The location was beautiful and wonderfully private while still being easy to get to. Mark was very friendly with just giving us a basic tour and then left us unbothered the rest of the time. The name of the place is accurate as we watched otters play our first night and saw eagles a few times as well as a lot of other wildlife.
I have put this place at the top of my list for when I need a peaceful woodsy getaway in the future. It was perfect.

My best friend and I had a lovely time at Mark’s cabin. The property is so peaceful and well-equipped to make for an stress-free stay. We enjoyed sitting by the pond with our books and making a fire with s’mores at night. There are plenty of things to do nearby; we enjoyed visiting a local coffee shop and bookstore and hiking. Thank you Mark for such a relaxing weekend and for being such a thoughtful host!
We do a mother-daughter camping trip each summer and have always done a tent at a state park in the past. This year, the forecast showed thunderstorms for our entire trip - bummer. I went searching for a cabin available for our dates and found Mark's place!
We absolutely loved our stay at Otters and Eagles Cabin! We got to enjoy a campfire, hammock, and some quiet time with nature with the bonus of amenities like real beds, electricity and running water, a kitchen equipped with everything we needed for cooking, and, of course, a roof over our heads when it rained.
I'd seen reviews raving about the outdoor shower, and it lived up to the hype. There's a long-drop outhouse, which was fine for me, but my kid was very glad to have the option of the compost toilet in the cabin.
Within a 10 min drive there was horseback riding at Cinch 'Em Up Stables (call ahead to reserve a time), mini golf and ice cream, and a Cumberland Farms for essentials.
After this experience I think I may be ready to give up sleeping on the ground and packing up a wet tent for good, and embrace Otters and Eagles Cabin as part of our annual tradition. The time I saved by not having to set up a campsite, haul firewood, and pack all the things, was well spent playing cards with my kid!

Mark’s cabin was wonderful! The kitchen is fully stocked and there is electricity and indoor potable water which made my stay very, very easy. The beds and the mattresses in the loft are comfortable (just bring pillows and comforters or sleeping bags) and the cabin itself is beautiful and cozy. The indoor dry composting toilet is convenient for not needing to go outside in the nighttime (it’s so clean and doesn’t smell at all). Additional shoutouts to the blue outhouse (view is great) and hot outdoor shower. Mark was attentive, very communicative, and kind (thank you for the extra ice!). Already planning my next stay here.
Our mother/daughter; aunt/niece weekend at Otters and Eagles Cabin was a top-tier glamping experience. We liked everything about our stay.
As someone who loves to camp and cook, I was thrilled to find that the thoughtful host provided plenty of kitchen items, making it so easy to prepare meals for our group. The cabin itself is nestled right in the beautiful woods with nature all around. We spent our mornings drinking coffee and our evenings sipping wine down by the gorgeous pond.
The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the toilet facilities were well-maintained. I had only to ask if we needed anything, like an additional propane canister for cooking, and Mark would run it down the hill himself! This level of care and comfort made the whole experience smooth, accessible, and relaxing, which was especially appreciated by my 79-year-old mom. Between relaxing by the pond, nature walks, birdwatching, gathering around the amazing outdoor stone fireplace, and having the extra option for platform tenting, the setup was flawless. There was a slope down from parking, but a cart is provided to help move your gear.
I have absolutely no criticisms of this property. We would go back anytime!

Mark’s cabin was such a relaxing retreat away from the city. It was the perfect combination of nature and your everyday essentials. We loved the proximity to water and the outdoor shower. The fire pit was amazing.

Marks cabin was exceptionally! So cozy and relaxing. The view of the lake was beautiful! It was our first time using Hipcamp and Mark definitely set the bar high. The outdoor shower was also a plus! So many different things to do, close to Massachusetts and Vermont borders. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back! Thanks for hosting us Mark!
A genuinely terrific spot in every sense. The cabin struck the perfect balance between modern comfort and timeless simplicity. The location - convenient, yet felt so remote from the outer world, truly an oasis. Mark was a lovely host, communicative and personable, yet only seemed nearby if you had a question.
Could not have asked for a better stay.
We had such a a great time at the cabin. It was perfect for my kiddos first camping experience. All the best things about camping, with the added bonus of electricity, a warm shower, comfy beds for the grownups, and not having to go out in the dark to go potty in the middle of the night. It felt really private and secluded, but it felt safe knowing Mark, a most gracious host, was not too far away if there was an emergency. We also really appreciated the fireplace off the deck as we were still able to fire-cook when it rained ...and we couldn't believe there weren't any mosquitoes.

This is a beautiful, peaceful, private spot. Mark was great! I slept in the loft and got great sleep. It felt rustic and comfortable at the same time.

My boyfriend and I had such a great time staying here! It was so peaceful and you have complete privacy blocked off by the trees which was really nice. Mark was a great host and keeps the cabin stocked with essentials in case you need something or forgot something. The heated outdoor shower right next to the cabin was really perfect after many long days of paddle boarding. We loved using the fire pit down by the little pond to make s'mores and watch the sunset. Also a lot of paddle boarding and hiking in the area, along with some waterfalls which was sick!

