We had a great stay here! The campsite was private with a huge open field that made it feel like you had the whole place to yourself. One of our favorite parts was watching the deer grazing along the edge of the property throughout the day; it was such a peaceful place!
The host was friendly, responsive, and made everything easy. There are also several great hiking trails nearby, which made it the perfect weekend getaway. Just be sure to purchase a Discovery Pass ahead of time if you plan on hiking, as all of the trailheads require one.
We’d absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, scenic escape!

Great Hipcamp

“Rustic Getaway At Rustic Borders”
What a great campsite. The campsite is a very large and well maintained grass meadow surrounded by trees. It is a private setting. The host welcomed us in, loaded us up with firewood, and left us to enjoy their property. The entrance to the campsite is a little narrow, but I was able to get my truck and 30ft trailer in without help. My group had two RVs and we had a ton of space to spread out and play yard games. We also had deer wonder through in the evening.

This place offered an exceptional space for my two dogs. About the size of a football field. It was private. Road nose was minimal. You are about 2 miles off the main road. Saw some wild life: chicken, bunny, and deer. Rain water and garbage is offered. A complimentary bag of toilet paper and paper towels were left. The only thing I wasnt a fan of was the toilet. It was a nursing home style toilet with no lid in a pop up tent. Overall, highly recommend!

We had a great time at Rustic Borders. Steve and Kathy were super welcoming hosts. The space is huge, open, and private. We had good wind for kite flying and there are awesome trails on the property to wander. We’ll be back soon.

Tent camping at Kathy’s land was wonderful! There was so much open space to set up camp and enjoy the lawn with our dog. We were able to purchase firewood and a dozen eggs from Kathy which made for a wonderful breakfast. While camping on Kathy’s land we saw deer with two baby fawns, many different birds, and some beautiful butterflies. All in all it was a wonderful camping spot with wonderful hosts.

Beautiful Picture Perfect Campsite

We couldn't have asked for a better campsite or more welcoming hosts! The site is large with plenty of space for our party of (3): (2) trucks and (1) tent. A beautiful firepit is provided as well as a potable water for drinking and cleaning up.
A few chicken hens would greet us every morning, which was delightful for us city slickers. The weather was perfect for our weekend stay and allowed us to take a nice long hike around and near the property.
We couldn't have felt more welcome and this is easily the best Hipcamp location we've ever stayed at, thanks Kathy!

This was one of the best camping experiences I've ever had. Let me count the ways:
1. Friendly, caring, and attentive hosts--really wonderful people who went out of their way to make sure that I had everything I needed--water, trash can, fire pit with dried wood for a fire, picnic table.
2. Bucolic, extremely quiet and private location.
LARGE, SPACIOUS, FLAT, and VERDANT meadow, with trees on two sides and forest everywhere. The soil in the meadow was the perfect balance: tent stakes went in like butter, but bit like an iron vise. Even if there was a wind, those stakes would have held.
3. There was virtually no wind the entire time I was there.
4. There were virtually no bugs to speak of (late April).
5. The sounds of birdsong all day long.
6. Wildlife: a family of deer walked through the meadow one of the evenings I was there.
7. I slept like a baby every night I was there.
In short, it just doesn't get any better than this. This is truly an undiscovered gem. I will certainly be back, but I fear that once people start staying here it will quickly become one of those places where you have to book long in advance to find an opening. Nevertheless, try to find an opening, as this is a campsite done right--a model Hipcamp.
Sometimes, life can be surprising in a really wonderful way!
