It is a beautiful, private, and phenomenal location. The Porto potty was so clean and absolutely adorable. We very much appreciated all the extras provided in there. The boat was a fun surprise and the pups were even game (mostly) to go for a spin. The fishing is off the chart, but they seem to be spawning right now, so it was a total tease seeing these monsters that would not bite for the life of me. I seriously cannot wait to book again and bring more people with us.

Beautiful spot! Great little dinghy that the kids loved. Tons of trout out there. Private and secluded right off of Satsop river. Would highly recommend!!!

This is an absolute hidden gem. It feels like you’re the only people there in the river. John is an absolute tremendous host. This was our Maiden voyage for the 24 foot we just got from my grandfather who is just too old to do it anymore. My 5 year old son loved the fishing, my 3 year daughter found the sand and pretended her bike was a motorcycle. They loved it, and you’re only 45 minutes from colonel bob and 35 from Wynooche lake trails. John has a small slice of heaven he so willing to share with everyone and it’s much appreciated.

Summer riverside relaxation

We had a wonderful time here. It was hot and being able to take a dip in the river was amazing. There is tons of wildlife here including what we think is a beaver family quite close by, who were very active in the early morning. Lots of fish, bats, a variety of birds including a heron, coyotes in the distance and deer tracks in the site. The picnic table is great and shaded partially by the big tree. We would recommend bringing a canopy or tarp with you in the summer as otherwise the camp is fairly exposed. The site feels very private from the main house. There is some other activity on the river but far enough away that we were still able to relax. We'll definitely be back.

Thank you so much for a wonderful camping experience! We loved our time at Browning Hollow. The river is incredibly slow and peaceful - perfect for floating on a tube or swimming with the fish! We played croquet on the lawn, fly fished up river, went out to Wesport for the day and had fresh oysters and tuna for dinner! We will be back to spend more time at this secluded and private spot!

The space is private, and big enough to very comfortably fit the 6 of us plus our dog. Fishing was great, and the provided amenities were above and beyond. We'll definitely be back, this was a gem on the river with nothing but wilderness 360 degrees around you. Highly recommend!

This was our second time staying here-we spent 4 nights on the Satsop River- a perfect finishing touch to an exceptional month long journey. We immediately spread out and got serious about lounging. Weekdays are definitely the most peaceful and private days to enjoy the river. Weekday folks floating by in rafts and kayaks were very respectful of our space and privacy. Nice touches on the new solar lights and picnic table. Wildlife in the evening hours is plentiful. See you the next time around!

One of the most beautiful sites! Very private location and we could see how the river access would be wonderful for fishing and swimming. Unfortunately our dates were too cool to get in, but we still enjoyed watching the fish and birds along the river and will definitely return in the future. Also, it was close to some great day hikes in Olympic National Forest.

What an amazing place! Nice soft grass, beautiful setting and well cared for. Lots of little extras like a boat, propane fire pit, hot dog/marshmallow grilling sticks and corn hole game. Super clean port-a-potty. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back!

We had such a wonderful time hanging out with friends, taking advantage of the river access, fishing, boating in the small boat, and relaxing. We were so thankful for the very clean port-o-potty and for the spacious site. We brought our own additional tables, screens, and shade canopy which made the stay more comfortable. Most of us did not adequately prepare for the weather to be as chilly as it was at night until late morning. Aberdeen is a quick drive from the campsite if you need anything extra. There is an abundance of wildlife so please make sure to secure all food in a car, locking bins, coolers, etc., to keep the area clean.

Tempted to not leave a review because I would like to keep this spot a secret as much as possible. Wonderful peaceful little piece of land backed up to the river with decent fishing for the kids. Everything provided was in working order and clean. Just a great experience overall.

We originally booked this site as the first leg of a driving journey down to Oregon. Forget Oregon…We’re ready to come back and spend an entire week at Browning Hollow. I enjoyed kayaking while the husband fished. Our pups were happy swimming in the river. Our hosts kindly provided a propane campfire and tank since there was a burn ban. The bathroom was spotless and was even stocked with mosquito repellent wipes! This is one of our top Hipcamp bookings. We’re betting that we will have to book pretty far out in advance as this place is going to become extremely popular. Thank you for sharing the beautiful space.

Real hidden gem. Jon’s place was really awesome and private. Beautiful setting right on the river that you don’t have to share with anyone. Kids had a great time fishing and messing around on the small boat. Jon provided pretty much everything that we would need for our stay. He provided propane tank and firepit after fire ban was in effect. Bathroom was clean which my wife was thrilled about. He was very welcoming. Checked in on us before and after visit. Will be back.

Worth the 2.5 hour drive!!!! This site offers a secluded and private feel. The host had a row boat we used to go down the river a little, for an adventure. Our kids and dogs loved jumping in the water and swimming. We went fishing right off the bank and caught 2 trout! The porta potty was very well maintained and clean and it did not smell which was a huge plus!!!
A fire ban was in affect the 2nd night we were there and the hostess showed up and gave us a propane pit and full tank of propane so we could still enjoy a fire.
This place is a great place to go to just relax and get away. I plan on making another trip to this site as soon as we can.
Only con is the water is not a gradual grate. My 5 year old could not go in further then 2 to 3 feet because it does drop off a bit which would put the water up to her shoulders, so be cautious of that, but there us a rock beach area 50 feet or so down river that you can go and swim if you want too.
The site was extrmely clean!!!

This place was heaven on earth. So peaceful. We like finding spots where there are is no one next to us. Whole purpose of getting away. The only people we seen were the ones floating by one the beautiful calm river. The hosts were also fantastic. Came by right when we got there to make sure we had everything we needed. They set up a propane fire pit because the burn ban and even left some apples from their garden. We will definitely be back. Thanks for sharing your beautiful place with us

They have a really nice secluded spot on the Satsop river. The water is REALLY calm with lots of fish 🎣. Kat and Jon are really friendly and also very responsive with communication. We will definitely come back!

Browning Hollow was absolutely wonderful. The hosts were so responsive and Jon was flexible on having our group arrive at different times and even lent us his cornhole set! So fun!! So much wildlife (we saw fish, beavers, cranes, you name it) and the spot can't be beat, right on the river. Portapotty was clean and the propane fire pit provided was great to have especially in the burn ban. Will definitely be back. Thank you Jon!!

This is a sweet spot. Right on the river. All to yourself. The water is crystal clear, and hundreds of fish are just waiting ro be taken. Firewood, fire pokers, corn hole, lounge chairs, and a small paddle boat are all there to use! The honey bucket is even tastefully decorated haha. Very nice and accommodating hosts as well. We'll definitely be back!
