Solace Farm Homestead

Me and some friends had a 10/10 experience at Solace Farms!! We were in the area for climbing, and there’s plenty of it within 30 minutes to an hour. Will definitely be recommending this place to friends at our climbing wall back in NOLA. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

Loved our time at Solace Farm! A very peaceful property with a wonderful agricultural operation going on. You can tell the family pours their hearts into what they do! We booked a "Junior Farm Tour" and enjoyed our time walking around the farm with the kids as we learned about the animals, gardens, etc. The Meadow Site has a great sunset view - secluded and peaceful!

We had a great time under the pines!! We took our 1 year old for her first camping trip here. She had a blast. We did the tour lead by the kiddos. They took us around to see all the farm animals and gardens. I mean this in the best way possible, the hosts left us alone the whole time after we got everything setup. They seem like they will be as involved as you want. Let us know that we could freely explore the property. Had nice camping neighbors with plenty of distance from each other. Shared compost toilet for the two campsites. We had our dog with us who doesn’t really play nice with other dogs. The pines area is fenced in. They’ve got a little puppy that slipped through the cracks every now and then, but then we figured out how to get the gate closed so she couldn’t sneak in. She was super sweet though and didn’t cause problems. We planned to go to stone door, but just decided to stay on the farm because we were having fun there. Sorry for the rambling, but we had a great time. We will definitely be back!

This place exceeded our expectations. Very informative host, and great kids showed us around the farm. Being close and personal with the highland cows was an experience I will never forget. We will definitely be back.

I cannot express how wonderful this was. I was solo camping and little nervous. Caleb met me for a tour and showed me the farm. I immediately felt comfortable and cared for! Very safe and it was just great to go to sleep with the cows and goats and sheep beside me! If there wasn’t rain in the forecast for night 2 I would have stayed and never left. Thank you so very much

Recommend, but not for dogs

This was a beautiful and peaceful site, however, I would not recommend bringing your dog. They mentioned their Great Pyrenees (a livestock guardian dog) is typically good with other dogs but attacked my dog at our campsite. If you’re looking for a spot with your dog, I don’t recommend just to be on the safe side. If you aren’t camping with dogs, this is a beautiful spot and you’ll love it.

Alpacas and the Pine Forest

What a beautiful Pine Forest with beautiful sunrises and sunsets! The composting toilet was amazing to have within close proximity! We were given permission to use any fallen branches and twigs for our camp fire. The land was simply gorgeous. New favorite place to camp! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One tidbit, (and this is not a bad review at all) do not bring your reactive dog(s). My dog is trained and not reactive, but we still had a moment of “almost aggression.” The livestock guardian dogs are there to protect the farm life and we must respect that. They are super sweet, however, one of them and my dog started resource guarding when we brought out food to cook. I stepped in immediately and contained my dog in the tent. No fight happened, just the threat of a fight, and thankfully, I was attentive to them. So, I do not recommend bringing an untrained, barky dog, and I say that with kindness and safety for the family and future tenants and their pets. ☺️

Peaceful weekend getaway

We loved camping at Solace Farm! We camped with our 1 yr old and dog. The site was peaceful and relaxing. The junior farmer tour add on was the highlight of our trip! We got to mingle with the cows, sheep, and goats and enjoyed learning about their names and personalities.

the people are nice, the area is gorgeous 10/10 we were right next to the alpacas and sheep, and on the other side they have lots and lots of goats!! and ducks! and cows too! it's almost like you're on a farm!

We had a group of ten stay on the Solace camp farm for one night and we had the best time. Amy was super accommodating and let us visit all the animals. The land was beautiful especially at sunset. I hope to camp here again!

Nice, private open spaces in a windswept field. Easily accessible. Slept like a baby even though there were people riding atvs all night on the adjacent property. Also got a tour of the farm which included goats, ducks, highland cows, and alpacas.

We love the fact that it was primitive camping very quiet sounds of nature all around you absolutely enjoyed waking up to the different animals around our area we were allowed to roam freely after meeting with our host when we arrived she was very informative very friendly and we look forward to coming back we will want to bring our grandchildren on our next visit so that they can enjoy the atmosphere with the animals as well.

Gorgeous farm and very responsive and helpful hosts. The Scottish Highlands were so beautiful and the alpacas were adorable. So incredible to get a front row seat to the animals and though they're all close by, they're very quiet at night. Will definitely be coming back here to camp.

Amazing amazing amazing place to camp. We loved it so much. We stayed in the pine forest and it was so peaceful. We had llamas,sheep,and even a deer right next to our site. They have beautiful land and so many animals. The compost toilet available at our site was clean and actually wasn't bad to use. In one of the reviews it said the wall from the parking area up to the site is 3 minutes but it's more like maybe 1 minutes. The only noise we heard at night were the ducks and their dog barking for a few minutes but we have a sound machine so they didn't keep us up. We got a lot of goodies in their store. All handmade on their homestead. Amy and Caleb are the nicest people and I definitely recommend anyone staying in the pine forest.

We decided to have a random camping trip and it was so beautiful and peaceful out on this farm! We had such a good time enjoying the view and seeing all the creatures wandering around the land with us :•) Everything was wonderful and the family was very kind, we plan on coming back one day in the future!

So wonderful. It is a working farm so expect animals and fences and such. The camping spot was easy to get to, easy to park and wonderfully beautiful. I enjoyed my stay!

We stayed a few days at Solace Farm and really enjoyed our stay. The pine forest area was beautiful and just right for hammocks, plus it felt private and safe yet not so far off from the rest of the farm. Amy has great handmade skincare products for sale which I purchased a couple of and really loved! Water available from hose we used for washing. Family was kind and helpful and they have all sorts of animals- turkey, ducks, cattle, sheep, goats, etc- which were really fun to walk around and observe. Host gave good directions and the place was easy to find.

Loved this property! Hosts were sweet, their family showed us all the new baby animals. The walk is super short. Perfect flat area for tent set up and fire. It feels private since you’re up over a small hill. Would definitley stay again!

Amy's family farm is a great place to set up a tent or hang a hammock. The location is convenient to ample hiking opportunities and a short commute to The Caverns. A tranquil respite from the road.
