Absolutely amazing! Jimmys hospitality was unmatched! Such a great open area - fun swing for the kids and the low creek was perfect to walk through or relax with some fold out chairs with your feet in the river. The rv was great and has everything you need. Such a beautiful area - well kept and clear pathways and safe crossings from the rv to the fire pit! He’s got a grill plate right on the fire pit perfect for cooking and a nice outdoor cooking area and big table with chairs. We loved it & our kids had the best time. Jimmy and his property were the best! Can’t wait to come back!

1 night at Caney Hollow Creek Retreat

Amazingly peaceful and idyllic, steps away a babbling creek. Loved it. Have to say, the owner totally understands the assignment. He was attentive and communicated very well. We are relatively new RVers and got ourselves stuck in the mud. He spent an hour getting us out of the mud and gave us a few driving tips beside. Class act!! Don't pass this one up!!

Weekend Trip to Caney Hollow Creek Retreat

Our stay was so peaceful and beautiful (site #3.) We were the only ones there so our old terrier lived his best life bouncing through the meadow. The creek was gorgeous but our absolute favorite magical experience was the firefly (or lightening bug) show each night. Literally like Christmas lights—the fireflies lit up in the 40 ft tall trees all around us. Super dark skies which makes for excellent star gazing. Hosts were perfect—immediately accessible when we needed them but gave us privacy for a much needed break from the grind. We love to visit new places and don’t often plan on visiting the same place twice, but this will be the exception. Cannot wait to return!

Weekend Trip to Sacred Dog Ranch

We stayed at the ranch two nights while visiting family in Fairview. The property is not far from Hwy 40. You enter on a tree-lined driveway and our 20 foot travel trailer was fine. Easy hook up to 30amp, water may need additional hose. The owners are very welcoming and loved letting us see their unique property. There are dogs (who stay near Lisa and the residence) and horses (in their paddock). We had two relaxing, starry nights with no AC needed - in June! It's a great place to stop over when traveling on Hwy 40 or to stay a while and see the area.

Weekend Trip to Rock Creek Wooded Campground

I loved tent camping here! The creek beside the campground was just perfect as well. We used our floaties to lay out on the creek and that was so much fun. The shade was a huge bonus especially during these hot summer months. We will be returning in the cooler months

Beautiful property and friendly hosts. My kids got to name kittens and enjoyed seeing all the livestock. We spent hours roaming around the gardens or in the woods, down to the creek. The cabin is very cool. My wife and I particularly enjoyed sitting on the porch for an afternoon rain storm. Quick drive to Lenny’s Country Kitchen for great food.

7 nights at Caney Hollow Creek Retreat

What a great hidden gem!!! We had just a short 2.5 hour drive to get here, and we were so excited to see it when we pulled in. Quiet, and serene, but with full hookups. We were the only ones there, so our two dogs got to run and play, a lot! :-) The wife and I have been looking for a place like this for a long time, and I think we just found it. Lindsey was a great host. Very hospitable, and easy to talk to. We appreciated the clean and friendly environment that he has to offer here.

Lionsgate Campground

Enjoy glamping in our optional 2017 19' retro style camper with a bathroom and kitchen or go primitive and set up your tent or hammock by the waterfalls and rough it. 2 sites have electricity. No bathrooms or showers if you're Just 35 minutes west of Loveless Cafe' in Nashville and 20 minutes south of the Dickson exit at I40. The 48 acre campground has just 3 big tent sites for more seclusion and is almost all old forest with wide trails and huge old growth trees. There is about a 1/2 acre of field to park in between the road and the creek if you don't have an off road vehicle. The rest is woods. Mother Nature has a lot to offer when you cross the creek into the first two campsites that are on the 30' creek. One big spring runs through the middle of the 2 sites with small cascading waterfalls. Both sites have string lights and 120V extension cords. These two sites are separated by the driveway and about 150' apart but a bridge connects the two if you have another couple that wants to join you these two spots are perfect for privacy and companionship. Expand the pictures to a full screen as you scroll so the description will show up at the bottom of the picture. Not all pictures are on the property but describe close places to visit as well. FIREWOOD: Split wood is available upon request and sold in the area (if it's available at the time) or any fallen dead wood from the forest is free. $7.00 for a 20" bundle. Please let us know ahead of time or order it on the site. SITE 1: The nicer of the two sites along the creek, has granite counters, a round fire pit with a fold down heavy cooking grate, charcoal grill and a large wrought iron table and chairs. RENT A CAMPER WITH SITE 1 or BRING YOUR PERSONAL CAMPER: Our retro style 2017 option on the other side of the creek with stairs and stones to cross the creek. Sometimes the walking stones get washed out. 30 amp. 240 and 120 volt plugs. Click on additional fees for camper electrical hook up. SITE 2: Also along side the 30' creek. There is a round steel fire pit surrounded with wrought iron chairs, a separate picnic table, granite countertop work space and a small grill. 2 fairly flat areas for tents. Set your chairs in the creek in front of your site. The clear cold water is a great place to relax and cool off or watch crawfish, minnows and salamanders and the occasional blue herron. 120V and string lights. Parking is a little tight unless you're in a Jeep of more off road vehicle that can park up the hill a bit. SITE 3: "Still Hollow" is more private and located right in the middle valley of the property where a different spring fed creek runs down the wooded valley. There is no electricity but you can still enjoy the sound of small cascading waterfalls and a creek that runs along the side of the site for a relaxing sleep. There is a granite countertop, charcoal grill and a fire ring. A small round wrought iron table and 4 chairs are there for a place to eat lunch. The old moonshine barrels are still barely standing by the spring. This site is also accessed from the opposite side of the campground on Ben Fly Rd or Greer Rd for the serious off roaders. 4 wheel drive may be necessary but a Hyundai car entered through the creek in 2 wheel drive. It was dry though. STAR GAZING for all 3 sites: There is a cleared area on top of a hill side for stargazing far from the city lights. CHECK IN: Check in can be as early as like if the present campers have checked out. You can always hang out elsewhere on the property and start your day to explore and hike till they leave. Just let us know in advance. And you can stay all day the day of check out but you may have to pack up and park elsewhere if other campers need the spot. If not. Stay till dark. PHOTOS: EXPAND THE PHOTOS TO A SINGLE VIEW! Some photos are of nearby attractions. You can see the description of each photo and which site is in the picture when you expand them. VEHICLE TYPE AND PARKING: In order to drive up into the campsite, you may need a 4x4 vehicle but definitely need ground clearance. If you do not have a 4x4 vehicle or ground clearance, that is okay, park in the field and bring your water shoes for campsite 2. There are stairs and usually stepping stones to cross over to Site 1. Stepping stones for site 2 are coming soon. LOCAL ACTIVITIES: 4 WHEELING!!! FISHERS OFF ROAD RENTALS https://www.fishersoffroadrentals.com/ TOUR THE AREA IN A CAN-AM: Check out 'Fisher's Off Road' to rent a really nice 4 seater CAN-AM machine. Drive around the local dirt roads for miles and learn the history of Moon Shine Alley, drive through many creeks and see some beautiful views. We took to tour with Fisher and it was a blast. This company supports the locals and cleans up the trash on the sides of the roads; a great service to the area. Peekaboo Meadows & The Big Red Barn

