Standout cabin in the woods. Mattresses & pillows provided (we put our stuff overtop theirs). Luxury hotel-style fire pit set up -the best I’ve seen. Inside camp stove (for heat) is excellent & so easy to use. Fully built out and large outhouse. Gas stove (inside) & gas grill outside. Any comments you see about strangers driving by is because there are other cabins! Nothing to worry about. Nicely located for reasonable driving access to The Ledges & Rock River. Will stay again!

Truly one of the best experiences I’ve had, words can’t describe the beauty of this area! The cabin was perfect for me and had even more accommodations than I expected! There was plenty of cooking grates, 2 fire pits, a tent spot, and a shower stall to hang the solar bag to shower in private. The walk to the falls was definitely steep so be warned it is not for the faint of heart, but absolutely worth it every time!!! If you’re open to a real genuine camping experience and want to see nature in a pure and beautiful way I HIGHLY recommend sacred falls, you can’t go wrong 🥰

There’s campsites around the property but we were the only ones out there during our stay so it was very quiet and close to a swimming hole. Stephanie was very helpful with anything we needed. Stephanie met us when we arrived and offered advice about the Somerset Reservoir to walk. Peaceful, plush green, quiet spot. The sunshine cabin was perfect for myself, my husband and our two dogs! We cooked dinner on the charcoal grill while watching the sunset.. The fireflies in the field at night were magical as we sat next to the campfire! We are already talking about returning later this summer!

We LOVED this trip! The camp was exactly as described and the host was very detailed in the directions which helped a lot. There were really nice added touches like a water bowl for our dog, fire grates for cooking over the fire, an area to hang the bag for showing, and the pillows/blankets already there. We hiked down to the waterfall the first morning we were there and it was incredible. We were the only ones there which made it so special. We went with our 2 year old daughter and although the water was a bit chilly for her she loved exploring and throwing the rocks for our dog. We had her in a hiking backpack because although it was a short hike, the host wasn’t kidding about it being steep.. but the ropes tied along the hill definitely helped a lot. We became frequent visitors of Barbers farm stand down the street and picked up a few fresh veggies to grill. Make sure you ask them about their vodka. We also hiked Vroman’s nose which is down the road and it was a nice easy, well groomed trail. We hope to be back soon to visit and explore the area some more!

Our stay at Dom's Moon in the Pond farm was ideal. The cabin was cozy and comfortable while the screens successfully kept the bugs out. The property is bucolic with adorable cows, lambs, chickens, etc. We pre ordered the spicy sausage with fennel along with other farm fresh foods - which were delicious. It was the perfect home after a long day of swimming and hiking. Would definitely come again!

This cabin was well thought out. We had everything we needed to stay the night, get a fire going, etc. There were solar lights, there was heating, there was bug spray. So if we had forgotten anything, it would have been fine. There were also some games and things to do - it wasn't just a 'box' in the woods. I really appreciate the amount of communication from the host. It was evident that she wanted us to have a good time and enjoy our stay.

The Sunshine Cabin was perfect. So was the beautiful view and the meadow next to it that lit up with fireflies in the evening. We also enjoyed swimming at Somerset Reservoir just a mile or so down the road. I would definitely return!

The Awakening Garden

It is tucked in between the Hudson River (8 miles to the East) and the Catskill Mountains (10 miles to the west). It is just 6 miles from the Village of Saugerties and 14 miles to Woodstock, NY. The piece available for camping is 10 acres, but the entire Garden is comprised of 98 acres of rolling land (most of it in a forestry protection plan) bordered on the west by acres of marshland. Many trails criss-cross the Garden and lead one to pretty or interesting vistas including a large mountain laurel patch, ancient graveyard, and different stands of mixed wood forests. There’s lots of wildlife both on land and in the marshes.

Waterfall Sanctuary & Quiet Retreat

NOTE: Not suitable for parties or loud groups. For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty and power. It is considered a sacred site that has been central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka, also known as the Mohawks, Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, Kahonrakén:ra Waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into a hidden pool, running into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. The effect is transporting. Truly, it is one of those extraordinarily beautiful spots on earth that makes you feel like you are in another world. It's a 10 minute hike down the gorge to the waterfall from the campsites. Each campsite has a private path down to the waterfall, where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire at your fire pit and fall asleep under the stars listening to the waterfall and the river below. Be aware that the hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls. Please be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and to keep noise down after 10pm to chillax and enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside that makes Schoharie so special. In the big red barn at the entrance to the campsites there is a community room with a charging station, cold water sink, mini fridge, coffee maker, grills, and a port-a-potty for your use. There are also 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water. :) This is a leave no trace site. Please take all your trash with you when you leave. And please bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty! Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log. The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms with fresh produce and organic meat within 5 miles of the house. There are several farm stands and a general store a few miles away, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, and the Sap Bush Country Store and Café just up the hill in West Fulton. Mustang Valley, a wild mustang sanctuary and rescue center, is just down the road. Nearby hikes include Looking Glass Pond and Vroman's Nose, among many others.

This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. The Little Witch Cottage

The Little Witch Cottage is a rustic charming cottage from 1929 with timber framing and Catskill blue stone flooring. It sits in the middle of our yard about 200 feet from our more modern home. We have about 9 acres set back from the road. The cottage has a queen sized bed, dining table, and small kitchenette. The kitchenette has a mini fridge, dishes, and an induction stove top. We recently wired this vintage beauty to run on solar power and has an outhouse with a composting toilet, sink, and heated outdoor shower. Outside the cottage is a small garden, picnic table, fire pit, and chairs. Our land is mostly sloped fields that we are slowly turning into meadows full of native flowers and plants. There are mowed paths through the tall grass. This is perfect glamping spot, a mixture of comfort and nature. The Campsites at Oak Lodge are located on an historic property in Palenville, New York which once hosted vacation cabins, lodge, and a tavern before it was turned into a private home. It now offers a camping experience in a wooded area with mature trees, but close to several amenities in the hamlet of Palenville. It has easy access to the main road. Each campsite includes a generous space to pitch your tent and a fire pit. There is a communal area shared by both the Bluebird and Barn Owl campsites with a picnic table, drinking water, a small gas grill, hammocks, and a fire pit with Adirondack chairs. There is an outhouse and wash-up area for all campers. The two acres provide both a wooded area and a large grassy space. Although set back far from the road, you will hear some vehicle noise and there are nearby streetlights. Oak Lodge is one mile from Catskill Park trails leading to the wilderness area including North and South Lake. It is between sections 22 and 23 on the Long Path. You are a mile to a wine and spirits shop, and a quaint but hip general store that offers breakfast and lunch. There is a one bedroom cottage also available for rent on AirBnB. See “The Acorn” at Oak Lodge in Palenville, NY. When visiting: 1. Park near the entrance of the main house and use the wagon to bring your gear to the campsite. (Do not park close to the little cottage attached to the rear of the house as there may be guests there.) 2. There are wild animals in the area (raccoons, possums, bears, deer, fisher cat), so be sure to store your food far from your tent (preferably in your car). 3.
