We had such a relaxing stay at Handyland. The cabin was so cozy and the stars were absolutely stunning at night. We walked the trails and they are beautiful. Don’t miss them. Beautiful quiet spot on the driveway. This was our first hip camp stay, which understandably caused Kristal some concern about us booking last minute, but we were able to convince her we would be respectful.

We had a great weekend! Jennifer was very helpful and the property is awesome. We were in town for an event at Rupp Arena which was a quick 15 minute drive away. We recommend staying here when you’re in Lexington!

We loved our experience here! Josh was very communicative and helpful any time I had questions. The cabin was clean and well maintained. We stayed on a very cold night and enjoyed using the wood burning stove for heat. The kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed.

Nice place with lots of yard for you and your pets. Close to all the distilleries around the area. Access to water and power right at the site but with the power I believe she has it listed as 30 amp and I was prepared to use an adapter plug to go to 30 amp because my camper is 50 amp but I looked at the plug at the site and was pleased to see that it is a 50 amp plug so just be prepared if your camper runs on 30 amp and has a 30 amp cord you will need an adapter to go from your 30 amp cord to the 5 amp plug. Over all 5 outta 5 stars!

2 nights at Keep It Simple Stupid

This spot was fantastic! We were able to run our generator all night to keep the heat going without bothering anyone because the spot was so secluded. The pups were able to bark and run, it was so perfect, we stayed a couple extra days! The host was super! We will definitely be back next time we pass through KY!

Kristal provided us with a quiet & pleasant place to park our RV for a couple of nights. It is a beautiful country setting. Her little homestead is centrally located offering a great opportunity to leisurely explore the surrounding area. She is a most thoughtful and considerate host and we hope to return in the future!

7 nights at A Notch Above-RV Riverside Campsite

November 2024 camping.....Randy was very responsive and kind. Great for a weekend get away, grandkids loved the barges, shells, and campfire. Area is not like a campground, (no trails or hiking) but fun. Bet it's great in summer to put in a kayak! Very nice having a concrete pad. Make sure your items are very secure before pulling a camper up or down the steep drive, I had a jar shift and break but it was on me for not securing. Looks of the drive can be intimidating, but it was no problem getting in or out. Very close to main road but road was not excessively busy.

I've stayed at other hip camps and simply decided that I would love to share my little slice of heaven with others passing through my area. Notes: there is a wee bit of road noise, I live on a dead end road, there are 10 acres between my 5 acres and the Blue Grass Parkway. I find it peaceful here and can easily ignore it but I'm mentioning it so your not surprised by it ;) The Neighbor dog (Roxy) is very friendly and might visit you while you are here :) You are welcome to hang a hammock in a small section of woods, by a small pond, or even on my covered porch. You are welcome to pitch a tent anywhere you like. You are welcome to park an RV or vehicle in the drive. The drive is about 250ft long, you would need to back in in order to hook up to the 30 or 50 amp plug. RV's can use the 30 or 50 amp plug (30 amp will need an adapter. I have one you can use if you don't own one of your own) and hose for water. I have an outdoor shower and a camping toilet. I am ... - one hour from Lexington, Louisville, Elizabethtown, and Frankfort.- 1 mile from a mini mart with Gas, Ice, Pizza, Chicken Wings, Sandwiches, ect.- 6 miles from Dollar General and A pizza Restaurant - 15 ish miles from Wal-mart and other chain stores and restaurants I'm a great travel guide so feel free to tell me what your in town for or things you like to do. I will happily make you up a list of things to do and see and places to eat. Keenland, Churchill Downs, The Bourbon Tour (Jim Beam, Makers Mark, Heaven Hill, and many others) are within an hour of here. Also within an hour are 2 great bike paths, wonderful hiking and kayaking. As well as Great Shopping and Restaurants. Anything your heart desires.

Because we are conveniently located in the greater Louisville metropolitan area, please know there is a nearby train track that comes by a few times a day, but you get use to it, and we are only 8 miles from the Louisville International airport, but there is no freeway noise which can be very loud. We do not have bath or shower houses, or a pool, but we do have laundry facilities on site. There are showers within 2 miles at the Pilot gas station on I-65. We strive to offer excellent customer service, so please feel free to call if you have any issues! We have an on-site Assistant Manager. Annie is located on lot 12a, and you can reach her after you arrive by calling (502) 276-6090, or look for Annie working in the park. For long term RV guests, we require RVs to be 10 years or newer. THISTLEDOWN GATHERING PLACE: This is a very large meadow, surrounded by trees with the capacity for large groups, many tents and gatherings of lots of people. Very level, easy in and out with vehicles. Fires permitted in season. WHITETAIL SANCTUARY: Every night for decades a herd of whitetail deer graze in this pastoral setting. Drive in and out, fires in season. Suitable for a family sized tent. THE PENNINSULA: This camping spot is WALK IN ONLY. You can drive to the trailhead on grass and walk the path to the campsite (about 200 yards). One of two remote sites. It sits in the woods, on the bank of a wet weather creek which flows around two sides of the campsite. Fires permitted in season. TOTEM TREES: This site is WALK IN ONLY. A short hike down the hill from the grass parking area and you have a small spot for a tent, in the woods, surrounded by trees and a lot of standing dead ash which appear as if you are in the presence of totem poles.