What a fantastic place to stay! Mark was a very welcoming, communicative, and helpful host. He made sure we had everything we needed, and the cabin was well equipped. The location was beautiful and peaceful. A great weekend away, and a great spot within an easy drive from fun things to do!

As a busy homeschooling mom, knowing this place exists as an escape has improved my outlook on life!
Tips from our late October trip:
Woman and young child friendly! My 70 year old mom, 40 year old self, and 8 year old high sensory needs son had no complaints aside from wanting to stay longer.
The walk to and from the parking spot is steep-ish. We preferred carrying most of our bags up instead of the cart. Smaller bags are better!
Don't worry about being warm inside, the wood stove is quite good at its job and easy to learn to use.
We cooked mostly on the wood stove with our cast iron from home. We used the aluminum kettle on the stove for warm water for dishes, hand washing, etc.
We got ice from the dollar general.
I wish I brought quilts + pillows instead of sleeping bags. It's clean and nothing I brought smells of wood smoke.
The provided dishes, silverware, etc are quality enamelware and ceramic.
Water from sink tasted great!
Pots and pans are non stick aside from cast iron Dutch oven. Some plastic cooking utensils but many metal.
Outhouse and indoor composting toilet had no smell and were easy to use with great views ;).
No swimming in the pond, but there is a beautiful little river on a dirt road within walking distance and minutes by car. There were deeper spots to submerge and shallow spots to wade. We saw many large crawfish and it seemed quite clean. Of course it could look different during the summer!

We couldn’t have been happier with this glamping experience. The pond was quiet and lovely, Mark is nearby but you don’t know it, but is helpful, flexible and happy to share tips on local eateries and sightseeing/hiking. The outdoor shower was the best thing ever! All in all an amazing experience and we will be recommending it to others. Thank you Mark for everything!!

Otters and Eagles Cabin
Our family had an incredible weekend staying at the cabin. My 8 and 12 year old daughters loved the loft and the hammock. We all enjoyed using the outdoor shower after a day of exploring and hiking on Mt Greylock. The cabin was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. Mark’s suggestions of Blueberry Hill Market and the Cantina were also delicious and helpful when we realized we accidentally left some food at home. We hope to return for another adventure in the future!
Mark's cabin was so special! We loved the cabin, the firepit, looking out on all the wildlife, and having the outdoor adventure we wanted while also having the convenience we needed for traveling with a toddler. Thanks so much Mark. We will be back!!!

We had a great stay at Otters and Eagles! Mark was very friendly and helpful, and the property was lovely. The cabin was super cozy, comfy beds, composting toilet is a nice addition so you don't have to go outside late at night. Really enjoyed the outdoor shower, a hot shower in the morning overlooking the property is a great way to start the day. Outhouse is clean and well-maintained. Short drive to tons of hiking spots and national parks. Definitely visit the beach at Cherry Plain state park and the peak of Mt Greylock in MA. Conveniently located in case you need to run into town for ice or grab a bite. The cabin is well stocked with all the necessities, plenty of cooking equipment, firewood, and seating. Well worth the drive to get away from the craziness and reconnect with nature. Very peaceful and serene setting, love how private it is. Perfect for a couple or a family trip. Definitely a must visit!
My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway and had a wonderful time. I loved that the kitchen was fully stocked with basic cookware, so we didn't have to pack a ton of gear. The beds were very comfortable and the cabin was clean. There's ceiling fan in there too...which was helpful on one of the humid nights that we were there. Also...I can't forget the outdoor shower! So nice!
Mark was very helpful and responsive any time we had a question. He also recommended some restaurants in the town and nearby areas to try. We went to Blueberry Hill at his suggestion and it didn't disappoint.

Mark’s cabin is great! I loved getting to have the “camping vibe” without the hassle of bringing a car full of gear. All of the equipment we could have needed was already there for us. The view is amazing and peaceful. The outdoor shower was amazing as well. I would definitely recommend.

We spent a weekend at Otters and Eagles Cabin for our daughter's 6th birthday, and we all loved it! Spacious clean cabin with water and electricity. Beautiful view of the water and the outdoor fireplace was a definite perk. The outdoor shower was a favorite of the girls.
Mark was a great host and very helpful.
Perfect quiet comfy getaway. Mark was a wonderful host and everything was simply ideal. Comfy beds, warm stove, fun and HOT outdoor shower. Beautiful serene setting.

Mark's cabin is honestly one of the nicest hipcamps/airbnbs I've stayed in. The cabin itself is beautiful, homely & comfortable, with so many nooks to relax in. Mark was very welcoming, friendly and very flexible with our stay, and gave us some great trips about the area. We saw otters AND an eagle! What a treat. :)
