Welcome to R3! River Rock Refuge is the perfect place to rest, relax, and rejuvenate from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Conveniently located in the heart of a nature lover’s dream in Spencer, Tennessee, the property is surrounded by stunning state parks. You’ll be just: 20 minutes from Fall Creek Falls State Park 24 minutes from Savage Gulf State Park 33 minutes from Rock Island State Park 45 minutes from Burgess Falls State Park …and several more beautiful destinations within an hour’s drive. River Rock Refuge is tucked away down an old dirt road with easy access to Highway 111. Guests enjoy private entry through a locked gate, giving you a secluded and secure experience. Getting There A 4-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended for driving down to the river. If you don’t have one, no worries—you can park at the top and take a short walk down. Camping Options Once you reach the river, you’ll find three unique camping experiences: Camp Site 1: Ideal for a small camper or camper van, featuring a flat parking area and scenic views of the river and rock formations. Camp Site 2: A canvas tent set right on the riverbank for a peaceful, close-to-water experience. Camp Site 3: A more secluded canvas tent across a charming walking bridge, complete with your own picnic table and fire pit. Whether you’re looking for adventure or total relaxation, River Rock Refuge offers a quiet escape surrounded by natural beauty. We can’t wait to welcome you soon to R3! Canvas tent · Sleeps 2
Campsite 2 features a canvas tent set right along the river, offering a peaceful, close-to-water experience. A 4-wheel-drive vehicle is highly recommended. If you do not have a 4-wheel-drive vehicle, please park at the top just inside the gate to the left and walk down to the site. This campsite also provides relatively easy access from the parking area. All R3 guests are welcome to enjoy the 2 acres stretching from the rock ledge down to the river. Please plan to bring your own drinking water, firewood, sleeping pads, toiletries, and any other essentials you may need. Guests are also asked to pack out any trash they bring in to help preserve the natural beauty of the property. The structures are provided to make your camping experience simple and comfortable. Campsite 3 is a more secluded retreat, reached by a leisurely walk along the riverbank. Tucked away for added privacy, this site includes a canvas tent, a picnic table, and a fire pit—perfect for relaxing and unwinding in nature. A 4-wheel-drive vehicle is highly recommended. If you do not have a 4-wheel-drive vehicle, please park at the top just inside the gate to the left and enjoy the short walk in. All R3 guests are welcome to enjoy the 2 acres stretching from the rock ledge down to the river. Please plan to bring your own drinking water, firewood, sleeping pads, toiletries, and any other essentials you may need. Guests are also asked to pack out any trash they bring in to help preserve the natural beauty of the property. The structures are provided to make your camping experience simple and comfortable.
