WINTER OFF-ROAD CONDITIONS: The campground off road drive is closed through at least February 2023, possibly longer based on conditions. Guests are welcome to park at the entrance in the driveway area and hike-in to their chosen campsite. Expect a hilly terrain, about a quarter-mile to half-mile hike. Whether you're looking for peace, relaxation, or riverside adventure, Belle and Beau Acres hits the mark. Multi-nominated and voted Best of Tennessee, our location offers a bit of everything while situated in the most convenient spot for Upper Cumberland waterfalls, hiking, kayaking, lake life and more. A short list of what to expect on site includes: PRIVACY - ADVENTURE - GETAWAY Spacious, shady, leaf-bed campsites 360 degree views of relaxing nature Two shallow lazy rivers for soaking Multiple spring-fed creeks Hidden ledge waterfall (about a 20 foot drop) Rock shelter formation Countless water cascades for exploring Numerous trails leading to water Wide open pastures for star gazing Old forests for ample shade and hammock hanging Here you'll enjoy a private camping experience conveniently located between Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga. The host family lives in a house at the entrance of the property, while the remainder of acreage is preserved for a nature enthusiasts dream come true. After selecting the appropriate campsite, guests are welcome to camp with a tent, vehicle, smaller camper, hammock tent, roof top tent, pop-up camper and similar styles. Setup camp under the shady tree canopy at any one of our sites described below. Most of the photos in this listing are taken onsite. Access to fresh water fun is a short down-hill hike for all guests, with the exception of our hike-in campsites which are positioned alongside the river. Each spot has been strategically selected to provide as much privacy as possible, and comfortably accommodates groups with two vehicles. We provide a rock fire pit and heavy duty cast iron grill grate. The hike-in sites come with extra seating. You provide everything else, including drinking water and personal toilet waste bags if you plan to use our system. Children ages 5 and younger are welcome to camp for free. Everyone else must be added as additional guests on your reservation. Thank you! This campground is off-road and conditions are unpredictable. Due to the primitive nature of our location, all reservations should expect potential bumpy or muddy road access, especially after heavy rain. December-February is usually the worst and may require hiking in. We ask all guests to help us minimize impacts by driving with care. We do not recommend vehicles that are positioned lower to the ground such as sedans or minivans. However, 4wd has not been needed and guests always have the choice to park their vehicles and hike-in which is less than a half-mile for all campsites. COMMUNITY COMFORT STATION: There is a comfort station with an outdoor shower stall for hanging your own solar shower bag. The comfort station also includes a changing room which doubles as a private place to use your portable camping toilet. A toilet seat and bucket system is provided but guests will need to use their own waste disposal bags. The backside of the comfort station has a rain barrel (not potable) collection system for extinguishing fires. CAMPSITE 1 : A level, spacious site, and our best option for small campers, roof top tents, popups or travel vans. Very shady and situated in the woods under tall trees. Plenty of space for extra tents and hammocks. Only a few steps away from a large field for stargazing and our hiking trails. This site is a good choice for bigger groups. CAMPSITE 2 Hike In: Accommodates tents, hammocks, and includes seating for two. Guests park at the top of the main trail near the comfort station and hike in on a short but steep path (1/10th of a mile), tucked alongside a babbling, shallow, rock bed river. It is a shady site, perched about 6-8 feet above the water level and does not have a guard rail or fencing, caution is required. Has private stone steps leading to the water. One nice spot for a tent with extra space for shelters or hammocks. The adjoining hike in campsite is just far enough away to maintain privacy but close enough to camp with friends or family if you'd like to grab both sites. CAMPSITE 3: A very spacious campsite, situated closest to the comfort station, in the woods, on the outskirts of a large field. It has a very slight slope in the parking portion, but has many options for level tent sites and hammocks. It can easily accommodate small campers, roof top tents or smaller travel vans. Guests can sometimes hear the rushing creek below. A great option for larger groups. CAMPSITE 4 Hike In: Accommodates tents and hammocks. Guests park at the top of the main trail near the comfort station and hike in on a short but steep path. Site 4 is a large site tucked alongside a babbling, shallow, rock bed river and is shady. It is perched about 6-8 feet above the water level and does not have a guard rail or fencing, caution is required. Has private stone steps leading to the water. The adjoining hike in campsite is just far enough away to maintain privacy but close enough to camp with friends or family if you'd like to grab both sites. CAMPSITE 5: A tent only site where vehicles must park at the opening. It is closest to our entrance for easiest vehicle access, but farthest away from the comfort station and hiking trails. Situated on the edge of a large field under tall trees, it has extra space for playing yard games, and a small clothesline for damp towels. This campsite is very shady and spacious, a group can easily fit 3 tents. There is a short private trail to a small spring-fed creek. An overlook of the forest hillside is best observed in spring and fall. CAMPSITE 6: Accommodates small groups or single travelers passing through who are mostly looking for a peaceful place to rest. Recommended for quick overnight stays since this spot is a bit tricky with a down-hill pitch, but very doable with the right setup. The only level section is at the entrance of the site where your vehicle will park. Expect to fit only one smaller tent or a teardrop style camper with leveling options (See the photo labeled site 6). There is a beautiful old beech tree in the center providing lots of shade, and plenty of spots to hang hammocks in addition to a ground surface tent. There is a private trail to a small spring fed stream where you can sit by the water and wet your toes. From this site, walk out about 200 feet to a large pasture for star gazing. When you stay here, you will be at the center of some of the most amazing natural attractions Tennessee has to offer, plus only minutes away from award winning craft breweries, historical stops, and the Upper Cumberland rail-to-trail bike path. Explore numerous large waterfalls in the area, spend a day on Center Hill Lake, or kayak the Caney River. This is primitive and wild Tennessee landscape that may contain poisonous plants and wildlife in or around campsites. Located on the Eastern Highland Rim in the lower Appalachian's, this area sits at the Upper Cumberland Plateau and is part of Tennessee's largest micropolitan area of Cookeville. Belle and Beau Acres is an organized primitive camping location, conveniently located less than five minutes from I40. Expect nothing short of 360 degree views of relaxing nature, privacy, and spontaneous adventure when staying at BBA. Central to the most beautiful middle Tennessee destinations, this location provides the prefect home base for day excursions to our state parks and lakes. Conveniently located between Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga in the lower Appalachian mountains, on the Eastern Highland Rim. Visit popular nearby attractions such as Cummins Falls, Burgess Falls, Fancher Falls, Greeter Falls, Fall Creek Falls, Blue Hole, Rock Island, Center Hill Lake and many more. The Klein family lives at the entrance of their 33 acre personal nature preserve, hosting primitive camping and leaning into a homesteading lifestyle. On the land, they enjoy their private waterfall, organic gardening, foraging for wild edibles, hiking, and exploring their onsite rivers and natural springs. Your host Christine loves sewing in her onsite fiber studio while her husband David is often found in his organic garden or tending to the bees. Their son Elliott is a student at Tennessee Tech University and their daughter Freya is a student at Upperman High School. David, Elliott, and Freya also enjoy playing music together in their band My Heart Your Heart. We had a great time here. This was an impromptu last min camping weekend and Christine was very responsive and helpful through the entire booking. Unfortunately it rained quite a bit so we didn’t get to enjoy all the hiking she has to offer, however her property is beautiful and very well maintained. We can not wait to go back and enjoy it in better weather in the future.

