Low Meadow Farms (formerly Brown Bike Farms) is a serene four-acre meadow bordered by Burnett Creek. The campground is an easy distance to Downtown Knoxville and an even easier access to all that South Knox's Urban Wilderness has to offer. It uniquely offers a hint of backcountry camping without the 25-mile hike in. It is a great way to test the waters for primitive camping or an easy stop close to the city for a seasoned traveler. It is best suited for car camping, RVs, tent, and hammock camping.
There are fire pits and picnic tables at each site with enough room for tents and RVs. Most sites have trees suitable for hammock camping all along the creek.
There is potable water, firewood for sale, solar showers, and a bike wash stand all next to the covered communal area.
Each standard site can accommodate 2 people to keep space between groups and lessen the impact on the land. Sites 10 and 13 can each accommodate 6 guests. If you have more in your group, we recommend reserving an adjoining campsite.
Sites 1, 2 and 3 are off the main path to the left of the property, and still by the creek. Sites 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are all along the creek and gravel drive Site 10 is very private with creek access on three sides. Site 11 is private with creek access all along the front. Site 12 is up high on a hill, and Site 13 is open in the middle of the meadow.

Running Water Creek is a unique, fully off grid campground just 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga. We have 80+ campsites spread out over 120 acres. Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar-powered as we are not on the electric grid.

-we have gravel roads with a 5 MPH speed limit on the property (if you drive too fast the roads will seem rough)
-we are right next to a highway and train tracks so there will be some noise (some days are better than others and we have no way of predicting how many trains will/will not go by)

Please read the site descriptions carefully to match your style of camping with the appropriate campsite. BBA guests frequently camp with a tent, vehicle, smaller camper, hammock tent, roof top tent, pop-up camper and similar styles. Most photos in this listing are taken onsite. Please keep in mind this is primitive and wild Tennessee landscape that may also contain poisonous plants and wildlife in or around camp.
Access to fresh water fun is a short down-hill hike for all guests, with the exception of our hike-in campsites which are positioned alongside the river. Each spot has been strategically selected to provide as much privacy as possible, and comfortably accommodates groups with two vehicles. We provide a rock fire pit and heavy-duty, cast-iron grill grate. You provide everything else, including drinking water and personal toilet waste bags if you plan to use our system. The hike-in sites come with extra seating. Every guest must be included on your reservation, and adult guests may be required to provide identification. Thank you!
COMMUNITY COMFORT STATION: There is a comfort station with an outdoor shower stall for hanging your own solar shower bag. The comfort station also includes a changing room which doubles as a private place to use your portable camping toilet. A toilet seat and bucket system is provided but guests will need to use their own waste disposal bags, available at most camping supply stores. The backside of the comfort station has a rain barrel (not potable) collection system for extinguishing fires.
OFF-ROAD CONDITIONS: Due to the primitive nature of our location, all reservations should expect hilly terrain and potential bumpy or some muddy road access, especially after heavy rain. We ask all guests to help us minimize impacts by driving with care. Vehicles with low ground clearance or low-profile tires are no longer permitted to use the off-road drive and must park at the entrance. If you want a campsite with the shortest walk from the entrance parking area, you will want to select campsite 5, 9 or 6. When the road is open during unusually wet periods, we recommend AWD or 4WD as a precaution. We are continuously working on improvements for our off-road drive.

We came to this magical place to found a self-reliant, homesteading eco-community when I retired from corporate life in 2006. It's called the Village on Sewanee Creek, named for the creek 800 feet below the bluff where we are located.
I traveled the world as a senior executive for Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin' Donuts, Papa Johns, Blockbuster, 7-Eleven and other retail franchises, making the world safe for Pizza, Ice Cream, Pancakes Video Rentals and American convenience. And I was ready for something more fufilling. I scouted for a place of exquisite natural beauty and I found it here. I bought way too much land just before the real estate bust and learned how to turn a nice fortune into a very small one.
I faced challenges and had lots of fun. Now I want to share our experience.

Sugarloafers is located on a portion of the old Ocoee Outdoors Zipline. It is nestled along the lower Ocoee river with great views of Sugarloaf and Big Frog Mountains. This is an excellent gateway to Parksville Lake and the Cherokee National Forest and all the activities it affords including whitewater rafting on the Hiwasee and Ocoee Rivers, mountain biking, kayaking, lazy river tubing/floating, fishing, and so much more!
Our property is one of nine - 5 acre tracts along the river.
Although the campsite is back from the highway, road noise can be an issue especially on the weekends. Highway 64 is one of three major roads in the county. Unfortunatley, tents don't block the sounds of Harleys racing down the road at 2 a.m. Consider bringing earplugs or muffs if you are a light sleeper!
Across the street is Ocoee Brewery which I highly recommend. Tell Flavio I sent you! Also Ocoee Scoops Ice Cream is sure to please!
Within a mile from the end of the driveway there is:
-Food - Subway Sandwich Shop and the Gondoler restaraunt.
-Whitewater Outfitters - Ocoee Outdoors, NOC Ocoee Outpost, ACE Ocoee Adventures
Myrtles Cafe is now two miles east next to the Firefly Market. Please consider visiting these local business, they provide excellent service.
Other - Rock Creek Oufitters Ocoee Store, Ocoee Express Gas Station and Convenience Store, Sugarloaf River Park and Parksville Dam and the entrance to the Cherokee National Forest!
Dollar General and Foodcity - 4.2 miles back west towards Cleveland.
Middle Ocoee Private boater takeout is only a 10 minute drive east on Hwy 64.
Consider a hike to beautiful Benton Falls - drive to the top of Chilhowee Mountain and it's a 3 mile round trip hike.

