Winding River

We had a great short getaway trip at the Brickyard site! We loved Kevins place and Kevin! He was a wonderful host, he was great at communicating and had lots of helpful information to give us. We brought our paddle boards and it was such a convenient place to launch. The river was very peaceful and we even got to see a bald eagles nest. We loved being able to come back to our little corner of camp and we even had some grape tomatoes with our dinner from Kevins garden. It was an absolute delight. Thanks for having us!

Had a great time camping on Kevin property! We had enough space to setup a larger 4 person tent and a 1 person tent to accommodate only two people. Had some luck fishing in the river. Kevin was very welcoming and even gave us some good recommendations for what to check out in town. Can’t wait to come back!

We loved camping here! Our first Hipcamp stay, and it was a great experience. It was a beautiful place to spend our anniversary and Kevin was an amazing host! The kids loved fishing off the river and running around. Thanks Kevin!

Great camping experience

We had such a wonderful stay! The campsite was peaceful and incredibly well-maintained. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy being outdoors while still having everything we needed. The site felt private and cozy, and the surrounding scenery was beautiful. The host was friendly, welcoming, and easy to communicate with, which made the whole experience even better. You could tell he really cares about creating a great experience for his guests. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful camping getaway!

Pretty River Site

The Brickyard site was a pretty spot! It is very large with a great river view, fire pit, table, chairs, propane lantern & a privacy tent with a cedar chip toilet set up. There is a steep bank to the river directly in front of this site, but there is great access a short walk away where the kayaks/canoes are. We took our dog for swims there & I took out one of the kayaks. It is a great river for boating & wildlife watching (plenty of beavers), but I personally wouldn't swim in it (muddy bottom & very dark). Kevin is a fantastic host and very attentive. We really appreciated his offer of fresh garden tomatoes, use of the outdoor shower set up, suggestions for nearby swimming spots & all around great conversation! Just a word of clarification about the Brickyard site. It is listed as a small RV/tent camper site, but you can't really tow anything down into the site. The access is narrow. If you have a RV/trailer you will need to park in the yard at the top of the path going down the embankment to the site. We were taken aback at first because we have a jeep with an overland trailer with a rooftop tent on it and we were expecting to be able to set up down by the river, not in the yard. Although it is a pretty yard, it is close to the road with not much privacy so it would not have felt like camping. Thankfully, we had our pop-up gazebo, so we were able to set up by the river & only go up to the yard to sleep. It ended up working out great & we enjoyed our stay!

We absolutely loved camping on Kevin’s property! The site was clean and larger than expected with the perfect flat spot for your tent. It felt secluded and tucked out of the way which we loved. There was a table and plenty of chairs and he even surprised us with a cooler of champagne for our anniversary after a day kayaking on the river! We had such a great experience, Kevin is a 5 star host. I would recommend this spot to anyone!

I had a great day and night on Kevin's land. Kevin greeted me upon arrival and shared some info. about his land and the Contoocook river. He was very friendly and shared some of his tomatoes from his garden with me.

Kevin was a fantastic host and made our stay easy from start to finish. He was available whenever we needed something while still giving us plenty of privacy. His house is fairly close to the tent sites, but it never felt intrusive. Firewood was available for purchase and delivered right to the fire pit area, which was a nice convenience. The tent sites are a short walk from the parking area, so you can’t drive directly to them. Kevin made transporting our gear easy by using his four-wheeler and trailer to help. We rented both tent sites, which are separated by a shared community area with a riverside seating area, picnic table, fire pit, and a cedar wood chip toilet inside a privacy tent. There was also a solar shower available, though we didn’t use it. It’s a great spot to launch a kayak or canoe, and Kevin has both available if you don’t have your own. Our dogs were welcome too, as long as they stayed on a leash. The Contoocook River was the highlight of our stay. It’s beautiful for paddling and exploring. The riverbed near the campsites is quite mucky, so it’s not ideal for swimming there, but paddling upstream leads to some great swimming spots. Overall, we had a wonderful weekend and will definitely be back. We’d highly recommend this Hipcamp to anyone looking for a peaceful riverside getaway with a friendly, accommodating host.

Kevin was awesome! Super friendly and accommodating. The site wasn't setup for my truck and rooftop tent but he found a way to make it work on a spot just up the hill and it was perfect. He had a canoe and kayaks to use and for $10 a night, he supplied all the firewood. The 2 sites met in a common area with the fire pit and a nice spot to sit by the river and put the kayaks in the water. We will definitely be going back

We loved camping at this spot. Plenty of privacy for a quiet weekend away. It was a quick step down to the river for a refreshing swim. Kevin was a great host and was responsive to anything we needed. Will definitely be coming back again!

This was my first time using Hipcamp and I have to say it couldn’t have gone a better way than it did. Kevin was an amazing host. He made me feel comfortable and taken care of immediately. Offering recommendations of close my activities, helping us load and unload all of our belongings and making sure all our needs were met. A bonus was how beautiful the location was. Right on the water this site was very private where the tent goes with a view of the water. Spacious area with the fire pit and bathroom were amazing as well! I will be coming back!

The Best Place and Person

The view of the river flowing right through the yard. The land scape, the toilet setup and guess what guys, had a wonderful shower that Kevin made right on his property. I give a big shout out to Kevin if you ever stay overnight or night's this is the best place ever. Kevin is a great host and a genuine person all around appreciate him and his land. Take time out to get to know this great gentleman.

Kevin was really nice and super communicative. The site was great, well maintained, with a beautiful view of the river. There are also plenty of trees spaced perfectly for hammocks, and nice flat area for a tent. Just over the river there’s also quick access to groceries and places to eat. We only stayed one night, but would for sure go again and explore the area more. Lovely spot, and a great host.

Kevin was very welcoming to us, he showed us around when we got to camp. The site was very well kept. It overlooks the Contoocook River. It's a fairly secluded spot on his property. There was a nice fire pit, table, and plenty of chairs to use. The fire pit was already loaded with kindling and wood, just needed to be lit! Kevin was accommodating to us whenever we needed something. He has canoes and a row boat that can be rented. He helped us launching his rowboat into the river. This river is very calm and easy to paddle. There was already firewood at the site so we didn't have to stress about that. The little bathroom privacy tent was definitely a nice touch! The site gets a lovely view throughout the day. Perfect view of the sunset too. Thank you Kevin for being a great host and accommodating us! We'll certainly be back soon!
