Surrounded by the verdant George Washington National Forest, the Upper Falls, displays a constant waterfall of around 40-feet in height, & decorates the final mile stretch of the Sweet Springs, both on our property. Additional beautiful cascades pepper our tract of Beaverdam Falls as well. This private tract of unparalleled Virginia countryside will simply astonish your expectations. As the source of the Falls, Sweet Springs Creek, serves as a long, unique home for trout, calcified travertine rock, chalybeate water, and ancient beaver dams (as well as active ones!). 174 Acres of forested land in the Draper, Virginia area with scattered clearings connected by over 2 miles of cleared roads throughout the property, which are perfect for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding. The property includes a very small creek, several ravines, ridge lines and trails to explore. We frequently encounter deer, rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional turkey, black bear, coyotes and Bigfoot. The thing people seem to enjoy most is the privacy and and quiet that allows you to connect with nature. Each of the 3 sites is hundreds of yards apart. Note: there is no bathroom on the premises, however you can book a toilet tent as an extra. 4 Wheel Drive or All wheel drive are helpful during the winter months if there has been a lot of rain or snow/ice. Things to watch out for are deer ticks and poison ivy. Campers are expected to leave the site neat and take all their trash with them. We are located about 5 minutes from I-81 or 15 minutes from I-77 making it an easy place to stop when passing through on your way to other adventures. If you are coming on I-81, use exit 89-A. Don't let Google maps take you to Frog Level Ct near the town of Pulaski (LOL). Nearby attractions include Appalachian Gem and Gold Mine on Route 100 (5 min), New River Trail State Park (10 min), Claytor Lake State Park (20 min) and the Town of Draper has a couple small town shops to explore including The Draper Mercantile and Trading Company and the newly opened Conery where you can get wonderful ice cream cones and more. Also, check out the Draper Mountain overlook on Rt 11, just 10 minutes from our HipCamp. We love hosting campers and are happy to help make accommodations to help you have an enjoyable stay. We have 3 sites but only allow 2 to be in use at a time on the property. This insures that all guests continue to feel complete privacy from others and allows us to always have an alternate site available if campers want to change. Bring your dogs ! Available "Extras" include portable toilet setup, Woodshop class making a cutting board, Bigfoot sitings as well as various camping gear items and games. Feel the hug of the mountains throughout your stay, while also having access to Blacksburg nearby should you need it.  DIRECTIONS: Upon entry the gravel road is shared with my neighbor and it is about 1.5 miles from the entry gate to the site. You'll enter thru a gate (it may be closed, if closed please close behind you as my neighbor sometimes has cows). Go approx 1 mile the road will split...go up the hill on the right. Continue past the Hay barn another half mile. Park on the left side of the gravel road along the tree line. Another 50ft you'll see a wood foot bridge across the creek. The sites are ahead, PawPaw is first, then Bloodroot Base Camp (bell tent), and lastly Cohosh Cove is the most private. Each site has a sign as well When driving, please be respectful of the right of way. Drive slowly and respect the farm equipment. Also please do not venture onto the neighbor’s property other than entry and exit. About the property 20 minutes from Blacksburg and 35 minutes from Roanoke, our campground gives you great access to the “Triple Crown” of the Appalachian trail, consisting of McAfee Knob, Tinker Cliffs, and Dragon’s Tooth. Conquer these iconic peaks of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains for spectacular views of the surrounding wilderness. Additionally, explore Falls Ridge Nature preserve, Cascades waterfall, and Carvin’s Cove for hiking, kayaking and mountain biking.  Or just stay on the campground and enjoy the hiking and swimming we offer here.  Nearby in Blacksburg take advantage of the local breweries or Virginia Tech football home games. You can also find Christmas tree cutting in Floyd county, 45mins away.  This property deserves to be shared with others. It is peaceful and beautiful. As your Host, I am passionate about conservation and also teaching people about the medicinal uses of our local herbs. I can lead medicinal herb walks upon request for $25 a person. I typically try to meet the campers if I can upon arrival, I am available for questions and can be hands on or off as the needs of campers suggest. I have had campers ask if I wanted to share a beverage and sit around the fire and have done so. I want to make your experience as enjoyable as possible. I love the peacefulness the property offers, and that you’re in the middle of the wilderness but also have quick access to things in town. The river campsites are my favorite part of the property. At the main cabin I have goats and chickens which hipcampers are more than welcome to greet.  About the listing Pitch your tents at the campsite nestled along the side of the mountain on the banks of the North Fork of the Roanoke River. As you fall asleep, listen to the occasional hoot of an owl, howl of a coyote, and gentle ripple of the river and creek that flank the campsite. Located less than a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway, this little hayfield is nestled just a skip away from Mabry Mill (the most photographed spot on the parkway), Villa Appalachia (quant Italian style winery), Chateau Morrisette (larger tourist winery), Nancy's Fudge (a little candy factory and shop), and hiking trails of varying lengths with epic views (Black Ridge Trail and Rock Castle Gorge Trail). Each of these is under 5 miles from our camp spot. Yet, if you are also hoping to hop out of your camper and WALK somewhere, there is a hike that leads you directly up to Chateau Morissette. Some of the property that this walk traverses does go through land that was logged. So, that section has lost a bit of its luster. That said, now you are able to look off in the distance to see the ridge that used to be hidden. The property you will stay on is a hayfield that typically has a couple of cuttings each summer. There just happens to be a full hook up campsite located at the edge of the property that someone should be enjoying. The property owner (my mom, who is in her mid 70s and doesn't internet so well) lives just down the road a smidge. She has graciously offered that we can rent this spot out and contribute the profits to her grandsons' college funds. While you may not see any of us at all, there is a chance you will meet some of the family (mom, myself, my husband or the boys), especially if you have any requests or hiccups. Learn more about this land: Set atop a hillside overlooking a hayfield, this camper/motor home spot includes internet, 50 AMP, water & sewer hookups. The location offers a covered pull thru carport style parking space as well as a porch swing and pergola with a picnic table.

