We are one of the first farms in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire and was originally the first stage coach stop for the area. Our house built in 1750s and at one point had hundreds of acres passed down which were passed down from a kings grant The original area was named after the original settlers, the Browns. Our house was also tavern in the beginning. This property has only passed hands through 4 families and remained with the Browns for most of its life. It has stayed as a farm for most of its tenure. We own 40 acres of pasture and woods and would love for you to come stay!

Secluded camping!
I loved staying on Justin's land. I was on the campsite called "Deer" and the only one on the land that weekend. For this site, you can pitch your tent on a cleared out site in the woods, or in the field. Since it was fall and not too hot out, I pitched mine in the field, about 20' from the horses' pasture. It was very peaceful (I love animals but if you don't like to llamas, roosters, horses and goats nearby, book elsewhere), Justin was responsive to messages and I felt safe. I loved the option of being able to buy farm-fresh eggs and having firewood waiting for me upon arrival. It is a bit of a walk through (sometimes) tall grass from the parking to the campsites so be sure you have adequate footwear. Wildlife: crickets, owls and coyotes in the distance - and this is bear country so food needs to be stored so as to not attract bears.

A great spot for families with kids
Brown’s Ridge Family Farm is an immaculately maintained little family farm with alpacas, chickens, ducks, goats, horses, bunnies, and sheep. The weekend we were there, there was an adorable crop of little baby goats and my kids were allowed to go in and play with them which was super fun. There are 3 campsites on the far end of the pasture, spaced far enough apart that each site has some privacy. Each has its own little stretch of grass and a picnic table and fire ring as well as a shaded little clearing in the woods for a tent. At night we saw fireflies and heard crickets and peepers which was lovely. The tent sites are a 3-5 minute walk across the pastures from the parking lot. The one staff member we met was friendly, but if you’re looking for a hands-on Hipcamp experience where the farmer shows you around or swings by to chat, this isn’t it. Expect lots of space and independence!

Alpacas, ponies and sheep, oh my!
Lovely spot! There is a little walk from the cars to the campsites. A wagon would be helpful to haul supplies.

This place is wonderful! A great little site on such a charming farm! We loved getting to see the alpacas, goats, and other animals :) The 3 sites are definitely visible to each other, but they feel spaced out enough that we had privacy, but you can definitely see / hear each other! Definitely recommend this place as a great getaway spot.

It was my first time using Hipcamp. The animals at the farm were great. There were three sites near each other and each had a picnic table and fire pit. I didn't meet the host which felt a little weird since I was on their property but I guess it's because of Covid.

Relaxing stay on a beautiful farm
We loved our stay at Browns Ridge! The site makes for a really nice mix of feeling like you are camping (since the tent area is cut into the treeline) and staying right on a lovely farm (since the fire pit and picnic table are in a grassy, open area on the edge of the farm). Our 1.5 year old daughter loved running around the farm, waving hello and bye to the animals and eating fresh eggs for breakfast. While we didn't have access to showers or running water (beyond a hose), there were lots of lakes with sandy beaches that were perfect for swimming a short drive away. And it was easy to find a few of the camping/food supplies we'd left at home in the nearby town. Justin was a great host and we look forward to visiting again soon. Thank you!

Great stay!
Beautiful farm & location! Really fun to see all the animals. FYI - the sites are a bit of a walk from the parking, so a wagon/cart is helpful.

A first class traditional campsite
Justins accommodations were secluded and comfortable -- essentially a first class traditional campsite! The farm is beautiful and -- judging by the potluck -- full of joy. Highly recommend!

Like it says, camping on a farm!
This was our first Hipcamp site, though we have been camping a long time. Justin seemed like a good and hardworking guy. I had initially thought there was only one site. There are 3 camp sites and 1 night had a neighbor but still had plenty of privacy. They seem to make constant improvements to the campsites and the farm and Justin seemed interested in any suggestions to improve the experience. The farm animals are awesome and in the age of Covid19, our hosts were minful and safe. *Two tips on this site- Either be mindful of having to lug all your gear to the far side of the pasture. Its not a long hike but also is not car camping. A cart, dolly, or other wheeled form of conveyance came in helpful and effective in the given terrain. We are excited to camp under that blanket of stars again Soon! Thanks for your hospitality!

Fireflies, Horses & Alpacas, oh my!
Justin and his family were great. We saw them briefly and they were pleasant. The farm was awesome. Peaceful, quiet. The animals were great, especially that orange cat! We became buddies! Getting there was easy, the site was well kept.. I only contacted Justin through Hipcamp and email and he wasn't too responsive as we were looking for local recommendations, but we found some on our own through research. Like mentioned, the site itself it a couple minutes walk to where you are parked, so keep that in mind as you plan out what to lug down there. We would definitely consider staying here again! Thanks for having us!

Private and flexible.
The host was very communicative and flexible. Everyone on the property was friendly and we felt very comfortable. We were able to be away from other people - which wouldn’t have been possible at a crowded campsite- and in the shade which was welcome. We also tried not to wake the goats when we got back to our site after dark. Would be a great place to stay with kids. Thanks for a great place to stay!