The best part about this site are the views! Relax on the side of the Cumberland Plateau while overlooking Burroughs Cove and the Elk River. You can see the camp sites from the main road, so there will be some road noise.
Sites 1/2 are hard/large graveled, tent camping will be very challenging, heavy duty tent stakes are highly recommended with mats/padding.
There is an electrical box at each end of the hard graveled parking areas (Sites 1 and 2) with 20- and 30-amp plugs, plus 110v. If the power is not working, please check the panel and turn on/reset the breakers, many of our guests turn them off when departing. If you are at Site #2 and the steps above do not work, please check/do the same at the Site #1 panel (it is the master power source).
Water is NOT available on site. NOTE: Depending on the time of year (warmer months only) a water container with a limited amount of NON-POTABLE water is on site for your use. Please plan on filling your water reservoir(s) PRIOR to arriving. There is an outhouse for all guests, picnic tables and fire rings for Sites 1 and 2. The camping area is fairly close to SR-50 so please expect to hear some road noise, more so in the winter months.
The entrance/driveway is on a small incline, if you are traveling in a light vehicle and a heavy camper, it's best to maintain a slow and steady speed to the camp site (for almost everyone, this is not an issue). If you are towing a camper, we recommend the total length of the vehicle and the trailer not exceeding 30ft, There is not a significant place to "turn around" at the sites and novice drivers (not used to backing out of tight spots with longer rigs) may find this very challenging.
There is a double gate that is usually closed, and latched so it stays closed, it is not "locked". The site is self-serve (not manned), Site #1 is to the left, Site #2 is to the right, and Site #3 is down the path past the outhouse at the bottom of the path. It is recommended that campers set up early for Site 3 (still daylight) to get an idea of the layout. Parking for Site #3 is by the shed at the main entrance and power is not available at the site.

Had a wonderful time camping here with my RV. This is a very quiet, remote location with plenty of sky if you have a dish for internet. There are scenic views and I saw a few fun critters while I was there. Angel, the host, was very friendly and helpful. This is not too far away from Blue Hole, a gorgeous waterfall swimming hole.

The view was very special and not something you can get everywhere! It was also nice because we had the place to ourselves so it felt very private! We weren’t bothered by the cars or noise. Only thing we didn’t like was the pit toilet, it was just gross. We’ve done camping with pit toilets before and been fine but this one was bad, we used our own setup which was much more pleasant for us!

Peaceful and awesome views!!! I was at one of the full hook up sites and had no issues. Restrooms and showers were clean. Laundry room was free to use too. I will definitely be going back again!

VIEW.VIEW.VIEW! I'm quite picky when it comes to camping. I always go on a scavenger hunt for places with a view. I was sold with the pics before I booked. When i arrived and pulled up the driveway, the skies literally opened up! STUNNING. A friend and I car camped and we were the only ones there so the was an abundance of s
pace( we reserved site #1 BTW) I will add, if your going camping with a large group, rent spots 1&2 and you will "have your cake and eat it too!" The entire area was clean and well maintained. The gate at the end of the driveway added a little more peace of mind when we shut it down for the night!

I enjoyed staying here. The view is really nice from RV Site 1. RV sites 1 and 2 are close together so be aware that you won't have a private spot if both sites are reserved. The instructions provided by the host are very clear, so pay attention to those. I had different neighbors both nights I was there but it was fine. Overall I enjoyed it and do recommend!

There is some road noise which did not bother me however light sleepers may want some ear plugs for a good nights rest.

We loved camping at raccoon Mountain caverns! The check-in was easy and Bonnie was so nice to help. We got the trailer parked and set up very easily. We had a great stay! We also loved that we could just walk to the raccoon caverns tour, which was also really awesome. We loved our tour guide Maria!

We got moved to #12, which was fine.
This is a full on river rat, class III and IV whitewater rafting, kayaking, etc place. We did not do either of those nor did we use the bath house facilities. They have a bar/restaurant/snack bar built around old school buses and live bands on Friday and Saturday night. We didn’t go listen to the bands, and we could only barely hear them from our spot (which was exactly what we asked for). We did get adult beverages our first night and fried pickles the second afternoon. It’s a campground so you're definitely pretty close to your neighbors, but not packed in like sardines like some campgrounds. It had a neat vibe with the bar, the music, and the rafters/kayakers hanging out. Our spot was fairly shaded. There were areas with zero shade and areas where you could barely see the sky. There were definitely some longtermers around. Tent camping, car camping, truck camping all the way up to high end rigs.
All in all, a nice campground!

Nice fenced in area for dogs, sheltered area with table and chairs, benches and 2 fire pits. An open pasture is also available. You can get some delicious well water, plus there is a full bathroom with nice hot water

Absolutely spectacular view! We spent two days here, and although there wasn’t really much room to hike, it was such a lovely overlook and a great place to decompress

West Tennessee

Middle Tennessee
Marked by cliffs, waterfalls, wild rivers, dark skies, and lush forests, Middle Tennessee is a geologic drama queen. Packed with state parks along the steep edges of the Cumberland Plateau, it’s also a top destination for camping and active travelers. Visit Nashville, home to honky-tonks, hot chicken, and Vanderbilt, then hit Fall Creek Falls, a deep-green state park loaded with waterfalls. Stay in cabins constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in Cumberland Mountain State Park or CCC Pickett Memorial State Park—where you can go stargazing. East Tennessee
