Looking for the perfect getaway, you will find some peace and quiet here! Only 14.6 miles from I-40 and located on 97 acres, this campground is surrounded by nature, very secluded and private. There is a crystal-clear creek that runs parallel with the driveway and fresh spring water flowing from pipe in the rock close to the entrance on American Way. The creek is bio-diverse, filled with fascinating species, and spring fed, which means it stays cool in the summertime. There are three beautiful homes which are able to be rented out as well as a fourth home that is for the property managers. The A-frame log cabin at the top of the hill is called the Lodge. The second home, which is a two-story brown log Cabin, offers individual bedrooms. The third home is the Cottage. This is a special place and we are happy and honored to share it with you!
Peaceful Hills Retreat, a family owned business, started in May of 2017. It all began when Jennifer’s brilliant brother booked a two-story home through Airbnb for Jennifer and the family for a week in the Carolinas. Their Airbnb vacation was a great experience, and she loved having a kitchen to cook in, while traveling with her large family. She gladly said goodbye to tiny hotel rooms. Linda and her daughter, Jennifer realized they desired to run a BnB, and watched the scattered pieces beautifully fall into place.
Peaceful Hills Retreat is also a wedding venue. There are three beautiful spots for a lovely outdoor wedding. The waterfall site is a favorite. The lodge is a beautiful place for the reception to take place outdoors

We came to this magical place to found a self-reliant, homesteading eco-community when I retired from corporate life in 2006. It's called the Village on Sewanee Creek, named for the creek 800 feet below the bluff where we are located.
I traveled the world as a senior executive for Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin' Donuts, Papa Johns, Blockbuster, 7-Eleven and other retail franchises, making the world safe for Pizza, Ice Cream, Pancakes Video Rentals and American convenience. And I was ready for something more fufilling. I scouted for a place of exquisite natural beauty and I found it here. I bought way too much land just before the real estate bust and learned how to turn a nice fortune into a very small one.
I faced challenges and had lots of fun. Now I want to share our experience.

Spend your days cooling off in natural swimming holes, floating along the creek, or casting a line for smallmouth and redeye bass. The area is rich with wildlife—you may spot otters, mink, deer, and a variety of birds ranging from songbirds to bald eagles. In spring and early summer, wildflowers blanket the forest floor, bringing vibrant color to your hikes.
Nearby Attractions
A short walk downstream leads you to Waterloo Falls, a scenic destination featuring two waterfalls, outdoor recreation areas, and an event space. Guests can access this area by adding a day-use fee to their reservation (details provided after booking). This hidden paradise has a waterfall that used to have a mill on it in the early 1900's. There are cliffs on each side of the creek making it the perfect spot for serene relaxation. Following upstream is an assortment of spots to pitch a tent. The most notable sites are surrounded by hemlock tree's and is peaceful when birds chirp over the small rapids echoing from the large overhang
*I am in the process of making multiple sites but until I do so it is first come first serve. There are multiple sites at main campsite and along creek, I've had a private event of thirty people staying at once. There are also smaller spots next to waterfall, uphill near cliff and I've had people go below falls for some complete wilderness (blocked by gorge and waterfall). With this being said, I do offer private bookings and accommodate special events!
*I travel for work, so I won't always be here, but I will send directions and details after confirmation and make sure all is savvy during. Please be respectful to one and another and let me know asap if any issues arise but truthfully everyone has been amazing and I thoroughly enjoy meeting and getting to know everyone!

Learn more about this land:You’ll cross the covered bridge (clearance 11’6” ) as you enter our farm, a 73 acre small family farm, nestled in the Buffalo Valley of Northeast TN, and featuring a down home country atmosphere. What makes our farm special are all of the unique extras: a working log cabin blacksmith shop, log cabin art gallery, certified commercial kitchen, lots of watchable wildlife, and walking trails. We have a one acre wildlife pond and a smaller pond fed by springs and Buffalo Creek, which runs through the farm. We loved our two night stay at the Beech Tree House. The Tree House is an admirable and creative construction nestled on the edge of a cliff right next to a Beech tree. It was fun to stay on the futon bed which is under a roof but on the edge of being 'outside' - so one could listen to night sounds, watch the night sky, and drift in and out of dreams. The night sky was incredible with so many stars!
The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cook. There was also a grill and a firepit. The shower was strong and warm.
Our daughter who loves art and drawing enjoyed the sketches and paintings guests have left in the Treehouse. She added to the collection.
This was our second stay at The Falls at Sewanee Creek. The first time we stayed in the Trampoline Tree Tent - also fun, but more bare bones than the Tree House. We love the grounds, the opportunity to wander down the gorge at the base of the water fall, and all of the creative dwellings and whimsical art that are around the property.
Grant and Becky are fantastic and thoughtful hosts. Check in and check out was easy and quick, always coupled with an interesting conversation with Grant.
We came back for a second visit because we loved everything about The Falls at Sewanee Creek, and because there are great hikes nearby with beautiful old growth forests and rock formations (check out the Fiery Gizzard Trail).

Serenity. We found John’s site easily enough in the dark. Its a cleared area with beautiful views and is oh so quiet. You can see a house from the site but we still felt private. John was kind enough to bring us some wood for a small fee. We didn’t venture out to see what was around because we found the spot so relaxing.

We had such a peaceful stay at Waterloo Cascades! The river was beautiful and so enjoyable to spend time by, and the privacy made it feel like a true escape. The amenities were great and made the stay comfortable without taking away from the natural setting. It was the perfect place to slow down, relax, listen to the river, and enjoy the night sky. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway where you can unplug and enjoy nature, this is a wonderful spot. We would absolutely come back!

Such a great setup! Was really wonderful property to camp at. They had very clear instructions and were communicative and were welcoming. So close to hiking trails and waterfalls! We will stay there again for sure.

Really great campground! A good mix between primitive and not! Most sites had access to water and electricity and while we didn’t use it, it’s nice to know for the future! Washrooms with lots of hot water, private toilets and showers. Excellent location right next to the state park.

Perfect camp site . Great night views of the stars great little creek. Could not have found a more quiet or peaceful site. Saw 2 cars the whole weekend go by on the road. Exactly what I was looking for. Puppies got to roam free. They loved it

My partner and I had such a great time! We definitely want to stay at Belle & Beau again; we really enjoyed the peacefulness of campsite 3 and exploring the creek! Unfortunately, my car battery died and Christine was so helpful in jumping my car 🙌 we can’t wait to stay again!! 😊
