This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty. It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka.
Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinary spots on earth that make you feel like you’re in another world. The sites aren’t suitable for parties or loud groups.
It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below.
The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls.
Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and keep noise down after 10pm to enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside
At the entrance to the campsites there is a barn community room with a charging station, cold water sink, fridge, coffee maker, cookware, and a port-a-potty. There are 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water.
This is a leave no trace site. Take all your trash with you when you leave. Bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty!
Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log.
The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms stands with fresh produce and organic meat close by.
Within a 5 miles radius is a general store, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, Rooted Movement, the Sap Bush Country Store and Café, and Mustang Valley (a wild mustang sanctuary). Nearby hikes include Looking Glass Pond and Vroman's Nose, and others.

These are beautiful wooded camping country sites with plant and wild life located just 10 miles from downtown Corning, New York. There is one rustic cabin available for rent, along with a teepee site, and 2 tent sites. We are between the Finger Lakes and the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, just 1 mile off highway 99/15. Sites are located less than a 400 yard hike from the parking area, each site having both a picnic table and fire ring. There is an outhouse located within 250 yards from all sites. There is river access one mile from camp. Campers that require help getting to a site, can be driven up the hill via side by side. Every site is connected to state land with over 2,700 acres worth of hiking trails. We have a number of mountain bikes, kayaks, canoes, snow shoes, tents, sleeping bags/mats, etc. available for rent on site. In addition, if guests are interested in classes on site, I am a wilderness and survival expert willing to offer assistance as a guide through the trails, on the river, with setting up camp, etc. Some of my survival classes include fire making, shelter building, edible food foraging, self defense training, and fishing and hunting.

Towner's Country Paradise started out as a wild forest and pasture for cows in the 1940's, owned by Llewellyn Towner. In the 1960s, Llewellyn's love for aviation led him to construct a small airstrip and hangar, and then his son Terry began to plant Christmas Trees (no more cows) and clear much of the land. By the early 1970's our main and largest pond was built and since that time our fully functional cabin, several more fish ponds, roads, trails, running water and generated electricity have been added. Lake Taghkanic is a great place for both summer and winter stays, with plenty of tent campsites as well as cabins and cottages, and a variety of activities to do year round. For winter folks, there's cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails, as well as ice skating and ice fishing areas, and plenty of fire pits to warm those chilly bones. For summer lovin', there are two beaches, so if someone kicks sand in your potato salad (accidentally, of course), you can just go to another beach and pretend like it never happened. The only sleeping quarters that are on the water are some of the cottages in the West End Cottage Area, so if you're planning on playing Beach Party Bingo, plan accordingly or be willing to walk a bit from your tent or cabin.

Welcome to The Record Room - Built directly from our hands and our hearts, The Record Room borders the fine line of camping and glamping, with a wood-fired cedar hot tub and outdoor shower that feeds off a small artesian creek, a sauna tucked within the trees, overlooking scenic ridge, and solar-powered vinyl that plays inside and out across a vast selection of vintage, classic, and current albums.
Back to our small creek, there are plenty of quaint spots to dip your toes. The Monguap River is close enough to see and hear, and the Delaware River is just 2 miles up the road, with rafting, kayaking, and canoeing companies all along it.
A queen Tempur-Pedic bed, as well as an overstuffed futon, will take care of you come nightfall. The outdoor kitchen is built for cooking some real food - a flat-top grill, a single burner, a stainless steel grate grill, cast-iron pans, and all utensils, all powered by propane. A wood stove inside will handle the chilly mornings and brisk nights. We have a pool table under a custom-built pavilion just for your enjoyment. And last but certainly not least, our outhouse, which is maintained by the women of our family.
We also have a nearby waterfall, which is as close as a three-minute drive down the road. The Hawks Nest lookout is under 10 minutes away. We recommend downloading a trail finder app, as once you arrive here, there will be zero service or wifi. Since we only have one bed and one futon, only four individuals can sleep comfortably, but we also have a couple of spots for your friend circle to set up some tents. Our mission is to get people back into the life we feel so disconnected from nowadays, and we provide the space to be able to do so.
We highly recommend the firewood package, as it makes life much easier, unless you plan on picking through the woods on your property (which we totally support!)

