Camping with adorable animals!
Gorgeous camp, the hosts were super friendly, personable, and sweet! Loved all of the beautiful animals, and the tour was very detailed and inspiring. They're on such a beautifully refreshing mission to create a healing, regenerative space, and an accommodating site. Would love to come back!

Camping with animals at Sacred Dog
Lisa and Gary’s property and their vibe can’t fully be expressed in words. My kids and dog loved the peaceful nature of the farm, and we enjoyed taking our time to explore and learn. They are excellent hosts and made us feel welcome and to jus disconnect. For anyone looking to get away for a unique experience and camping location, this is it.

Farm casual. Loved it!
This gem is convenient, but perfectly tucked away. My wife and I camped in a small field right off the walking paths that lead to the animals. Really enjoyed the casual feel and our hosts were great. The Sacred Dog is awesome! Can’t wait to return!

Perfect location!
You wonder when the description says it’s magical if that’s just the owners talking up their space. This place a TRULY magical. Lisa and Gary are the owners of a truly magical location. If you love animals, which we do, enjoy socializing with hosts, and appreciate a different experience than just a regular camp ground location, this is the place to go. Lisa and Gary couldn’t be any more welcoming and accommodating. Their house is a “museum” of art and history, the property is an open animal rescue/preserve with animals wandering everywhere. Interacting with their fox, watching the geese and goats, visiting the horses and cattle, and watching and playing with the dogs and kittens who are fearless and as welcoming as the hosts was a treat! I can’t say enough about the enjoyment of the property and I can’t wait to go back when it is warmer to explore the trails. Thanks Lisa and Gary for sharing your space with us. We look forward to our return!

A magical place
I just randomly picked their place as I was traveling through and my only regret was only staying one night. Lisa and her family don’t only have a farm with goats, horses, cows, geese, chickens, etc but it’s also a work of art. Statues and painted murals and wind chimes and dozens of other surprises are scattered throughout the property. They aren’t only hosts, but artists and musicians and creative spirits and I wish I could have stayed longer. An amazing place that I’ve marked as a favorite and plan on stopping there anytime i travel through the Nashville area. It’s an otherworldly magical creation that is anything but ordinary. They were welcoming and gracious hosts and I look forward to spending another visit and wandering their land again.

Best booking I’ve ever made
This was my first booking on hipcamp and I feel like I hit the jackpot! Lisa and Gary are two of the most amazing people I’ve ever met and their farm is like a dream place. I had the best time hanging out there and I’ll definitely be back in the area only to stay with them again. They showed me around their beautiful cabins and I got to see all their gorgeous animals (they have a lot!) and I heard Gary play his songs (he’s a fantastic musician) and they even let me ride one of the horses. It was an iconic experience! 100% recommended.

If you are looking for peace and serenity in a beautiful setting, near Nashville this is the place for you. Lisa and Gary could not have been kinder or more accommodating to us before and during our stay. When they aren’t tending to the animals, Gary is an amazing musician/songwriter/recording artist and Lisa makes herbal remedies, and creatively decorates their home and gardens with much beloved and fun eclectic pieces.
The farm is home to many rescue animals which they tend to with kindness and love always. They have horses, a donkey, cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, foxes, chickens, turkeys, peacocks, geese, a parrot, cockatoo, cats and the most wonderful rescue dogs who always are ready to greet you.
The sites are large and flat with beautiful surroundings and lovely sunsets. They have water and electricity available if needed and love to share their property with their guests.

Wasn't able to spend much time as we were just passing through, but the camping area was mowed down and level for our tent with taller grass around for privacy which I appreciate. Friendly, responsive host, good vibes all around. Got to see some cute sheep as we were packing out.

My Sacred Dog stay was simply incredible. I van camped by the picnic table spot near the sheep pasture and loved every minute. Lisa and Gary are beyond fantastic hosts. Can't wait to go back!

A true gem of a place!
I had an amazing stay at Sacred Dog Ranch! Lisa and Gary are great hosts and have a beautiful property with hidden treasures to admire and sweet farm animals to visit everywhere. The pictures listed don’t really portray just how special it is here! It’s so peaceful and amazing here that I don’t even want to leave- I just want to spend time hanging out here to enjoy the company, the atmosphere, and the animals. Lisa brought me over an amazing bee pollen, ginger and honey mocktail that was so delicious and I’ve had the privilege of trying some of her fresh soup with ingredients from the garden which was amazing! Gary plays music and is an amazing artist so it’s been a treat to get to hear his music while I’ve been here. And if you’re going into Nashville area or anywhere around it’s an easy drive and really scenic. I highly recommend visiting and staying here! You’re going to want extra time to spend here too- just saying!!! Extend your stay.

Our stay at The Sacred Dog could not have been better. Lisa and Gary have created a safe, inviting, and gracious space. The Sacred Dog is a safe space for members of the lgbtq+ community. We were surrounded by mind stimulating conversation, beautiful art, and tons of animals (we got to ride the horses!). We got there late and it was super easy to find out tenting spot, plenty of room to have our privacy and also be welcomed into their home area for community.

Uniquely Awesome!
This was a wonderful stop off. We stayed for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The land is beautiful and well kept. There are a wide variety of animals to enjoy who are able to live as nature intended. They also have 🐝’s and a big garden😁. It’s a peaceful place with hard working, down to earth, friendly hosts who hope to bring a positive vibe to all who visit. Their home is an old wood cabin dating back to the 1700’s. Truly a unique treasure. There is much to see and do, both on their land and nearby. We visited Nashville and an adorable little town called, Leipers Fork, definitely worth a visit. Just one note, they will be adding more electric hookups in the future, but just 15 amp available at this time. We managed just fine!

We enjoyed staying on Lisa’s farm! We parked our 28ft RV near her pasture. No water or electric hookup yet. Driveway is a bit tight, but we made it just fine.
She also took us on a tour of her farm and we got to see the animals!

Lisa is a great host. Super responsive and accommodating. The sanctuary is gorgeous too. We camped right next to the fence and woke up to the horses in the morning. Also loved all their dogs! I would recommend this place to anyone. Amazing experience!

Stopped off overnight on a road trip to sleep. The location was very convenient to the interstate. Host was very friendly and accommodating with me arriving late and gave very clear specific directions. They even made a great suggestion for breakfast on my journey the next day. Would definitely stay again!

A peaceful night sleep
A beautiful sweet spot to sleep and sit by the fire . We woke up to a beautiful sunrise and horse snuggles. Grateful for the warm welcome via email and by Katie the care taker… enjoyed the goats and chickens and smiling peaceful Buddha’s and chimes. .

Safe and Welcoming
We arrived at dark, and it was no problem for Lisa at all. The directions were clear, and she was very reachable and comunicative. We stayed one night and felt very safe and welcomed. Met a couple animals and met Aiden the groundskeeper.(Sorry if thats mispelled!) Wouls have l9ved to stay longer but we are just stopping by on our way to Utah From Delaware. Hope to visit again soon!

Super cool hippy vibe camp here! Lisa was awesome and gave us a little tour of her farm and the many animals on site. They had water and bathrooms available and the sites were very clean and flat. Keep your eye on this spot!

Lisa and Gary were very nice hosts and were extremely accommodating when we had to cut our trip short for a personal emergency. Property was beautiful and would stay here again!
