We scored with a very private weekend with no other campers but would be perfect for a group of friends or 4 families one per site. My bf and I chose the site overlooking the creek and more private behind a bush but the site with the tent yurt looked awesome. Hosts were friendly and directions were clear, just try to arrive before dark or it will be a little challenging seeing the signs to your site. Would stay there again!

The camping area was quiet, clean, and spacious. I really enjoyed the composting toilet and shower area. Also having an area to make food out of the rain was great. Highly recommend staying at this serene nature getaway.

Great little spot. Each site had a fire pit and cute little picnic table. Compost toilet was clean and close by. We appreciated being on grass instead of gravel. Host came and said hello and shared location of shower and sink for cleaning dishes if needed.

I had a wonderful time! Camp was perfect, and so easy to find. It was raining my first night, but they have a barn that you can cook, chill wash up in; theres even a shower! highly recommend staying here if you want to be close to ocean shores but away from the crowds there.

A lovely and very well kept spot! Really appreciated how clean the outhouse was kept and the availability of a hot shower. The property was quiet and private while still being close to things to do. August was very kind! The campsite are small which was not an issue at all when we were the only ones there. We did unfortunately have a large group next to us in campsite #3 that was playing music late into the evening and had dogs off-leash that wandered into our campsite. Not the host’s fault at all and I ultimately decided the confrontation wasn’t worth the stress for just a couple nights. Overall, I’d highly recommend staying at Rainbow Ridge and would stay again myself!

Last Minute Gem

We ended up staying at the Rainbow Ranch on a last minute booking after trying to find a spot on the mountain. We stayed from 7/3/25- 7/7/25. August was a wonderful host. She was very accommodating. She was available for questions and assistance for most of stay. When she was unavailable she was sure to let us know. The camp site was spacious and relatively private, more than most state/national campgrounds. Most of the sites are also shady making it comfortable during the day. The property itself is larger than it appears. There is a nice path into a small clearing in the forest, and access to the creek, although it’s suggested to drive to one of the boat launches/ parks to actually get into the water. The property is conveniently located being only about 20 minutes from town, but the service at the property is spotty so you’ll still have the opportunity to unplug from technology. There are clear fire pits on the sites. The outhouse is surprisingly comfortable and fresh smelling due to the use of cedar chips to handle the waste in an environmentally friendly manner. There is limited water on the property so I would suggest you bring as much as you can, or prepare to make trips to town to buy more for showers, hand washing ect. It is pack in pack out so prepare to address your trash accordingly. We will definitely be staying at Rainbow Ranch in the future. We’re so grateful to have been able to find such a wonderful place on short notice.

Nice set up for tent camping. Not really private (close proximity to other sites/a property) but perfect for a night or two in the area! The bathroom was well maintained and they provided firewood for purchase as well!

The setting is pretty. A nice meadow, but not what we were hoping for. Lots of people, lots of noise from the other sites, which are all close together. No real privacy. The rooster started crowing when it was still pitch black out. .

Overall it was a good experience. The site itself was very cute and the host was friendly. The first night when we were the only campers was great. But the campsites were a bit close together so privacy was slim once our neighbors arrived, and noise carried easily between sites. There are also three homes within a stones’ throw of the campsite so it didn’t feel as immersed in nature as I was expecting. Our second night there was loud music and bass playing from one of the homes past midnight that kept our entire party awake. But it was a clean, safe place to sleep at night while we were in town to do other things.

Very cute area! No cell service but nice to unplug. Love that the host provides fire prevention (we did not have a fire but it was nice to see). Enjoyed one of the first showers. Download maps before you arrive for getting there and departing as the cell service was not available for Verizon or ATT. Host was very welcoming even though we booked 20 minutes before arriving.

I spent three quiet and restful nights in campsite #3 which was perfect for my 15’ travel trailer. There are 4 other campsites suitable for tents and small trailers or vans. The outdoor composting toilet was a plus and there are plans for an outdoor shower in the future. August’s property is located just outside the quaint town of Montesano and only 20 minutes from coastal communities and beaches. It worked perfectly as a base for exploration of the area’s amazing coastal communities and beaches.

The camp was well set up, except for the picnic tables and chairs. These tipped over when we sat on them which was dangerous. I have messaged the host but haven’t heard back - hopefully it’ll be fixed before you visit.

This was a beautiful site! I had planned on camping closer to the coast but every campsite was full so I booked this last minute and it was great! The site was gorgeous and quiet, I felt very safe. There were barely any bugs and the cute composting toilet was a plus

Car camping here was very straightforward. We ended up in site 2, not 4, since we were the only campers and the host said we could take our pick. Site 2 is in a copse of aspens and gave us some shade and privacy. Definitely bring your bug spray! Felt super safe. Zero issues. We had a fox visit at dawn while I was making tea, but it bolted when my dog spotted it.

We had a great experience camping here!! It was a beautiful and private location in the woods. Site #3 was by far the best location. Table and fire pit were well maintained. Directions were easy to follow. August greeted us and was very kind and welcoming. We will be back if we travel through this part of WA again.
