In May of 2024, Nourish restaurant will be open during weekends at HBC, providing organic farm-to-table meals for the public and our guests–both indoor and outdoor seating is available. Thanks to our farm’s extensive perennial food system, Nourish has a rotating seasonal menu featuring fruit, herbs, and wild greens grown onsite. HBC is a retreat destination for mountain biking, skiing, and hiking, with private access to Green Woodland’s 23,000 acres of public trails next door! Our trails feature hand and machine-built features for riders of all skill levels. Under an hour of driving will get you to Mt. Moosilauke on the Appalachian Trail, renowned climbing at the Rumney Crags, and dozens of pristine NH lakes. Back on the farm, our swimming holes, hammocks, and communal fire pit offer peace and community connection after a full day of outdoor adventures.
Guests are encouraged to recreate and restore amidst the natural beauty of our rural property, explore our orchards and vegetable gardens, and enjoy open-air, leisurely dining at our on-farm restaurant. I wanted a cabin in the woods forever and my boys built me this awesome cabin! Drive down in good weather (SUV), walk or snowshoe in winter, about 3-400 yards. Beautiful, DRY {No running water}, no electricity cabin. Called "Unplugged" for several reasons: No electricity, No internet and most phones don't work! Bring books! 16 x 20 with a loft with stairs. Queen bed in loft and futon downstairs. Has an outhouse. Stocked with basics for cooking on regular size grill, small grill and 2 burner camp stove.
Cabin is well insulated, uses a Big Buddy heater for heat in winter.

Overview
The resort town of Meredith puts you in the center of New Hampshire’s Lakes Region. Lying on the western shores of Lake Winnipesaukee in the foothills of the White Mountains, the town is a gateway to such activities as boating, paddling, swimming, and fishing on the lake, as well as hiking and skiing in the surrounding mountains. A great way to see the area, especially in fall, is by traveling on the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad, an old-fashioned train that rides along the western shore of Winnipesaukee from Meredith to Weirs Beach and Lakeport, just outside Laconia.
Where to go
Lake Winnipesaukee
The state’s largest lake, Lake Winnipesaukee is the focal point of the Lakes Region. Activities on offer include boating and waterskiing in the summer and ice fishing and skating in the winter. Ellacoya State Park’s campground, on the lake’s southwest shore, is a good place to base yourself.
Castle in the Clouds
Just 25 minutes northeast of Meredith, in the Ossipee Mountains of Moultonborough, the sprawling conservation area known as Castle in the Clouds is packed full of trails, waterfalls, and viewpoints that take in Lake Winnipesaukee and the surrounding mountains. The “castle” that the area is named for is Lucknow, an early 20th-century mansion.
Gunstock Mountain
Heading 30 minutes south, Gunstock Mountain offers year-round activities, from cross-country skiing, tubing, and snowshoeing in winter to ziplining, hiking, biking, and tackling a treetop obstacle course in summer.
When to go
Meredith is an all-season destination. Its lakeside opportunities and nearby Weirs Beach makes summer the most popular season. Fall, however, is very attractive as it brings spectacular foliage scenery. The winter is also great for snow sports enthusiasts who can go skiing on Gunstock Mountain and in the White Mountain National Forest. While spring can be wet, it is relatively crowd-free.
