This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. For July 4th weekend, and Labor Day weekend drive-up sites are a 2 night minimum. In the off season starting after Thanksgiving through April, there is no water or toilet or shower facilities available. The solar shower and water lines may be shut off any time in October if freezing conditions prevail. Please check with us. Our 75 acres is a wonderful, diverse mix of habitat, harmoniously integrated with our small farm. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond or artesian spring fed pool. Our location is convenient to the Berkshire Mountains, state parks, hiking and other attractions, including Ramble Wild tree to tree adventures and Jiminy Peak. There are a few miles of rail trail access just down the road.

For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty. It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka. Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinary spots on earth that make you feel like you’re in another world. The sites aren’t suitable for parties or loud groups. It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below. The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls. Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and keep noise down after 10pm to enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside At the entrance to the campsites there is a barn community room with a charging station, cold water sink, fridge, coffee maker, cookware, and a port-a-potty. There are 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water. This is a leave no trace site. Take all your trash with you when you leave. Bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty! Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log. The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms stands with fresh produce and organic meat close by. Within a 5 miles radius is a general store, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, Rooted Movement, the Sap Bush Country Store and Café, and Mustang Valley (a wild mustang sanctuary). Nearby hikes include Looking Glass Pond and Vroman's Nose, and others.

Weekend Trip to Runamuk Farm

We loved our stay in Cabin D! I was looking for a camping experience but wanted some privacy and peace and quiet that a camp ground can’t offer. This was the perfect experience!! Total peace and quiet with an awesome view. Plus it still offers the classic camping experience without the effort that is needed to prep for tent camping because the bed and shelter is prepped for you. I highly recommend these cabins and we hope to return soon

We had a wonderful stay at Angie's off-grid cabin. It was clean, cozy, and very peaceful. We loved waking up in the peaceful setting surrounding the cabin. It was refreshing to disconnect from screens and relax. Guests are free to use the shower facility, coffee maker, and hot tub, and Angie and her daughter brought a yummy breakfast right to our cabin in the morning. Would definitely recommend this cozy place!

The wildflower cabin was clean and comfortable. The site was completely private and we only had neighbors the first night but barely heard them. The site had everything we needed. The falls were absolutely incredible! We hiked all the way up and wow, what a unique experience! I recommended to my family. Thank you Amy for hosting us! We will absolutely return.

Runamuk Farm DID NOT disappoint! The views were wonderful, and Bonnie was an excellent host. The beds are real (as opposed to some older comments that they’re blow up mattresses) and quite comfortable. We felt like we were in a dream waking up under the perfectly placed bug net and sunrise. Every accommodation for camping is provided. Be mindful that you are renting in farm country so you might hear typical farm noises like cows, roosters, tractors, etc. If you’re a light sleeper, bring some earplugs (I don’t leave home without them) and you’ll sleep soundly! Don’t hesitate to book…just do it! Go! Right now!

Ken's cabin was the perfect escape from reality. Very short walk down to the waterfall or up the hill to watch the horses graze. Not far from Montour Falls or Watkins Glen was a huge plus because we were able to beat the crowds at Watkins Glen State Park. Wouldn't recommend for motorcycle camping because to road down to the cabin gets fairly muddy, but we would definitely come back in the car!

1 night at Angie's Country Cabins B&B

This cabin was the perfect retreat from a long drive! While my location was rustic and lacked running water, I had everything I needed (the bed was comfy, the fire pit was beautiful, and there was even an fully charged fan!). The cabin was clean and beautifully simple - my dog and I were both thrilled. Advice: Bring along a headlamp and simple shoes to slip into at night (for when you need to use the outhouse). Also, consider bringing some additional lighting for inside the cabin at night. Finally, be sure to have plenty of drinking water with you. You can shower at the main house, but all other water needs are up to you.

Weekend Trip to Smyrna Lake Campsite

This cabin was exactly what we needed. It was clean, quiet and peaceful. The private dock for fishing was amazing. The cabin itself is so adorable and modern. The fire pit was nice and the Adirondack chairs were a plus! Definitely plan to be back and stay longer! A+ rating!

3 nights at Waterfall Creek

Ken’s cabin made for such a wonderful stay! Super cute and tucked back in the woods. The tent sites were far enough away that you didn’t feel like your neighbors were on top of you. Showering in the waterfall made for the full outdoor experience. Would recommend!!

Weekend Trip to Waterfall Sanctuary & Quiet Retreat

Our stay at the Wildflower cabin was amazing. The cabin was extremely beautiful! We especially loved all the screened windows so we could listen to the peepers and the falls at night. The community kitchen was well stocked and very useful. The waterfalls are a must see, wow they were so beautiful. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Angie's Country Cabins B&B

The love shack cabin was just what we needed as we drive across the country. We love the outdoors and as our vacation comes to end we wanted one more night out in nature. The bed was comfortable and although the hot tub was an option we chose to just hang around our little campfire and grill some steaks. We really enjoyed a relaxing evening at the love shack!