Can’t say enough good things about this beautiful spot! Conveniently located not far from the main highway, yet far enough away to really feel like you’re away from it all. Christine was so quick to reply to every message and I really appreciated that. Thank you again and I will be spreading the word!

Great experience!
I was totally enjoyed my few days trip over Belle an Beau Acres. The best thing about it was the atmosphere, having a camping tent next to the stream and sometimes see some wild animals!

Peaceful Camping
I absolutely loved camping on Christine’s land. The vibes were great. The perfect place for a getaway. Quiet, peaceful, and isolated. Check in was so easy going - multiple trails to hike and the stargazing was my favorite. Cooked dinner over the campfire. If you’re thinking of booking this site, do it. You won’t regret it!

Must go
What a spectacular spot, Very well done, intentional and extremely well kept. Christine preserved the natural aspects and wild experiences you would expect while camping but put in a lot of effort and extras to make sure you are safe, grounds are clean and there is no guesswork. The property itself is breathtaking from the 100% tree canopy to the rushing creek which impressively had great flow despite the drought.

gorgeous TN getaway
This was a beautiful campsite with multiple small trails to explore. They have a self-service firewood station which was super useful. Christine was incredibly sweet and always available if needed. My only negative would be that you can hear the highway and there was a lot of gunfire nearby which scared my pup. Otherwise, such a beautiful getaway with a waterfall, gorgeous creek and field for stargazing.

Site 5 was great. Loved being able to step out from under the forest canopy and see the stars. Was able to set up my tarp and hammock in one spot that didn't have any poisoning ground cover or vines on trees.

The site 4 campsite hike is not for the weak but the view you get to stay in is SO worth it. Work hard for the greater return because it was beyond tranquil, I can’t believe this hidden gem exists so close to all the other beautiful landmarks of the plateau! We will be returning ♥️

Site 2 - Babbling Creek
Our camping adventure was absolutely enjoyable - hiking to the site was an easy path, but carrying things back up was a bit more difficult. Campsite was comfortable with chairs as well as plenty of tree options. Host was friendly and purchasing firewood on site was convenient. Access to the little river was enjoyable with the nicely laid stone steps. My dogs loved the stay too! Barely saw site 4 except lights at night or when campers walked the path. Learned our lesson to pay attention to higher ground - watch out for the drainage path because our tent site flooded during heavy rains - just be mindful! If the forecast calls for clear skies or a little drizzle, then you should have nothing to worry about. Enjoyed the sounds of nature and the darkness of the night. 100% recommend! It’s a great spot if you’re planning to visit nearby state parks!

Lovely creek-side camping!
We were at site 4, and loved it! We’ve camped at Belle and Beau Acres several times, but this was our first time camping creek side. The site is spacious (we had 2 tents), well-kept, with a lovely fire pit and 4 wooden chairs. The creek provided a lovely soundtrack for the weekend, and we did a creek hike up stream aways (highly recommend, just be sure to stay in the creek and off private property). Christine is a great host, we will definitely be back.