The feeling of peace is about 1 mile off the road. Pulling into Apple Cove you'll see we've cleared areas for tents and small van style RVs. There is an individual fire pit for each camper, a small rock bottom creek runs through the 15 acres for a nice, relaxing view of the woods. This off-the-grid tiny house is nestled on a 23 acre parcel at the end of a quarter-mile dirt road. The property itself is secluded but is less than 2 miles from the heart of Saranac Lake's downtown. This property is bordered by the Saranac River, the backside of Baker Mountain and State Forest. The only other building on the property is our timberframe which we may or may not be at during the time of your visit. The property does have private trails up to the cliffs on the backside of Baker mtn however, the Saranac River is down a steep embankment so it does not make for a good place to launch a boat (several public boat launches nearby).
The Mt Baker tiny house is a great basecamp for hiking the Saranac Lake 6-ers, paddling/boating along the Saranac Chain of lakes or Saranac River, Mountain Biking at Dewey, Pisgah or other nearby BETA trails.
IMPORTANT DETAILS:
This tiny cabin is completely off the grid: no electricity, heat or cooling.
Queen sized bed - we provide the linens.
The driveway is narrow - so nothing in tow.

Weekend Trip to Waterfall Sanctuary & Quiet Retreat
This was the perfect spot for our “down the road from home” getaway night! Listing descriptions of the cabin, amenities, and directions were clear and accurate. The cabin and campsite area were serenely simple, private, and comfortable making it easy to relax into “just being.” The most special part of this place is the access to the waterfall— as the listing makes clear, it’s definitely a steep deer trail that requires care on the part of the camper to hike down & back safely. As a Schoharie County local, the waterfall on the property is such a gem that we were so happy to have access to and to see taken care of well. Our only suggestion would be to remove the big rock wedged between trees in the middle of the trail headed down to the cabin for safety. Oh! And maybe a logbook for campers to sign. :) Thank you for having us & we hope to return soon! ~Mya & Jake

Absolutely my favorite Hipcamp I’ve been to. The cabin was super clean. The amenities (outlets, chairs, blankets, pillows, lamps, nightstands) in the cabin were luxurious. The screens of the windows and door were all well secured. The hike to the waterfall is steep but not difficult if careful!!! We loved every second and amy is a great host :)

Weekend Trip to Lake Of The Woods Cabin Camp HST
I hate to even leave this review because I'm afraid once people know it won't be available as much as I will want it! What an amazing place. The cabin is absolutely adorable and peaceful (we didn't notice the traffic and when you did hear the train it was actually soothing). It was so amazing to use a record player again, I haven't done that in years. You are given it great little map to the trails and art you'll find behind the cabin which was beautiful and touched your soul. It poured the entire time we were there and was still once of the most amazing Hipcamp experiences we've had. The hosts are absolutely amazing. Would leave you alone if that's what you wanted or would be there right away with help if needed. I can't say enough about this one! Will be going back every chance I get!!!!

Cute little cabin the woods!! Sam our host was great and responsive! The outdoor hot tub is awesome! Excellent set up for rainy weather too - the out door patio cover worked great and means you can grill and have a fire, even in the rain. FYI there’s power available and you should bring ice for the yeti cooler

This property is so beautiful I almost don't want to share because I want it available for the next time I want to book. Listening to the babbling brook while sleeping is the best part. The cabin has electricity and all the things you need. Bed is descent, it's super close to Watkins Glen and tons of hiking options. We brought our own portable shower because the brook is way too cold to rinse off in. The waterfall is a little extra bonus. Luke stayed and hung out with us all day Saturday and is a sweet boy!

We loved our time at the Record Room. It was an all around incredible experience despite several days of rainy weather. We had plenty to keep us busy, including the stellar record collection, cooking outside, a good collection of games, and the hot tub. The cabin and site are impeccably neat and intentionally designed, and have everything you could possibly need to enjoy the outdoors but be cozy. We so enjoyed traipsing through the mossy woods and exploring the surrounding area. We'll be back for sure!