The Firefly is nestled between trees, on a loud, rushing creek, on a five acre property that is mostly cleared and on a hard surface dead end rd, a few miles from Hillsville, Va. The firefly is comfortable for a small family or a romantic get away for couples. The creek is stocked with trout, with easy access along the creek, perfect for wading, floating, and relaxing to the noise. Firefly has a camp style charcoal grill, a firepit with lots of firewood, a wood pellet stove on the covered deck for grilling when its rainy outside, a wood pellet fireplace for heat, outside shower with hot water, a comfy queen size memory foam bed, fresh linens and towels, and an outside bathtub situated by the creek. it has running water and a composting toilet and there is an unattached bathhouse with a conventional toilet and an outside shower as well. The FireFly is pet friendly and please leave $25 on the counter for the pet fee. The Firefly is 6 miles from I-77 and The Blue Ridge Parkway. I keep all paper products, dishes, cookware and pellets for the pellets cooker and for the heater. Plenty of blankets and there is a pellet heater and a propane wall heater there with plenty of propane.

There is a safari tent at the far end of this property as a different listing. This land has three hookups for a small trailer, car, truck, van or tent. Car camping is allowed and appreciated. each hookup has power, water, a camp charcoal grill, picnic table, and that running water right beside each site. There is a small bathhouse with a conventional toilet, and an outside shower with hot water at the gated entrance of the property. Each site is located right by the water for easy fishing access, in this trout stocked water. In the winter months, if it is below freezing temps, there may not be running water. Secret Spot was perfect for our camping trip. This was my second time staying here (first time with the whole family). The property offers great peace and quite along with ample space for kids to explore. Its within easy driving distance to the parks further north. Kroger in town had everything we needed.

We loved our stay on David’s land. We arrived late after dinner in Pulaski. We were regrettably informed that David likes to give a tour of the property to get the lay of the land. We were sad we missed out on that but we will hopefully be back in the future. The site is beautiful, even in the fog and rain. Our dogs loved running around on the hill. It was very peaceful and quiet. We will have to plan to comeback for longer in the future.

Absolutely gorgeous area. Very well maintained fire pit was already stocked with wood and kindling for us our first night. Outhouse was very clean an added bonus for sure. The stars were Amazing we got some awesome shots of the sky. We had our truck camper and used rocks to level out there were big ones available near by. The other vehicle in our party was hauling a 21’ overland bumper pull camper. He fit in just fine in and out. Great spot will definitely book again

Hippie Hollow was amazing! Me and my dog spent a long weekend there and I couldn't have picked a better spot. Sly and the other people at the site were so friendly, they suggested great spots in town, and I can't go without mentioning how nice it was to chill in the evening at the bar and hang with everyone. Sly has truly created a magical little place! Bonus, as a solo female traveler I felt safe and welcome the whole time.

Weekend Trip to Stay by the New River

Stayed here for my second time, just as impressed as I was after my first visit. The land is close to the National Park with proximity to and a beautiful view of the New River. With the heater and fan within the shack any temperature for sleeping can be found. The cots are comfortable and the bathroom is clean. Met the host this trip and she was very nice and accessible. There are chairs and a fire pit along the bank of the river that provide a wonderful sunset experience. Just know once the sun goes behind the mountains on the other side of the gorge it can get chilly, even on a warm day. I will continue to heavily recommend this site and plan to return.

We had such an amazing stay at Hippie Hollow. You can tell Sly has put a ton of heart and hard work into this place. It’s beautiful, peaceful, and really comfortable. The creek running through the property just adds to the whole experience. The shared kitchen was great, and the people we met there were awesome. There’s a really good energy to the space. Sly was super helpful too, giving us recommendations for local restaurants and some incredible overlooks nearby. His dog Danby was a sweetheart. Not quite sure how he felt about our dog, but she definitely loved him. She may have been a little much for him.🤣 The bathhouse is spacious and clean. There’s a smaller one available now, and the larger one still under construction already looks like it’s going to be beautiful. Overall, just a great stay. Easy to find, welcoming, and a place we definitely plan to come back to and spend more time at.
