Rainbow Ridge itself is largely comprised of the three houses on property as well as the surrounding woodlands. Its area spans fifty acres of elevated terrain surrounded by a forest creek (where crawdads can be found). The camping area is on about five acres of the property and is populated by alders and evergreens, making it a wonderful place to connect with nature. It's a beautiful area sure to soothe the soul. A short but captivating nature trail is open to campers who are interested in a walk up the gentle hill. We do have a worm composting toilet and water available for washing. A new hot shower will be available. A couple of more sites are in the plans.
Nearby is the quaint town of Montesano. Lake Sylvia is there for those looking to discover one of our lovely state parks. Closer by, there is a river with boat launch that runs down and through Montesano for people who want to swim, fish, float, or boat. Montesano's central location in Grays Harbor allows it to serve as a wonderful base of operations for those looking to explore more of the coast, and northwestern peninsula.
The way up to Rainbow Ridge is a short winding driveway of somewhat steep grade, delivery trucks have no problems, so if you have a small camper or less, you should be fine.

We are about 45 minutes from ocean beaches, only a few minutes from the best riding, hiking and boating in the world. We have a cute bar and restaurant within a mile. Also gas and groceries are close as well. Boat launch is about 1/2 a block easy access.
There is talk about sites at the river, we have some in their premature stage. This is NOT offered through our Hip Camp site!!!!! There are reasons for this: When we initially opened, we allowed people to camp there through Hip Camp and I was getting low stars ratings because Entitled people thought for $28 bucks, they got the whole river to themselves and would fight with other campers. IT JUST GOT TO EXHAUSTING. In the coming years I’m going to try to set up some premium sites on the river and work super hard at getting amenities that will match that price. But for now, Enjoy Camp Hope and the river ACCESS too!! We appreciate the wonderful feedback everyone gives it helps us grow with you!!

The trail is historic to the property - you will find remnants of fallen barbed wire fences, an abandoned electrical post from 70 years ago, and a 1960’s sedan, all taken back by the forest.
A wetland boardwalk ushers you to a creekside deck. A birdwatcher's paradise, here you can kayak into Lake Isabella or tube downstream. This is private access -- the expansive wetlands prevent neighbors - you will only share this special space with the occasional kayaker. There is a beaver dam just upstream, and if you visit at twilight you will hear them stir from dens along the bank.
When hunger stirs, stroll north along the trail to a secluded upland picnic table. Dine among the woodland animals.

Once a working farm, Grey Owl Hollow sat fallow for over 20 years.
In 2017, Seth left the corporate world and he and Yvonne dedicated themselves to the stewardship of this charming locale.
The densely planted lumber forest was trimmed and thinned, allowing deer and other wildlife migration while providing shady campsites for nature lovers.
Seth has begun planting a redwood grove in the high meadow and Yvonne is adding hazelnut and walnut trees to the 80-year-old apple orchard.

Black-tailed Columbian deer are regular visitors, while coyotes, owls, and frogs may serenade you in the evening.
We are firm believers in the value of time in the woods as a balm for physical, psychological, and emotional distress. Weekend Trip to Elevation Hive Forest Retreat
The best experience and outcome I could have asked for when taking my 2 month old child on his first glamping trip.
Immediately when we arrived for our 2 night trip, and my wife saw the inside of the dream dome, she said “maybe we will stay for an extra night”.
I felt the same, it was beautiful and very well curated.
After reading the welcome card I found out the dome was created to help promote dreaming; after staying for two nights, I can say, my wife and I did dream vividly both nights~
The provided entertainment items such as tarot cards and board games were a fun nighttime activity
We did bring our own grill but there was provided grill in a pit for cooking that looked like a nice set up. Ample chairs and a table also sat outside the dome. The provided power and water for bathing and filtered for drinking was a nice amenity.
The beach access is just fine, just coordinate with the host and make your way past a guest house to access it, this is a multi use property so don’t expect to be completely alone, but it is much much more secluded and serine than a camp ground
The host was incredibly responsive and warm, quick and efficient to remedy anything I needed help with, though everything was already thoughtfully provided and ready for my use when I forgot an item.
The whole time we stayed we spoke of looking forward to coming back over the years and watching the grounds evolve as our son grows. Very cool place for rest, rejuvenation, and recharging. We will be back!

Amanda is a caring and responsive host, and the dome is cozy. I used the trailer kitchen and outdoor shower as well, both clean and functional.

This place is amazing! Pictures don't quite show how close it is the water. It is very relaxing place with a wonderful porch to sit on and take in the view of the water and forest. The bed is really comfortable too! The host is very responsive and helped us locate things in the kitchen we wanted to use. We were only there for a quick one night getaway from the city but hope to be back soon to enjoy the outdoor shower and more!

Thank you for a lovely and peaceful time. When we arrived and saw the water lilies in the water, I thought we were going to be inundated with bugs. But, much to our surprise there weren't any mosquitoes or flies. We were able to sit outside and just take in all the beautiful and different bird sounds. We kept hearing the eagles, but never saw them. Don made all the sites very comfortable with their own BBQ. Honeypots and garbage cans are distributed amongst the campsites. Firewood is also available. A family of lovable goats keeps the lucious blackberries in check. Such a great time - a must go!

This was our second annual overnight trip to Grey Owl Hollow! As always, Seth & Yvonne are always so welcoming, and their property is beautiful.
For group camp sites, I don't think you can get any better. Electricity in the main camp, sink and running potable water, and plenty of room for several large tents. A noticeable upgrade was the automatic lights in the bathroom! This made going to the bathroom in the evening much easier.
Overall, we love Grey Owl Hollow and can't wait to come back next year!

Amanda’s geo dome was perfect for a weekend getaway. Everything was stocked well, the area is beautiful and peaceful and access to the water made for a beautiful paddle at sunset. We were visited by barred owls at night and seals on our paddle. It was perfect. Amanda was quick to answer any questions. We will definitely be back.

We had a great stay here! The campsite was private with a huge open field that made it feel like you had the whole place to yourself. One of our favorite parts was watching the deer grazing along the edge of the property throughout the day; it was such a peaceful place!
The host was friendly, responsive, and made everything easy. There are also several great hiking trails nearby, which made it the perfect weekend getaway. Just be sure to purchase a Discovery Pass ahead of time if you plan on hiking, as all of the trailheads require one.
We’d absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, scenic escape!
