It is so incredibly beautiful and peaceful. We went fishing, canoeing, paddle boating, and hiking. The kids loved the rope swing that went into the lake. We will definitely be back. Also, Chuck and Van are the sweetest!

We loved staying on Chuck and Van’s land. It was peaceful which allowed us to relax and unwind from the daily grind. The facilities were well maintained and close to our site. We would like to come back to partake in the various activities they have available on the property.

The Point 1

Yes please let visitors know the road at tar springs are narrow, so they can slow down. Point 2 is just what I wanted to truck tent camping.. Shady and easy access to the water for paddle boarding. Bathroom are clean and the entire place is clean

Loved the place. So peaceful, quiet and scenic. Since it was quite muddy because it had been rainy, we stayed at another camp site which had an incredibly beautiful view on the lake, and a small hill behind that made it feel very private. Hosts were kind, attentive and welcoming, and the domain is well kept and safe. We enjoyed the sporadic company of their dog, and also appreciated very much the clean restrooms and showers. (Yes, also had hot water ) Wifi is also available around the premices, which proves practical if we needed it occasionnally. Jeffrey’s cliff is a local hike you can do, it about 20 mins away. It was a recommended by the host. Some of the highlights of our stay were seeing a giant owl and also many hummingbirds around the main house. Highly recomend for peaceful campers that are fond of nature and scenic surroundings.

Great place to learn and explore

Absolutely stunning and peaceful place. Chuck and Van were very welcoming and helpful. Chuck even came by to make sure we were able to start our fire. It had been a rainy weekend. We fished, had a bon fire, explored, and learned about this historic and beautiful place. We hope to return again soon.

Chuck and Val were such kind hosts. Tar springs was truly beautiful and the tent camp sights were perfect couldn’t even tell others were around us camping. We were camping 10 ft from the water and we caught some good fish ! Caught a 13 lb channel cat. The bathrooms were beautifully done and such a great amenity would recommend this place to anybody!!

Cliffhanger (Sheltered)

We had such a great time staying at the cliffhanger spot! We were nestled in between a cliff and a waterfall! Although it was raining the entire first day we were there, our campsite stayed completely dry and cool. We were in walking distance from the beautiful and clean men and women’s restrooms. Being able to take a hot shower was so nice! It was a little difficult to find the main house but Chuck and Van were able to give us specific directions! I do recommend letting Chuck and Van know if your car is four wheel drive. Overall I give the campsite a 9.5/10 only because our car was two wheel drive and the ground was very wet lol

Tar Springs was a totally magical get away fro the city and we cannot wait to return! Van and Chuck were such kind and accommodating hosts- sharing their hatchet, and recommendations for what to do in the area. Even with some rain we were completely dry from a storm, and the facilities were so clean! Such a luxury on a camp out.

Wow!! What an absolutely beautiful spot! Our site was tucked away and private, right under a cliff. Sweet dog on the property and Van was super kind and helpful. WiFi available at the site if needed. I’d recommend this for anyone wanting some quiet time away. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Getting away from the hustle and bustle of life and into the most beautiful, sereneful, quiet place to unwind and unstress. Relaxing at your campfire, fishing, watching barn swallows swoop down, blue birds, cardinals. No stress here and definitely come again!! Thank you to our host Chuck and Van for their warm welcome.

I cat say enough about how awesome this place was and what an incredible value for the price! Chuck and Van were gracious and kind hosts and we enjoyed getting to know them while we were there too! The photos don’t do this place justice. The kitchen had everything we needed, the bathroooms were immaculate. Our kids loved fishing, playing with the dogs and exploring. Also Jeffrey’s cliff hike is a MUST!

Our family had a FANTASTIC time at Tar Springs 2 with Chuck and Van. What a beautiful place! Everything was so clean and the sites were well spread out. The lake was perfect for fishing and the paddle boats were available for use. With water and firewood readily available it made things very convenient. The guest restrooms and showers were IMMACULATE! We felt so welcomed by them and their lovely pets! We were fortunate enough to be there during their Fall Festival and enjoyed the great bluegrass music in their outdoor stage, the food truck, and the fireworks. Really, nothing is more peaceful than watching the cows roam across the land while you sip your coffee by the open fire. Even with many sites filled, there was still a sense of quiet and being secluded. We really enjoyed this trip and are planning to (at least!) go back in the fall to enjoy the Sacagawea festival in September! Book this. What a beautiful place to rest your busy soul. Thank you, Chuck and Van. We can't wait to see how big the kitties get!

The property is soooo cool. The rock formations were amazing. The history of the land is worth researching. Van was the friendliest of hosts and their puppy hosts was also very friendly. ❤️ 10/10 recommend. Thank you so much!!

With the fall festival going on the day of our stay it was first come first serve for camp sites. We weren’t able to stay next to the cliff but it all worked out. The spot we ended up staying at was perfect! Close to everything yet had a secluded feeling.

Our stay here was wonderful! The scenery is breathtaking and so peaceful. Our host was so kind and showed us such a good time! This particular weekend had a food truck and a music band! The room was super nice and we were so pleased with all of the accommodations!!! We will definitely be coming back and hopefully get to stay longer!!!

Camping with my best friend.

Amazing place. Omg just beautiful. We stayed up the hill under the cliff so awesome. Very very cool place. Gemma and I (that’s my German Shepherd) went hiking around and we loved it. Easy hike either direction but totally amazing-must do. Chuck is very cool, they both super good people and I truly thought the world of them in a matter of minutes. Very clean well taken of property. Facilities were all there and very clean. Probably won’t camp anywhere else unless leaving the state. I have to go back to experience the beautiful lake. Yes my brother and my older son showed up the next day and we a great time, setting around the fire telling stories. Best camping spot around.
