Nice for quick trips to Snowshoe
This was a great site if you’re looking for close proximity to Snowshoe. Like he says, it’s an easy and quick pull up site in the field. We had a rooftop tent on top of a VW Gulf with 2WD, and had no issues. I could see it being more challenging if it was wet, but I think didn’t have any problems. Firewood was $6 bundle, and the camp hosts onsite directed us to pick it up/pay in a drop box in a blue tent that seems like sort of a “community area”, not really sure. There were some sites right by the river that were empty, and I think in the future we’d try to get those just for a little bit of coverage and to be closer to the sounds of the creek running through. The site doesn’t get much shade, so without a way to make our own, we waited until after sunset to head to the site so we weren’t baking. The only thing within host control that this site could improve on would be a picnic table - the extra surface area would be nice. But all in all for a quick, inexpensive site, this was great!
