The Historic Farm was purchased by Townsend Thorndike from the first colonizing family to claim ownership of this unceded land, the McCrillis family. It was Town's place to get away from the busy life. As time went on and his money dwindled and plans to sell off some of the land arose.
Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. So, Nick decided to move back to the homestead to create an example of what a healthy life for the land and its inhabitants looks like. HipCamp was the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an Intentional lifestyle. One in which we hope to share our way of being that brings awareness to the natural world we have fallen so far from. Nick and his tribe of like minds are creating a holistic, educational, retreat, workshop, and event center where people can come to learn how to co-exist in a harmonious relationship with nature and each other. My land is easily accessible by main road, has ample parking, and yet cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, wildlife, fireflies and peepers are just outside the door. In the summer season, several organic farmstands and local picturesque swimming holes range between 5-15 minutes away. Autumn's glorious show is on display everywhere you look. Winter offers easy access to groomed VAST trails in the field behind the house and studio. Hopkins Center, AVA Gallery, the Lebanon Opera House, Northern Stage, and a wide array of restaurants are within 20 minutes. The Lyme bridge is now open, so there are more restaurants, trails, activities and the Dartmouth Skiway! Despite the proximity to town and even to my home, the simple studio space is serene in its sumac baby forest. The space is one of a kind, with a giant salvaged chapel window, cathedral ceilings, a candelabra, a clawfoot tub, a quirky outhouse, on-demand hot water, electricity and wifi. The site lists that it sleeps 4? But three is more realistic, and I cannot seem to change it. Also, we have 2 barn cats and the toilet really is an outhouse with an old quarter pipe as its roof.

Dotted around the barn and sprawling wildflower meadow are two small orchards, an ever-expanding vegetable garden, berry patches, chickens, and a newly renovated off-grid cabin.
Centrally located between Interstates 91 and 93 in quaint Warren, NH, we are within walking distance of two restaurants, an ice cream stand, a well-stocked hardware store/convenience store, a local baseball field and playground, and the town common, where you can drop in on various community gatherings year-round.
A short drive will bring you to a plethora of rivers, lakes, ponds, and trailheads. If off-road motorsports are your thing, our back gate opens directly onto one of the largest ATV/snowmobile trail systems in the state.
Despite all of those nearby amenities, Scrump Acres has a bustling array of wildlife and a quiet, rural feel. With our many crabapple trees and winterberry bushes lining the meadow, Scrump Acres provides a robust winter food source for rare migratory birds.
On summer nights, the meadow is ablaze with thousands of fireflies set to a chorus of peepers. It's not uncommon to see a great blue heron or a bald eagle at the pond next door, which also serves as a pit stop for flocks of Canada geese during the spring and fall.
If you wander the property, you'll likely see us puttering around and tending to our many projects. If you're curious, ask what we're up to, and maybe you'll get roped into making pickles or pressing cider from our fruit trees!

We are off the beaten path in the forest near the White Mountain National Forest. A 6 to 8 minute hike from your site gets you to a private lake.
We have two local waterfalls only 2 miles away. Drive back out to 5 Kezars road. Take a right on the paved road. It will turn back into dirt. Keep on this road until you see a beautiful stone house on your left. Keep going just up the hill and you will see a right turn into the woods where you can park. There are no signs for Kezar gorge. Hike towards the sound of the falls. There is a small cave under the falls you can climb up into if you are a strong swimmer. There is a second set of falls if you hike down the river. A most magical spot for sure.

Virginia lake is in the White Mountain National forest and is only 6 miles ( a ten minute drive away) Sometimes you have to hike in a bit to get to the beach. Very private. Shallow beach is great for children and dogs.
Keewayden Lake Dam is a fun place to swim in a local lake. Only an 8 minute drive
Keoka lake has a nice beach with a dock to swim too. !0 minute drive

Absolutely amazing! The cabin looks exactly like the pictures. It’s very quiet and relaxing. It has everything one needs for an adventurous night surrounded by nature! The hosts, Rachael and Justin, were lovely! They greeted us with joy and showed us the cabin, while also reassuring us that they would be around if we needed anything. Justin even gave us some apple butter he made. It was delicious! Highly recommend!

Great little cabin! We came with our 5.5 month and dog. Was plenty of space for a pack and play that we brought and a dog bed. It was at the end of the row and there weren’t any rvs or campers for a few spaces so it felt like more private. Cabin was very clean. We rented linens for $10 from them and they were clean and comfy. Came with a fridge, tv, ac, and heater, fire pit, picnic table, water, and electricity. Fire wood for sale at office along with a bunch of other useful things in the store. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Staff was helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place!

You are living in a beautiful, detailed puzzle in a beautiful spot. It's really well-equipped with two fire pits (one with a grill for cooking, and water to rinse (not drink) in the cabin. It's warm and clean and has windows for light and air. You're about a mile from the main camp area, which has showers and more cooking stuff and electricity. You can't see or hear any other campsites from where you are.

Everything was fantastic. Mark and Trish were friendly, quick to respond when we had questions, but also gave us our space. The cabin is great and the outhouse was very clean. Having a place to shower a little down the hill was very nice after hiking.
It was ~15 minutes from Cornish which made for easy shopping and good restaurants. Between weather and good restaurants, we ended up eating out both nights, but the fire pit, grill, and washing setup looked like they would make for a very nice evening of grilling. We hope to be back!

Okay, where to even start? By far the COOLEST place I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying. The escape room aspect kept us entertained for hours even though we couldn’t figure out the last clue it was a blast, This place is magical in every way.
