Low Meadow Farms (formerly Brown Bike Farms) is a serene four-acre meadow bordered by Burnett Creek. The campground is an easy distance to Downtown Knoxville and an even easier access to all that South Knox's Urban Wilderness has to offer. It uniquely offers a hint of backcountry camping without the 25-mile hike in. It is a great way to test the waters for primitive camping or an easy stop close to the city for a seasoned traveler. It is best suited for car camping, RVs, tent, and hammock camping. There are fire pits and picnic tables at each site with enough room for tents and RVs. Most sites have trees suitable for hammock camping all along the creek. There is potable water, firewood for sale, solar showers, and a bike wash stand all next to the covered communal area. Each standard site can accommodate 2 people to keep space between groups and lessen the impact on the land. Sites 10 and 13 can each accommodate 6 guests. If you have more in your group, we recommend reserving an adjoining campsite. Sites 1, 2 and 3 are off the main path to the left of the property, and still by the creek. Sites 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are all along the creek and gravel drive Site 10 is very private with creek access on three sides. Site 11 is private with creek access all along the front. Site 12 is up high on a hill, and Site 13 is open in the middle of the meadow.

Group site 10 is our best site with a nice, shaded area surrounded on three sides with Burnett Creek. It is private to the rest of the property. There is a metal fire pit and a picnic table at this site. Many trees are suitable for hammock camping in this area, and it can accommodate several ground tents. This group site can accommodate 6 people. If you would like to add more to your group, we recommend also reserving another campsite - site numbers 8, 9, 11 , and 12 are close - with 11 being the preferred closest addition. Potable water and a shared portable bathroom are on site.

Campsite 11 is a nice grassy, shaded area that is bordered by Burnett Creek and private to the rest of the property. A metal fire pit and picnic table are at the site. Several trees are suitable for hammock camping in this area, and it can accommodate ground tents. To access, drive through the gate, take a hard right then continue over the culvert and continue past sites 8 and 9 on the left. Go over a little hill and then straight to follow the sign for site 11. Potable water and a shared portable bathroom are on site. This site can accommodate 2 people. If you would like to add more to your group, we recommend also reserving another campsite - site numbers 8, 9, 10 (group site), and 12 are close - with 10 being the preferred addition.

Campsite 12 is a nice grassy area that is located on a small hill in the meadow and more private to the rest of the property. It does get a little closer to the main road, but evergreen shrubs are being planted to help grow more privacy. This site has a metal fire pit and a picnic table. This site can accommodate ground tents and is not suitable for hammock camping. Potable water and a shared portable bathroom are on site. This site can accommodate 2 people. We had a great stay at Low Meadow Farms Hipcamp on Site 10. The creek wrapped around two sides of the campsite, and hearing the cool water flowing over the rocks made it incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Since Site 10 is a group site, there was more than enough room for our small hiker camper, a tent, and still plenty of extra space for additional campers if needed. The campground was super quiet, and all the other campers we met were very friendly. We also appreciated the little touches like the solar shower, pavilion with picnic tables and a grill, and the beautiful prairie area to walk through and enjoy nature. There’s a water spigot available, but no electrical hookups — which was perfect for the kind of simple, unplugged camping experience we enjoy.

Kat's slice of property is beautifully maintained with low hedgerows between grass areas for polinators and wildlife. I was pretty much the only one there so it was very quite and peaceful with the exception of a few cars on the nearby road. There is a great deal of poison ivy around the edges of some sites, so if you're highly allergic be prepared. Very easy access and close enough to town. Worked great for me. Thanks Kat!

This was a great get away. It was quiet and was great to have a small creek to sit next to. There is a porta potty on the property which was very clean so that was really nice. It is definitely more suited for tent camping or small trailers. We have a 26' pull behind and we almost couldn't get it turned around to park it. Kat was very responsive to messages I sent.

This is an absolute gem of a campground. Site 10 is so perfect and surrounded on 3 sides by a gorgeous little creek. My sister and I tent camped with our 3 dogs and there was plenty of space to spread out the dog ties without them getting tangled up in things. It felt very private even with other campers close by on other sites. The bathroom was clean and the site was easy to access. The only thing was there is no dumpster on site so you must pack your trash out with you, but it was no big deal considering all the other perks. There is a small wood shelter where you can pay a few bucks for plenty of wood. There is even a few chairs and, a small charcoal grill, and a cooking grate available to borrow if you need them which was such a sweet touch! We were able to use the grate as we forgot ours. All in all, it was an amazing place to camp and we will definitely be back.

I loved tent camping so close to town in a secluded spot next to beautiful trees and a stream. The sound of the water made it easy to sleep after a day of adventure. The fire wood options made it easy to use the fire pit, and the picnic table was a level place to make breakfast.

I checked in around 5pm on April 30th, 2026. I was shortly greeted by one the owners Aaron who was cleaning up the property before the rest of the campers showed up. His vibe was relaxed and fun. They have a bath bag. City water. Portable bathroom with toilet paper a pavilion with firewood for good pricing and maps/pamphlets of surrounding activities to explore. As a local to Knoxville, this was a nice place to kick up my feet creek side while my dog exhausted her self. Spend 3 nights there, starbucks and lowes & a pet store just a few miles away. Site #4 was spacious with a great area to walk through the creek. Fire pit was clean and operable with the portable bathroom a short walk away. The site is on the main strip of the gravel way, but it is a campground, so vehicle activity is to be expected. During the day most the campers left and i was left pretty much solo on the entire campground. Was a lot of fun with friendly and respectful other campers on the ground! Will be returning!

Such a beautiful camp site. The creek sounds made such a fun experience during the day and night. The amount of birds there was amazing. Met Andrew and his daughters while getting firewood (they have cut and ready for a cheap price), and they were so welcoming. The site was insanely clean and welcome with a fire ring.

Sweet camping spot beside the creek and tucked away. All sites had a fire ring and picnic table. Water is onsite and a portion and even a camping shower hanging up on a post. Tons of native plants especially blackberry so this would be a great place to camp during picking season! We enjoyed it and would camp again.

Easy to find with their directions. It’s a small and quiet location which was perfect for an overnight rest stop. The creek was quite lovely! We loved how they’re working on growing native plants to attract pollinators. The variety was amazing.

I loved camping here! The views of the river were great! It was quiet, clean, and relaxing. The site I was in was beautiful and very private and yet others were wide open with no privacy between sites at all, which is also nice for those who are camping together and prefer that instead

Site 10 was definitely the largest and most private campground. The sound of the creek at night was very peaceful. Plus, there was a lot of tree cover so it was good for a hot day.

The proximity to the mountain biking trail network was fantastic. We were able to ride from our campsite. The site felt remote and private, the creek as delightful to fall asleep to, and the solar shower was such a great feature and needed after a full day on the bike.

We absolutely loved our camping trip. It was so nice to be within a five minute drive from a store but be completely removed. Campsite 12 was nice upon a hill. If you’re going to have sunny, hot weather note that campsite 12 is really hot and doesn’t have shade. you have to pass through other campsites in order to swim in the creek. Great reason to make friends. Kat was so nice and helpful. Overall, an incredible camping spot!

Our second time at Low Meadows and surely not the last! Close to Downtown Knoxville but still feels remote enough. The stream and bird noises are so magical in the morning. The road isn’t terribly busy, and when the sun went down you’d think you were in the woods. Not crowded (weekday), and our site had people on either side, but still felt like we had privacy. Wood available is awesome. Great clean table and pit had kindling in it already! Bathroom was incredibly clean. We met a friendly ghost that plays guitar. Would definitely come back
