The Historic Farm was purchased by Townsend Thorndike from the first colonizing family to claim ownership of this unceded land, the McCrillis family. It was Town's place to get away from the busy life. As time went on and his money dwindled and plans to sell off some of the land arose.
Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. So, Nick decided to move back to the homestead to create an example of what a healthy life for the land and its inhabitants looks like. HipCamp was the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an Intentional lifestyle. One in which we hope to share our way of being that brings awareness to the natural world we have fallen so far from. Nick and his tribe of like minds are creating a holistic, educational, retreat, workshop, and event center where people can come to learn how to co-exist in a harmonious relationship with nature and each other. You'll enjoy your day-use and overnight farm stay at our tree nursery where we grow a variety of agricultural products including shrubs and trees such as pine, spruce, and hemlock. Wandering Pines is a little slice of magic in the Great North Woods of New Hampshire. Our sites range in size and privacy and offer field or wooded land. The sites are near our Small House on 5 acres but far enough away to feel private. We currently have 2 large campsites, 5 primitive walk in sites, 3 Pick your own sites, 3 park and sleep sites and 2 RV camper sites. Our hip camp sites are set up to be self sufficient. If you arrive after dark you may have a harder time finding a site. We are not always home or awake when you arrive. If our sites are booked, please message me. We have a ton of space and can accommodate you somewhere!
During the warmer months(April-Early December) all the sites have access to water and a primitive outhouse and handwashing/dishwashing station. Firewood can be purchased. Please check our extras for other items for purchase.
We have wetlands and overgrown fields so there may be bugs and other animals at any given time. Bug spray is recommended.
Although black bears are generally shy and usually avoid humans, they are opportunistic and will search for human food supplies when natural foods are not available. Maintaining a sustainable bear population in New Hampshire depends on minimizing human-bear conflicts. It is illegal to intentionally feed bears in New Hampshire. Intentional feeding can create problems within residential areas and can result in fines. It also may threaten the life of the bear, if it becomes a nuisance animal as a result of this feeding. Please keep your food in your car when you are not at the site and when you are sleeping.
The property has views of Mount Martha and the Presidential Mountain Range. There are easy walking trails throughout the property. There is a field to play games; Soccer, wiffle ball, corn hole and yard croquet can be used. Just ask
We are within 25 mins of Lancaster, Jefferson, Littleton, and Bethlehem. Small town bars, restaurants, breweries and one of a kind views of mountains, lakes, rivers and wildlife. There is hiking galore and more than enough to do for all ages.

Secluded in the wilderness, Boulder Brook Hipcamp has private tent sites right next to a babbling brook. The access road is a nice gravel .6 mile long road that is not maintained in the Winter. There is firewood for sale via Venmo right in the parking area, $6 per bundle. There is also a nice outhouse. There are 4 first come, first serve sites with tent platforms and fire pits. There is quick access to the Rockingham Recreational Trail, which is ideal for walking, mountain biking, and exploring. There is also a great swimming hole nearby called Chivers Pond. The campsites are located on the back corner of the Chivers Farm property and seasonal farm goods will be available for campers to purchase coming in 2025.

Nestled along the scenic Contoocook River—one of only two rivers in the United States that flows north—this peaceful campsite is the perfect spot to relax and explore the outdoors. We had a great short getaway trip at the Brickyard site! We loved Kevins place and Kevin! He was a wonderful host, he was great at communicating and had lots of helpful information to give us. We brought our paddle boards and it was such a convenient place to launch. The river was very peaceful and we even got to see a bald eagles nest. We loved being able to come back to our little corner of camp and we even had some grape tomatoes with our dinner from Kevins garden. It was an absolute delight. Thanks for having us!

Okay, where to even start? By far the COOLEST place I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying. The escape room aspect kept us entertained for hours even though we couldn’t figure out the last clue it was a blast, This place is magical in every way. Sacred Nectar is so welcoming and beautifully stewarded, with gorgeous open spaces and mountain views as well as wooded trails and ponds - canoeing on the pond at sunset (thank you to the resident beavers) was a highlight. Our pitch felt private and secluded and was really well laid out - there were just 2 of us but it could accommodate a much bigger group and we’d love to return with family and friends.

My boyfriend and I loved our stay here! We stayed in site 4 where we enjoyed a fire by the brook, some lounging in our hammock and a great night's sleep on the platform. The area was perfectly shaded, quiet and spacious enough for everything we needed. Also the outhouse was clean and fully stocked! We're so excited to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at Pitch Perfect at Canterbrook. We were on site #2 which is tucked away in a fully shaded site. The port a john is a short walk away maybe 300 feet. It's clean and well stocked. Each site has ample firewood for purchase.
I hammock camp and although this site has plenty of trees they're all so close together it was tough to find an adequate spot. If you're a hammock camper you will have better luck in sites 3, 4, 11, or 12.
