When you want to get away to nature, what do you envision? We're a family that loves to camp; and while we love a stop at a KOA or community campground, we sometimes crave quiet time in nature without the noise and distraction of other campers. That's what makes The LAAAAND so special. The property is comprised of 50 pristine acres, with a mix of fields and woods, that bump up against another 250 acres owned by our family friends. The southern perimeter of the property is all cliff line, so you feel truly remote. The possibilities of sound pollution are limited to a far-off dog barking, horses being ridden down a nearby trail, or the possible hum of a distant lumber yard. Other than that, you'll mostly hear the wind rustling trees, deer and critters making their way through the woods, and possibly a waterfall at certain times of the year. Oh, and you will absolutely hear whipoorwhills, most likely at a time you'd rather not (we've decided they're charming). Over the nearly 2 decades we've owned this property we have spent countless weekends enjoying the simplest of pleasures; watching butterflies dance in the tree canopy, having dance parties at sunset on the deck, forging new trails and hiking into the unkown, sitting in the truck bed late at night gazing at a star-covered sky counting shooting stars. If you are looking for a space and place to reset and reconnect, The LAAAAND is waiting for you. Our driveway into the initial field is very steep, and there are a few wet spots on the road. We recommend you survey the road 25-50 feet ahead before entering the property to get a sense of the condition of the road. We have never gotten stuck, but there have been times we needed to drive a little faster to get through a wet or muddy area, or to get up the hill and out at the end of a trip. We also strongly urge use of a 4-wheel driver vehicle.

I spent my birthday here on a solo camping trip, and it was everything I was hoping for! Booking was easy, the hosts were quick to communicate, and they sent a helpful video showing how to find the gate and road back to the campsite. The path was easy to follow and I had no trouble in my 2WD SUV. I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. It was secluded and peaceful without feeling unsettling. The campsite had a beautiful view from the deck platform, with firewood stocked and ready, a fire ring, and chairs. The starts of the trails were marked with general directions, but beyond the trailheads they were mostly unmarked, so I had fun wandering through the woods and venturing off trail a bit. The overlook was my favorite spot. It was only a few minutes from camp, and I hung my hammock there and spent hours enjoying the view and wildlife. There’s also a beautiful wildflower meadow filled with flowers and butterflies and plenty of land to wander and explore. There was something magical about sitting by the fire listening to the whip-poor-wills at night and waking up to a gathering of crows at camp in the morning. The whole property has a really special feeling to it, with plenty to explore and just as many places to be still and take it all in. It was the perfect place to slow down for a couple of days and spend my birthday. I’d absolutely love to come back. Thank you for sharing such a special piece of land!

We tent camped two nights with our two kids (9 and 6). Lots of dry firewood provided under a tarp canopy. Deck was awesome and picnic table super useful. Checked out part of the steep trail down to the waterfall but decided it would be better to explore another time when we return sans kids. Saw a group of crows trying to overtake a hawk and heard a big tree fall down in the distant gorge, both very cool. Would love to come back when the leaves are off the trees for the sweeping views of the Daniel Boone National Forest. About a half hour to Slade through the Nada Tunnel. If you are thinking about camping with younger kids, keep in mind the deck drops about 6 feet off the back. We hung lanterns around the site to keep it well lit after dark. Highly recommend and hope to be back!

What an incredible spot! Spot is secluded and all to yourself. Some nice trails onsite and marked! my dogs were able to roam the land and enjoy themselves nothing makes me happier. Our rig 2wd was able to go through the grounds, nice graveled lane. Ground was level for us in our 25ft class c. Beautiful spot, quiet, private private private. The directions were clear. Would definitely recommend this place and will be returning!

This is a great place if you want privacy. The site in the woods is set up well. We chose to set up on the rode on the hill for the views. It is close to all the great places in the Red River Gorge.

It was pretty hot, but we knew that was going to be the case. We had fun and enjoyed being in the outdoors. It was quiet and we had an awesome view of the sky, with Venus very visible.

Awesome site, great hosts, amazing sunsets. This was exactly what we were looking for to have a fun, restful weekend with old friend in the woods. The amenities were very appreciated, trails were accessible, and the hosts were super responsive to any needs or requests. Definitely hope we can make more memories here in the future!

