Our remote 375 acres part farm and part natural woodland nestled up to Daniel Boone Forest is ideal for hikers and nature lovers. There are several hiking trails onsite and plenty of woods to explore. ATVs or side by sides are welcome to be used on the main gravel roads and some designated areas of our property. There is plenty of wildlife but NO hunting is allowed. Some of our designated tent sites do have firepits and/or picnic tables. Our trek in sites do not have those options. Pets are welcome for $10 per pet/per booking and they do need to be leashed/under control at all times. This is an extra so please be sure to add that if you plan to bring your pet. Please pick up after them. We are a short driving distance from West Liberty, Cave Run Lake, Grayson Lake, Carter Caves, Morehead, Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge. We are approximately 20 minutes from the nearest store so you'll want to come prepared. We are located in West Liberty (Morgan County). There are 2 centrally located bathhouses with toilet, shower and sink and a hose for potable water. We have firewood for sale for $20 per stay and is an extra option when booking(use what you need during your stay and it is centrally located near bath houses) you can bring your own and you are welcome to gather from the surrounding area but please do not cut down any living trees/limbs. There is a centrally located community building with a Wifi hotspot, streaming TV, Keurig, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster/air fryer, swing set, foosball table and darts.

Nestled down in the woods a short walk from our High Falls trail is Hemlock Holler. Site is beautiful and shaded along a small creek. All wheel or 4 wheel drive is recommended or you can park at the top of the hill and walk down into it.

Pitch your tent on top of Oak Ridge and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Plenty of hiking trails onsite or go off trail for some amazing adventures. There are 2 waterfalls within a short hike and plenty of small creeks and a river to explore for the experienced hikers. There is a rustic bathhouse centrally located on the property that has a shower/toilet/sink. There is also a spigot to get potable water. Well behaved dogs are welcome for a small fee and must be leashed at all times. We are within short driving distance to Laurel Gorge, Carter Caves, Cave Run Lake, Grayson Lake and the Red River Gorge area.

I come to this place multiple times a year and I’m never disappointed. Still have not seen all the possible sites. This time we stayed at sunset and it was beautiful. The owner even came out to help me find it. I have traveled to here alone as a woman and felt very safe. The couple that own the property are so kind and accommodating. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to just get away to an to a beautiful oasis and it’s an hour from the Red River Gorge….

May - Hillside Cabin (Stay #2)
Hilltop Cabin
This is our second time booking at Possum Ridge Ranch! We booked the Hillside Cabin last minute on a trip to the red, which I might add was great after an all-day brutal hike! Couple things I'll point out. The bed was comfortable and there were a grill, mini fridge, and microwave. As a back packer and usual tent camper this made meals, quick and easy. Theres a small portable A/C and a small heater to use which we did and tv tray style tables to eat at inside if needed. Very accommodating!! The bath house is a blessing and very clean. We have come by ourselves and the first time with our four children, cannot say enough great things about this hipcamp. The trails are pretty, the views are great, its peaceful, relaxing, and a reminder of simpler times. You'll love the stay I promise. We already have a future date booked for July 4th for the 250th USA camping trip with our children.

We had a great time! The place is well taken care of. There are so many hiking trails to explore. The best part was how secluded it is and peaceful. We got to enjoy nature. The whippoorwills were especially delightful.

My friends and I stayed here for 2 nights. It was so quiet and peaceful. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely suggest a 4x4 vehicle since there are some very steep hills to climb.

Excellent hospitality as Mark came over and greeted me after getting in around 18:00. Great views from the hilltop at the Oakridge site. Liz had great communication although spotty cell service at site but that’s why you camp right! Definitely be back in the future.

Nuttin Fancy
This place is amazing! Cabin was cozy and the bath house was great (heated, hot water and clean!). Trails are well marked and the views were spectacular. Liz and Mark have truly thought of EVERYTHING! Cant wait to come back

Liz is simply fantastic! The bath houses are very clean and well stocked. Staying here is like staying at a 5 star hotel, only it’s outside where we campers want to be. It’s an absolute must.

