Tucked away on Sequatchie Mountain, this little campground and hostel invites you to experience some of East Tennessee's best parks for climbing and hiking. Cliffs and waterfalls are minutes away at near by Foster Falls, Denny Cove and Castle Rock. The hostel offers 3 bedrooms, fast internet, complete kitchen, comfortable beds, smart TV, fire pit, and laundry. The campground offers dispersed sites with fire pits and picnic tables, as well as clean bathrooms and a communal barn with a microwave, fridge, games, tables and chairs. You can walk our 22 acres and even take a short hike out to our bluff. Make sure to say "Hi" to our chickens and our barn cat, Strawberry, on the way. Add in the view of the stars and that makes this the perfect basecamp after a long day out.

Tucked away atop Sequatchie Mountain, Fireside Camp + Lodge is a peaceful basecamp for exploring some of East Tennessee's best climbing, hiking, waterfalls, and scenic overlooks. Foster Falls, Denny Cove, and Castle Rock are all just minutes away. Our campground features dispersed camping across 5 acres of open field, allowing you to choose the spot that feels right for you. A handful of fire pits and picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests also have access to a communal barn with a refrigerator, microwave, games, and covered seating, as well as clean portable toilets and a dishwashing station. Spend your days exploring the Plateau and your evenings around a campfire beneath some of Tennessee's darkest skies. While you're here, feel free to wander the property, visit our meditation forest and bluff overlooks, say hello to the chickens, and keep an eye out for Strawberry, our friendly barn cat. Because we live in a rural mountain community, you may occasionally be visited by one of the neighborhood dogs. They are friendly, accustomed to campers, and generally just looking for a quick hello before continuing on their way. The dispersed camping fee is charged per person, per night. Please note that the outdoor shower and sink are seasonal and unavailable during winter months due to freezing temperatures.

This building was re-crafted to create a modern Appalachian basecamp with a minimalist and functional design. Inside you will find both modern and reclaimed furnishings that are true to the place and time.  Make a campfire and share some s'mores (tip: look up at the stars!), or cuddle up to watch Netflix on the couch. Either way, we created this place for you to get away.  Rooms are stocked with fresh linens and towels (and some complimentary water bottles and snacks), the kitchen has coffee and tea waiting to be made, and there's a small "corner market" with a few snack and meal options to purchase.  You can walk the 22 acres and even take a short hike out to our bluff. Make sure to say "Hi" to our chickens and our barn cat, Strawberry, on the way.

Welcome to your own private off grid cabin nestled on the edge of a picturesque bluff in Sequatchie, TN. If you're seeking solitude, stunning views, and a rustic yet comfortable escape, our small private cabin is the perfect destination. Please keep in mind that this cabin is designed for those seeking a rustic and secluded retreat. If you're looking for more amenities or a traditional bathroom with a shower, check out our other listings on the property! The cabin is truly an off grid retreat into nature with an incredible mountain vista. The interior of the cabin is comfortable for two with a live edge cedar table, full bed with a memory foam mattress, and an air conditioner for warmer days. Step outside to the covered outdoor kitchen, fully equipped with a gas stove, mini fridge, sink and essential cooking supplies. As evening falls, gather around a campfire and take in the cliffside stargazing. Power is no issue; the cabin runs on a robust battery bank charged by a gas generator. Simply push a few buttons for electricity. For nature's call, discover the thoughtfully designed composting toilet/outhouse with a mountain view! There's an outdoor shower at the front of the property with hot water. Additional guests are welcome to camp for a fee. Please note the shower is not available during the winter months due to freezing temperatures.

This place is amazing. It is truly a retreat. It is a spiritual place. There is an energy there that is beautiful. You can walk a trail with eight Buddhas and read these affirmations that just are simple and tell you to breathe in good things and breathe out bad things. It’s so beautiful. I could not recommend this place more. The people who own it and run it are amazing and kind and very generous. I will be back here regularly. Just to go hang out and spend a couple of nights there here and there. It’s $12. Well, $15 with tax to sleep in a tent for crying out loud. I mean come on that’s amazing. I love this place. It’s beautiful. The energy is clean and peaceful and regenerative.

