Please bring your own firewood if you intend to have a fire. I offered wood to guests in the past when I was able but found that tricky to manage as there are times I myself am out of wood. There is plenty of felled wood all around as the property is surrounded by a dense forest and guests are welcome to gather that to supplement fire making. In my experience as a host, I have noted that folks come together and build mini-communities, share food, fires and is generally a positive vibe. Some come for privacy and solitude, which has not been an issue thus far. All in all the energy is upbeat and folks make friends along the way- me too! Brattleboro is a funky, hipster town with many excellent restaurants and much to see and do. For winter enthusiasts Mount Snow is a 30 minute drive and folks can cross country ski and snowshoe right from their camp sites to the 36 mile trail. The Hipcamper can expect privacy yet easy accessibility to the homeowner for tips and ideas to support a positive experience. Camp TedRock Adirondack Forest Retreat provides private and secluded off grid campsites and structures on 5 forested acres within the Blue Line of The Adirondack State Park in Thurman New York. Just minutes from I-87 and the Lake George Region, our A Frame site offers a 120 square foot authentic A-Frame cabin with an open Adirondack Lean-to approach. This 1-4 person A frame comes with 2 to 4 sleeping cots, 2 hammocks (available) with hanging space inside or out and plenty of space to pitch a tent all around, tent included. Down by the runoff stream (sometimes there is no runoff!) you'll find a fire ring with a cooking grill and outdoor seating. Inside the A frame you're provided a lantern, gas cook stove, kitchen ware, food storage cooler and small table and chairs. 14 gallons of potable water is provided. There is a small corner loo inside the A frame with a flushing RV type toilet for the ladies and also a comfortable Adirondack outhouse with an ecological waste removing system. Although the A frame is UNHEATED, there is a small propane space heater available to take off the chill of a cool Adirondack evening. A 1 lb Propane bottle is provided. Additional Propane is available to purchase. This 5-acre quiet paradise is surrounded by on site walking trails where the only sounds are the owls and an occasional airplane. Camp TedRock is close to many popular Adirondack adventures including nearby Crane Mountain, spectacular Garnet Lake, Lake George, the Hudson River and many more. Fox Farm is located on 8 magical acres in eclectic Brattleboro, VT. Pitch your tent in a sacred private white pine forest or closer to the trail-head with access to a charcoal grill, a huge fire circle and a picnic table. If you prefer a roof over your head, check Fox Farm Cottage @ Fox Farm. Located ideally on a trail-head that leads to the West River Trail (a 36-mile scenic trail through the West River Valley – eventually linking Brattleboro, Dummerston, Newfane, Townshend, Jamaica and South Londonderry) and the West River, offering opportunities to hike, fish, swim, ski, snow shoe and bike. I have had up to 2 campers and an occasional van/camper at the Council of the Elders. I have most recently had requests to book the entire Pine Forest for guests who are traveling together and want privacy- and Ido my best to work with people to accommodate any needs. Please bring your own firewood if you intend to have a fire. I offered wood to guests in the past when I was able but found that tricky to manage as there are times I myself am out of wood. There is plenty of felled wood all around as the property is surrounded by a dense forest and guests are welcome to gather that to supplement fire making. In my experience as a host, I have noted that folks come together and build mini-communities, share food, fires and is generally a positive vibe. Some come for privacy and solitude, which has not been an issue thus far. All in all the energy is upbeat and folks make friends along the way- me too! Brattleboro is a funky, hipster town with many excellent restaurants and much to see and do. For winter enthusiasts Mount Snow is a 30 minute drive and folks can cross country ski and snowshoe right from their camp sites to the 36 mile trail. The Hipcamper can expect privacy yet easy accessibility to the homeowner for tips and ideas to support a positive experience. Campers may be greeted and visited my friendly Bernese Mountain Dog's, Loki Bear and Levi!

Weekend Trip to Riverside Retreat and Tiny Cabin

Wonderfully warm and curated cozy cabin! It was a wet, chilly, late fall weekend and we were so comfortable in Robbin’s tiny house. Everything was just as described and we likewise had everything + more we needed. Really enjoyed the sound system and super appreciated the ample water provided. Love the added space of the lofted bed. The pull down ladder went with the overall fun, creative vibe of the spot. Would absolutely recommend and stay again!

Weekend Trip to Bent Apple Farm

We enjoyed the horse run in! The run in was clean and had everything we needed. Very much enjoyed the wood burning stove, hot tub, and fire pit. We found the dvd player, books, and record player charming. The farm is beautiful and we enjoyed the town of Londonderry. While the listed rules were a bit overwhelming, Ben and Loana were very kind and hospitable and easy to deal with (it was only surprising bc the rules had set a bit of a different tone). I would highly recommend.

The area is right in the middle of the forest which made for a fun drive and just a beautiful landscape. We got unlucky that the first night was uniquely cold and windy but the host was so great at trying to accommodate and keep us warm. She was very available and considerate. I would highly recommend this place for the scenery and the host!

Weekend Trip to Runamuk Farm

Cabin D was so sweet and charming. We watched the sunset over the field and in the morning watched the field brighten as the sun rose through the woods behind us. There was a small heater available, but we didn't use it. The cups, silverware, cloth napkins and coffee and coffee put were a perfect touch. I did bring my favorite sleeping bags (zipped together) so we were warm when we woke up to 36°F in the morning, but I am sure the blankets provided would have been just as cozy. It was so wonderful to be able to watch the world through so many windows. I will definitely be back in the future!