We loved the cabin and the surrounding area. It really gave us the quiet break we needed. It is basic but has got everything you need. We would've just preferred to know before the booking how many mosquitoes there would be. It is impossible to stay outside, you're instantly surrounded by thousands of them.

2 nights at Minglewood Camp
We had a great time glamping at camp minglewood as a couple . Everything was as described. Perfect location for exploring the finger lakes region. Site was located behind a mobile home park, but it felt very private and secluded. The cabin was well designed, comfortable and you can drive right up to the doorsteps. Kitchen was well stocked but we didn’t use it. There is a hot water shower system and a kitchen faucet too which uses rain water collected in a big tank, but we brought our own portable shower system and used bottled spring water. Falling asleep to the gentle sounds of the creek and waking up to fresh air and greenery made the stay unforgettable.

I loved our stay from the moment we got there until the very end! We were greeted by two of Kim's dogs that guided us right to pocket corner cabin. Kim brought us up firewood and water to douse the campfire. The little cabin itself was nice, the door was secure so we could contain our pups at night, you can open the windows to listen to the night sounds and it had cute quirky decor with comfy mattresses.
I absolutely loved interacting with the alpacas, chickens and even the turkey once I realized that he wasn't trying to kill me and just trying to say hello. LOL Little big guy is quite a character but then so are some of her roosters, especially Adolf. Overall there was plenty of space to move around and explore, Kim was the perfect host, available for any questions or help that we needed but not obtrusive. She invited us into her life allowing me to help feed the animals and I cannot wait to go back!

Campsite and cabin are incredible. Secluded and private. Great views. Lots of little extra amenities included in case you forget something. We had the best time!!

This was my 4th stay at Towner's and as per usual it was a great time! The pond is great for fishing, bundles of firewood for sale onsite, beautiful views, and a friendly atmosphere. Absolutely recommend!

Weekend Trip to Waterfall Sanctuary & Quiet Retreat
We had a wonderful time camping on Amy's land. Everything was as described in the listing. There was a mix up where the campers before us went to the incorrect cabin and Amy was responsive and kind when sorting it out. The cabin was clean and smelled good, like fresh wood. We appreciated the carts supplied to help transport supplies to the site, and the cooking supplies supplied in the community room helped us out too. It rained one day which made it hard to cook outside but we were able to use the microwave to warm things and the coffee pot to heat up water. We also had a great hike at Vromans Nose which was 10 min away from the site. The trail to the waterfall is steep but the falls are worth the challenge. A local cutie pie kitty cat visited us when the weather was nice which was a joy. We are already looking into when we can come to the area next!

I had a lovely stay in the cabin on Ken's beautiful property! I had the whole area to myself and loved exploring the trails, the first spring flowers and of course the waterfall! What a cool spot! The cabin was cozy and comfortable. The perfect spot to enjoy the peace and quiet right by a creek!

Excellent place if you want to get away and relax. The cabin is more than comfortable for 2 people and 2 dogs. I appreciated that Ken would always answer my questions. The location is great, very close to a nice town where you'll find your gas stations , grocery stores , Walmart, many restaurants, and a state park. We really enjoyed our stay

Weekend Trip to Mt Baker Tiny Cabin
We really enjoyed the comfortable off-grid experience offered by the Mt. Baker cabin. Despite the unseasonably cool temps, the hosts provided extra bedding and we had no trouble staying warm and comfy throughout our stay. The location was great with much to do within a 5 minute drive, and access to 30-1 hour hiking and sight-seeing destinations.

Weekend Trip to Riverside Retreat and Tiny Cabin
This tiny riverside cabin was absolutely perfect for our weekend getaway. It was fully stocked with all the basics and so many very thoughtful details, as well. The site was nicely tucked away and private. The cleanliness of the porta-potty was also notable - world's cleanest porta potty. Robbin was an excellent and thoughtful host with very thorough notes for our stay at cabin (every quick question we came across could be answered by her notes) and she also sent along a comprehensive list of things to visit in the area which ended up being the guide to our adventures around the area. Everything about our stay was perfect down to the amount of firewood provided with our 2-night stay. The only thing we would have changed about our stay would be to stay longer. We will absolutely be visiting again!