This place was great. I booked the site last minute and the hosts were responsive and warm. We had plenty of room to set up a tent and bonfire, and the site felt safe (important to me as a solo female) to lay outside and stargaze at 3am. My son and I were surprised by a golden retriever and friendly kitty who joined us for a while! The outdoor shower was well kept with great water pressure. This was a lifesaver with the high temps! A great find. Would love to stay in one of the cabins another time!

Pros-Flat field with fireflies and great stargazing. Cleanest portapotties and outdoor shower. Cons- shower was either freezing cold or burning hot (could have been user error) and a rooster that wakes you up at 5am. Great value site!

Fireside Cabin on the Bluff
My bestie and I spent two nights at Fireside Camp in the Cabin on the Bluff, and it was such an incredible experience. Nick and Sydney were perfect hosts! The cabin was clean, cozy, and comfortable, and the views from the bluff were absolutely unforgettable. I highly recommend staying here if you get the chance. There’s amazing hiking and rock climbing just minutes away, and their property is truly beautiful!

Some days there was no hot water in the shower, porta potty only cleaned when other guests arrived but safe and pretty much quiet space. Great view from a cliff just a short Hike away from the main ground. Hosts offered free eggs when they’d collected too many from their chickens and were generally pretty nice. Had multiple (6) encounters with loose dogs, luckily none were aggressive as I stayed calm when approached. Site was also out of firewood. Not sure why but the water in the outdoor sink wouldn’t come on at times as well. Keep in mind I’m not one to go and bother about everything so I’m sure if you stayed on top of communication they’d try to resolve any issues.

This campground has a great vibe, but some details hold it back - first, we set up our tents, and then realized we were pretty much surrounded by poison ivy - watch out for the ivy, it's not everywhere, but it is pretty common in the campground (not just in the forest). Second, there is a dog breeder nearby, and the dogs will get howling into the night sometimes. The rooster at 5 a.m. isn't so bad (at least where I was camping), but the dogs were a bit much at 1 a.m. With that said, the barn gave us some great options, the property was easy, it was the right price, even when it was pretty crowded, you had room to breathe, I would camp there again - just far from the poison ivy!

Beautiful property. Peaceful and quiet. The outdoor shower was warm and wonderful! The porta-potty really is very clean. I tent camped and didn’t realize there was a street light that would be illuminating the post of the field I picked until after I was all set up and too tired and dark to move. Otherwise, everything was perfect. I highly recommend camping here.

Beautiful area, nice picnic tables/fire rings on each campsite and private outdoor shower is a nice touch. Also having the barn incase of weather is nice. I will say theres no cell service up there for At&t which was nice. I do want to make mention there were some kind of kenneled dogs off in the distance barking randomly and is pretty loud, wasn't a big deal, just wanted to mention. VERY peaceful and beautiful.

Lovely place ! Although- there were lots of dogs nearby that were active & loud until after midnight. (Maybe a kennel nearby, or just a very active local pack of coyotes?!? Not sure…) One dog just barked & barked & barked nonstop & then some others would all join in occasionally. Also- a stray dog did wander through in the middle of the night. Didn’t bother me in my tent. But if you have pets with you, just be aware; when I was leaving the area the next day I saw 2 strays just strolling down the side road a ways away. The land is gorgeous & sometime after midnight and throughout my morning coffee it was super peaceful.

Nick is an amazing host! Extremely responsive and great with communication and going above and beyond to help with any issues or questions we had during our stay. He gave us some great hiking recs as well! Beautiful off the grid private camping area with all that you would need for a quick and peaceful get away. Loved the out door kitchen and the compost loo with the view was so nice to have in the woods. 10 out 10 would recommend and hope to be back soon!

Overall, the stay was okay, but even though it says dogs must be on a leash, there were two dogs roaming freely that disturbed the stay. In addition, there was noise from hunting gunfire and ATVs, and there isn’t much privacy.

Great spread, lots of room to spread out, amazing set of amenities including couches, video games, a microwave, hot shower, super clean portapoty, and more. The hosts work really hard on their property, that is obvious. Had a great stay. Will be back. Do note 1)if you rely on att for cell service, during my stay I was never able to get cell service. The host does have WiFi available and that saved me! Not all camping spots can pick up the wifi as the wifi coverage is only at the front of the property. 2) During my stay, several stray random dogs cruised through the property. I share this in case you have dogs.