Possum Ridge Ranch is amazing. We camped at Oak Ridge and loved the site. We also explored a bit and walked down to Little Falls which was beautiful. Liz was very nice. The bath houses are clean and a nice surprise while camping. Would definitely recommend and camp here again.

Liz is an amazing host. She came out to visit us and answered all of our questions. The space was a perfect spot for our hammocks. It is quiet and peaceful. There is firewood on site to purchase. The area is level and easy to traverse. We would love to go back and visit Liz. This is a must for anyone looking for a quiet getaway

My family and I loved this area for camping. It’s a beautiful property with some hiking trails if you love nature. I liked how spread out the campsites were, especially with having kids. Liz was a good host. She was very friendly and replied quickly to any messages. I liked the community area she had and the bath houses were nice. I will definitely be planning another trip out that way again.

We had an incredible time staying on this property on the Peachtree lot. Liz is an amazing host! She couldn't have been more accommodating and kind. She has the cleanest and homeiest feeling bath houses we've ever used at a campsite. There is even a little community hangout area with vending machines, a microwave, coffee, ice bags, a foosball table, and some other little conveniences. As for getting to the ranch, it was straightforward. Google brought us right to her road and following her directions took us right to our lot with no issues. They have nice signs guiding you all along the way and everything's easy to make out. The drive itself is absolutely gorgeous out to her place and the ranch itself is peaceful and full of unexpected surprises. Liz told us about lots of places and things we could explore on the ranch and she also mentioned Hell's hole. If you are up to the challenge, take the hike down hell's hole and see if you can make it down to the river. It's unbelievable what some people have right in their backyard, and the fact that Liz shares it with us is such an awesome gift. I brought my 8-month-old puppy along and he had the time of his life chasing and sniffing everything he could out on her property. We will definitely be back sometime to check out more of the Red River gorge area and more of the possum ridge ranch itself. Plus it's just beautiful driving through that area. Thanks Liz!!

Possum Ridge Ranch was even better than advertised! Liz was a great host. There was a central bath house and community center was awesome! Have stayed at plenty of hip camps but this one by far was the best. Lots of trails to see, beautiful views, clean as can get, and worth every minute! We will be back.

I stayed at Hemlock holler. This is my second Time staying at this place I always go here when I’m climbing at the red River Gorge. It’s about a hour drive but well worth it. They keep the facilities incredibly clean. Amazing showers and super convenient fridge and water and microwave available. Love this place and we’ll be coming back for many years to come. I’ve only seen one of the waterfalls so far, but would love to come back and see the other two.

I love the bowman cabin it was extremely cozy and felt like home. The property is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Definitely recommend going to the water falls total worth the hike. I would love to come back again soon!

Loved tent camping at Oak Ridge! Entire property was beautiful and well maintained, with great hosts. Hosts came to the plot to greet us and gave very helpful information about trails and how to get around! Bathrooms were super clean and stocked and trails were great! Definitely would come back.

As a solo female camper I felt 100% safe here. The hosts are way cool! Gorgeous property, very spacious, accommodates a variety of tastes from quiet solo to fun groups. The "fun barn" has games, a kitchen, music and even a claw machine (don't try for the stuffed turtle). Great trails and the friendliest ducks ever. I'm going back! Oh yeah - as mentioned in the listing it's best to get there before sundown, the roads are ridge/hollow twisty without lights. Signage at the ranch is great. Truly a special place.

Absolutely perfect! Found this Hipcamp after looking through a dark sky map trying to find a good spot to watch a meteor shower that wasn’t far from Lexington. The hilltop was perfect and we couldn’t have asked for more! Liz came and introduced herself and showed us how to hike down to a waterfall on their property and it was well worth it. The showers are more than you can ask for while tent camping and the rest of the property was extremely well taken care of! Highly recommended!

The best all around experience you could ask for! We had essentially a whole hilltop to ourselves, with beautiful views of both the sunset and sunrise. The grass was cut, area clean, and the closest neighbors were about a 1/4 mile away - which allowed our dog to have a great and unbothered time. The water spicket right in the campsite was a bonus! Not far up the road were full bathrooms with showers, and a very nice common area with games and amenities for anyone. The hosts were communicative and friendly, it’s very clear they take care of this place. A great time and we hope to return!