Absolutely incredible! It rained nearly the whole time we were there and we still had a great time. The waterfalls and overlook on the property are also such a great perk! There was plenty of firewood and we saw lots of wildlife. We were also fairly close to all of the hikes that we did in Red River Gorge! Carli was super responsive and we overall had an amazing experience! We will absolutely be coming back!

Beautiful land! And easy instructions to get in and out. Sunsets were beautiful. When we first pulled in, there were three deer and two turkeys. A short path to a Lookout Point. And a second short path to a waterfall. Only 20 min away from the scenic drive of Red River Gorge.

Carli made a great campsite! We felt so secluded. Before we made it to camp we saw rabbits, squirrels, turkey and deer - and it’s not that far of a drive. There were plenty of tent spots and the deck overlooking the land was just as dreamy as it is in pictures.

This was my second time visiting and there's not much to say other than it's a fantastic spot to camp. 10/10, no complaints. Very close to the red river gorge area with plenty of great hikes nearby, but don't forget to factor in at least one full day into your stay for exploring the LAAAAAAAAND itself. Highly rated by my dogs as well (11/10 barks)

Beautiful property. Lots of space and privacy and was close to everything we wanted to see in the gorge. Would definitely come here again. Only issue was they said in welcome email there was a porta potty but there was none and owners did not respond to text when reaching out to discuss it

Would definitely visit here again. The space feels secluded thanks to where the location sits on the property and it was well-maintained. Sunset and night sky views were amazing from the deck as we were lucky to have clear skies during our stay. It was a great location and the host was very responsive. Next time we are in the area and not backpacking...this will be our base again!

We had an absolutely amazing time at The LAAAAND. The views were stunning in every direction, and the trails were a blast to hike beautiful, and full of variety. We only had two days to explore and easily could’ve spent a full week out there and still not seen everything. The campsite was peaceful, well stocked with firewood, spacious, and perfect for unplugging. We’ll definitely be back again!

I didn't get to camp bc the weekend i reserved was 20 degrees and i didn't want to do it. I still want to leave a good review because they kept good contact and emails of everything i needed to know on how to get there and a even a video of the road leading up to the camp. Im planning on reserving again when its not so cold!

Everything about the location, setup, and scenery are absolutely perfect! The little touches of extras was unexpected and definitely welcomed! The grill rack, extra chairs, table were awesome, and the canopy came in clutch when we arrived while it was raining. We brought a couple bundles of wood just in case, and was surprised to see plenty of precut wood to use as well! The short hikes to the cliff and waterfalls are amazing, and the sights were incredible! Just be extra careful if it rains while you are there. Parts of the hike/climbing can be extremely slippery, especially on the more sloped areas. Absolutely would stay here again and again!

No wonder you have 100% on your reviews. The property is beautiful and the view overlooking the Daniel Boone National Forest is amazing. The camping spot was easy to get to with my Pickup truck and 16’ Sunray Sport Camper. The areas to hike and explore are well marked and there’s plenty of rock features to check out. Also not far from the Red River Gorge area to check out the Rock bridge and the Nada tunnel. Thank you for sharing your amazing property!

Very pretty and secluded. Beautiful fall colors, be aware of falling acorns in the fall. The first time one hits you camper its loud 🤣 had some wild turkeys hanging around that were cool. I wish they had a trash can by the gate for when you leave, that would be helpful. We enjoyed our stay and the quite solitude of nature.

We loved tent camping on this land not too far from Red River Gorge hiking. The deck offered a great place to sit and watch the sunset. There was a great short path to an overlook, too. Directions were helpful and easy to follow. A very quiet nights rest.

Tucked away up in the trees!

This spot is so special and tucked away! Shady and cool, beautiful views, paths to walk around and explore. An amazing platform deck with 4 plastic Adirondack chairs included, and a picnic table, as well. A couple of good trees to hang a hammock from. I enjoyed hearing and looking for all the birds around! We felt very safe and secure. The entrance gate at the front can lock you in. About 30 minutes north of all the Red River Gorge has to offer, with a fun trip through the Nada Tunnel to get there! We stayed 5 nights and still hated to leave!