Learn more about this land: Situated just outside of Columbia, TN (one of the state's most up-and-coming cities) and right on the same road as our 11th President, James K. Polk, once lived - Peekaboo Meadows & The Big Red Barn are waiting to welcome you! Pull in, drive down the grass road and over the small creek, put it in park at the barn and go stretch your legs on the 4o+ acres surrounding. During the day, feel welcome to walk the serene meadows or take a cleared trail up the ridge to the treehouse! Don't be surprised to be greeted by all kinds of wildlife including deer, turkey, foxes, or our goofy, fun-loving Golden Doodle named "Shme." If walking isn't your thing, you are welcome to drive around (4wd recommended) to go scout out where you'd like to set up camp for the night. If you prefer more peace and privacy, there are two beautiful meadows to choose from which both reach deeper into the property. If you'd prefer the comfort of additional shelter, you are welcome to park and/or set yourself up at the barn instead (which is a little closer to the main road). There is power to the barn - providing light, 30AMP power for RV hookup, as well as an electrical receptacle that you can run your extension chords from. For the extra adventurous - you may want to take a hike up "Thornbush Trail," which follows the ridge right up the middle of the property and has beautiful views of both meadows to either side. Or, for a more direct route, take a walk right up our dirt access road to the upper ridge, where you can peek through the treeline for beautiful elevated views eastward toward Columbia. Our treehouse (in progress) is located right at the top of the access road. Though the treehouse has not yet been completed, feel free to climb the 20' ladder up the inside of the hollowed out trunk and pop your head out the top! It sure makes a great photo! Come back to the barn area in the evening to lounge in the hammock, hang out around the picnic table, or cook dinner and roast some marshmallows over the wood burning fire pit with cooking grill attachment (fireside tools & 1 bundle of firewood provided). One filtered and cooled 5 gallon portable Igloo water cooler will also be provided and placed on the picnic table outside the barn. One rolling 96 gallon covered trash bin will be placed inside the barn (please bag your trash). "Luggable Loo" portable compost toilet is also available for use inside the barn. Tho cell & wifi are spotty here on the farm, we will provide one walkie talkie during your stay for direct communication with the main residence, should there be any issues or needs that arise. On the flip side, privacy is respected and use of the electronics is completely at your discretion! For recreation (each within 15-20 minutes of the farm): 1. Williamsport Public Fishing Lakes for fishing or kayaking 2. Stillhouse Hollow Falls Trail 3. Maury County Park with paved walking trail Yummy food: 1. Discover the unique charm of our PRIVATE Campground, a ministry of the Madison Baptist Association, nestled on 104 acres of serene, mostly wooded land in New Market, AL. This tranquil retreat is designed for churches and Christian-oriented groups, providing a peaceful environment for spiritual growth and fellowship. While our primary focus is on serving the Madison Baptist Association, we welcome other groups and individuals who respect our rules and policies. Our campground features an array of amenities to enhance your experience. Enjoy three scenic walking trails, two picturesque ponds, and two gentle creeks that invite exploration and relaxation. The expansive 5-acre field is perfect for group activities, while our two comfortable cabins, equipped with heating and cooling, offer a cozy place to unwind. The 2000 square foot bathhouse, also climate-controlled, ensures convenience for all guests. For gatherings, our pavilion, complete with a large fireplace, can accommodate up to 100 people and includes a gas grill for outdoor cooking. We provide firewood and have a playground area for children, along with six RV hook-ups and an exciting obstacle course for added fun. We are strictly tent camping, just nature and all it has to offer.Great riverfront campsites as well as more secluded wooded sites just a short walk away from the riverfront. Trails 1,2 & 3 are a hammock camper’s dream! Howlin’ Hill (formally Rats Nest Campground) has the best riverfront beach access on this stretch of the gorgeous Duck River. All of our campsites are shaded by a continuous tree canopy and each site is equipped with a fire pit. We have firewood for sale and will deliver it directly to your campsite. Early summertime offers an amazing light show performed by thousands of lightning bugs. Portlets are provided within walking distance from your site. Otherwise, it’s just you and nature!
