Once a place where Whisky was made under prohibition, the regulators came and bashed down the stills that are still standing along the stream banks. This area was a bulwark for natives that hunted and fished along the stream banks, and there's artifacts that can still can be observed along the canyon where hikers can enjoy. Learn more about this land: Get away from the city and hike where others would love to hike yet have no access to! There's a lot to be discovered at Flora and Fauna Camp! Discover the canyon, stream, and much more!  It's blackberry season from June through the beginning of July, so if you'd like to pick blackberries that's a perfect time!

Sundappled Lush Haven inCountryside
If you want a beautiful spot in the country, this is your spot. They are a lovely couple, helpful and communicative. They’ve gone out of their way to make sure we knew how to get there and are comfortable. We’ve spent one night and are already booking a second! Thanks for a sweet camping experience!

Valerie and her husband were very kind and helpful! The drive to the spot is absolutely beautiful but so be prepared for the last two minutes to be bumpy. Very peaceful and quiet lots but bring tick repellent as they are everywhere. Overall we stayed for about a month and had no issues! :)

A Really Nice Spot with a Caveat
I just spent a nice overnight at F&F, although getting there was a bit tricky. Recommended that you avoid any GPS directions that take you to Denton Allen Road, which is washed out. Waze sent me that way, so I switched to Google Maps and it got me to the correct location. The road leading to their property is a dirt and gravel road with some potholes, so it can be a bit bouncy, but my low-profile tires did just fine. Just go slow. Valerie and Ron were very kind hosts. Their land is quite pretty, with lots of lovely oaks. I wasn't able to get down to the scenic creek due to a dodgy knee, but had a nice, invigorating hike nonetheless. I'd read previous reviews talking about ticks, so prepared in advance by spraying gear that would be touching the ground, including my boots, with Permethrin insect repellent; this seemed to keep the ticks away from me (I only saw two while there). The campsite (site 2) did have an abundance of poison ivy and poison oak, which Ron and Valerie did warn about, so be prepared for that. However, you're in the woods, so bitey bugs and poisonous plants should be expected. What wasn't expected was the noise. Across the creek and maybe a half mile on the other side are other homesteads and there appears to have been a target-shooting and offroad vehicle party going on. The afternoon/evening was quite loud with it, although they tapered off before bedtime. Barking dogs can be heard in the distance. Overall, I had a nice time and would return.

The hosts were very friendly/kind and made sure I had everything I needed. I enjoyed having a campfire with plenty of wood around to use. There’s also Morelle mushrooms growing on the property and a natural spring with fresh water! Highly recommend

Excellent!
We had really nice time here and do plan to return. Valerie and her husband are great hosts. Make sure to call if you need clarification on directions. I saw some people say there wasn’t phone service - I have Verizon and it worked just fine. Valerie is great to communicate with. We booked here at like, 7pm and arrived at 9pm. So nice to accommodate us at the very last minute. We just used our car headlights to help set up our tent. The review mentioning ticks is correct - be prepared and check yourself after camping.

Such nice people, felt very secluded without being super far from town. Signal was fine, we had a great stay! We did have to deal with some ticks, but the hosts brought us coffee in the morning and we had an awesome stay. Definitely coming here again!

Very pleasant, kind, and responsive but just a plot of grass down a very rough road. No bathroom available though the listing says there is one. The owner offered their personal bathroom to make up for this.

Beautiful & Simple Overnight Stay
Wish we had more time to stay and enjoy Valerie’s beautiful property! We were greeted when we arrived and where graciously shown where to park and set up. There’s lots of land to hike around and enjoy the views, and the drive into Nashville is quick and easy.

This site is nice and quiet, far from town, but spacious and fairly easy to get in and out of. Even though the roads are all shown on the map, GPS will only take you so far and then you have to rely on directions or follow the host in. He met us at a designated place and guided us in. Very friendly and responsive host!

Valerie and Ron are some of the nicest most heartfelt, warm hosts i have ever met in my life and i'm still in disbelief at the hospitality received. We were put up, received coffee, and a big bbq. Why anyone would stay at a hotel when people like this exist ceases to amaze me. I will stay here always whenever in the area. God bless em both!

Nosy neighbor
Upon arrival, I was not pleased at how close to the road the campsite was and how many briars were hanging over into the cleared campsite. I was hoping for some more privacy (being deeper in the woods and further off of the main road) but we ignored it and just built a fire and got our camp set up. We had several loud trucks pass near the campsite in the evening and into the night due to the campsite location being near an intersection that had a decent amount of traffic. Which is saying a lot because there wasn't much around. However, the night was still fun and enjoyable and we all slept peacefully minus a few dogs that we could hear off in the distance. The next morning(6:45am), as we were all just getting out of our tents and getting a fire and some coffee going, we noticed that there was a truck parked close to our campsite. I didn't think too much of this but around 7am we heard the vehicle crank and saw his headlights pulling out and then into our campsite. A man had already stepped out of his truck and was walking unannounced into our campsite when I made contact with him. He asked me if we were hunting, which we were obviously not, asked if I was related to Valerie and Ron, then proceeded to tell me not to hunt on his property which was across the road from our campsite. I plainly told him, that we had paid for this campsite and would really appreciate it if he left our campsite. Begrudgingly, he left. We were not happy with that experience and we all felt unsafe by the whole incident. The man, didn't announce his name or ask if it was okay for him to approach our camp. We felt very violated by this whole situation.

Flora and Fauna
Flora and Fauna has the potential to be an awesome getaway campsite, however there are somethings to note. You will need a little bit of clearance with your vehicle/camper once you reach the private road because it is a bit bumpy/uneven. Valerie’s husband was great and guided us through! Once parked he showed us around and pointed out the trails, etc., and we were excited to explore with our dogs! Then came the news that a guest had to leave early because his dog was getting an unmanageable amount of ticks. We opted to stay because it was getting late. Unfortunately we experienced a similar situation - within the first 20 min of getting setup, both our dogs and ourselves were becoming covered in ticks. We spent the rest of the night in our camper, unable to enjoy the fire or the outdoors. Valerie and her husband were very accommodating and helpful, but the ticks were pretty problematic and made for an unpleasant stay. If this problem could be addressed this would be an ideal camping experience!

Southern hospitality at its finest.
We had the perfect day away from everyone and everything. Valerie gave us good directions but believe the reviews that say the gps directions will lead you astray. Valerie was the perfect hostess and the property was as described. We spent the day hiking in primitive wilderness. Saw wild turkey, butterflies, birds, salamanders and all manner of ticks. We followed the natural springs through a bedrock canyon and enjoyed the seclusion and adventure of it all. No toilet but we read that in a previous review so we were prepared.

Valerie and Ron were wonderful hosts! Their property has many rolling hills and springs. We sat atop one hill where we could watch the sun rise and set. Remote and quiet (except for listening to nature)

The drive from the highway into camp has no cell coverage so make sure to connect with Valerie first. This is very remote and exactly what we were looking for! Nature at it’s finest. Sitting at the top of a ridge we watched the Sun rise and set. Spring was starting to arrive and the Tennessee clay can get saturated with heavy rains. Bring what you need and leave nothing behind. We shall return!
