trails, such as the Aska adventure area, the Appalachian Trail, the Benton McCaye Trail, and trails in the Big Frog wilderness area, Cohutta wilderness area (largest wilderness area east of the Mississippi) the Rich Mountain wilderness area and the Project Chimps hiking trails. Oh wow!!!! What a GEM!!!! We actually lived real close to this Hipcamp property and had no idea there were views like this! Franklin is lucky to have such a nice property to camp on. There are port-o-jons near each campsite. I didn’t use them but my friend did and said they were extremely clean. This site fit both of our vehicles and her tent. The platform is awesome. The view is incredible. There is a grill, fire extinguisher, hose, garbage bags and a fire pit ring at the site. Damien is very communicative. The directions are probably thee clearest ones I’ve ever seen on Hipcamp. I look forward to going again!!!

Great location, super responsive and really nice host & on-site manager/maintenance, super clean and well kept, beautiful scenery, very quiet and private campsite (we stayed at campsite 10), and nice accommodations. Fire pit area, charcoal grill (utensils were in the grill for use), & water spigot, deck for the tent. We were surrounded by nature and made great memories with the kiddos!

Weekend Trip to Salty Pines Hideaway
The yurt was amazing! Very spacious and comfortable bedding with courteous, thought out details for lighting in and out of the yurt. The shower was hot and refreshing!
Big thanks to everyone who has built that entire site up as well as all the recommendations we received! The nearby bar (Thirsty Turtle) serves up some great burgers and pizza on different days of the week, and sure to ask about the turtle races on Friday night!

If you are looking for the ultimate peaceful getaway, this is the spot. Our stay was nothing short of amazing, largely thanks to the host, who was incredibly welcoming and genuinely dedicated to making sure we could completely unwind and relax from the moment we arrived.
The campsite is nestled right along the flowing banks of Hothouse Creek. Waking up to the sound of water and spending lazy afternoons lounging in the hammock right by the creek was pure bliss. The site itself is extremely well-equipped—having a smokeless fire pit, a pop-up canopy, a charcoal grill, and zero gravity chairs ready to go made setting up camp a breeze.
The 27-acre property strikes the ideal balance between remote wilderness and modern convenience. It’s quiet and private, yet just a short 15-minute drive into Blue Ridge or McCaysville when you need to grab supplies or grab a bite to eat. We also loved the indoor common house; having access to clean full bathrooms with hot showers and an air-conditioned den was a wonderful luxury.
Nature lovers will love it here. We spent our evenings stargazing under wonderfully open skies—we really appreciated the thoughtful red exterior lighting designed to protect night vision. And as a bonus, we got to meet the property's three friendly goats, plus enjoy visits from a hummingbird and fireflies.
This was our second straight year coming here and plan on fitting it in to our yearly hiking road trips. Thanks Ralph l!

We loved camping on the island while two river streams flow by on each side of the campsite. The campsite is well equipped with a grill, deck for tent, bathroom. Our favorite part was waking up and taking a dip in the cold river water to wake up and start our day.

What a wonderful stay at Rest and Retreat! I came as a solo female traveler with my dog and felt completely safe the entire time. Ralph is incredibly friendly and hospitable, he made me feel right at home and even started a fire for me every day, which was such a thoughtful touch.
You can tell he takes real pride in his land. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and well cared for. I stayed in site 4, the most private site (and furthest from the bath house), and loved the seclusion. The site itself was set up so nicely with a pop-up canopy, hammock, smokeless fire pit, firewood, and a comfortable wood-chip ground.
The showers and bathrooms are very nice and clean. The water is nice and hot, and they provide shampoo and soap that smell great, little details that make a big difference.
Overall, a fantastic experience. Quiet, clean, thoughtfully run, and dog-friendly. I would definitely stay here again!

Brian’s campsite is truly a slice of heaven on earth. Pictures pale in comparison to the magic you will feel here in the Smokey Mountains. I stayed at hearthstone for 2 nights, lulled to sleep by the roaring buffalo creek, just steps away from my tent. The camp is beautifully maintained, and hand built by the owner himself! It was a pleasure to speak with Brian in person during my stay, learning of his travels and endeavors that brought him to Appalachia. I cannot recommend this spot enough. BOOK IT!
Some tips: I drove into the site in a AWD Cadillac sedan with 5.9” clearance and had no trouble. Just go slow and you’ll be fine. In the cooler months, make sure to pack wool/fleece blankets for sleeping, as the blue side of the mountain shows no mercy to air mattresses. Never had any encounters with wildlife, but kept food stored inside my car, never near my tent. Bring ample bug spray, solar lights, and fire starting options as the ground is wet year round and the canopy of trees blocks out a lot of moonlight.

This is such a great campsite! Very easy to find, easy to get my trailer parked, and well maintained property. The bathroom was private and had plenty of room. Each RV site had an electrical hook up and water. It was great falling asleep to the sound of the creek and I enjoyed seeing the chickens roam the property. Anne is super kind and very responsive! Highly recommend staying here and will definitely be here again.
This place is also super close to the Smokies Natl Park and about 20min from NOC for all the kayakers and rafters out there :)

Great experience here! Ralph was very hospitable and you can tell he cares about your experience at his camp site. He reached out to verify the day I was coming to see what time I’d be there, and came out to say hello when I arrived later that night which I appreciated. The bathroom facility was very nice and clean not something you will get at most campsites!
Just a quick note for people considering this site and I believe he may have posted this somewhere, I had limited/no cell phone reception, so if you need to be connected make sure you have some sort of contingency plan. Again this is to no fault of Ralph and it is the mountains of Georgia, but do be prepared!!
