This property overlooking the beautiful Connecticut river (no access to) has two cabins to choose from, one sleeps two people and the other can accommodate three. The property is such a peaceful spot! We have a rustic outhouse, and showers can be taken in the main farmhouse on the property if you would like, available Monday thru Saturday from 8am to 9am. So that means Sundays are not available or evenings. The cabin is outfitted with a comfy bed, fridge, and microwave and coffee maker. We sell firewood to sit around a cozy campfire at night and stargaze! You can even purchase a S'mores package as well! Enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings and listen to the birds. Bottled water is included as well and placed in your fridge upon arrival. Potable water also easily accessible. We will do our best to make you feel at home away from home. In a way that is never intrusive, we respect your privacy. Come and unwind with nature all around you. We are very pet friendly! And ask that all dogs are on a leash while outside. Also, pets are not to be left in the cabins unattended at any time. So, with all that said get yourself and your pets here and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning on your deck looking out to the river. I had a great stay at Ryegate. The cabin was warm and homey, a nice break from camping when the rain and cold arrived. Jessica was welcoming, communicative and responsive. She provided good information about the stay and was kind enough to let me use the shower in the farmhouse, which was much appreciated. The cabin really has all you need... shelter, a cozy bed, a microwave, fridge, and coffee station. Sitting on the front porch with coffee overlooking the river and the mountain tree line is a wonderful way to spend a peaceful morning! The cabin is decorated very cute, which is a nice bonus. Note: You need to be up for a bit of outdoor life ... like using an outhouse and washing dishes in a sink outside. It isn't primitive but it is glamping.

I had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It was adorably decorated with a cozy rustic aesthetic and felt very welcoming. The bed was super comfortable, and although there was a space heater provided, I didn’t end up needing it. The host was extremely communicative and helpful, even making sure I had a warm shower in the morning, which I really appreciated. The views of the river were beautiful—especially in the morning with the fog rolling across the water. One of my favorite parts of the stay was the animals on the property—it made the experience feel even more special. I also loved that I was able to bring my dog along with me.

Jess was an amazing host and this was by far the most comfy cozy and CLEAN place on our fall New England trip!! The pictures honestly didn’t do it justice. She really took care of all the details you might need and it was very well presented. We got showed in the morning and the hospitality was amazing. The property is very beautiful and peaceful. The cabin had a great view of the river and I enjoyed my stay. My dog was allowed which I always appreciate. Jessica brought a heater for me which was perfect for the chilly nights. I arrived at night and did not see the sink/hose for water. You do have to turn the water on and off from the house. Jessica was very responsive and I was able to meet and chat with her. There are chickens, ducks, and 2 goats but I did not hear any of them at all from the cabin.

Jessica is fantastic and you couldn’t ask for a more well kept place to spend the night. We sprung for the s’mores and firewood packages and I’d highly recommend. Lots of great, dry wood, and you couldn’t pick up the s’mores supplies cheaper yourself— made it all that much easier to have an enjoyable evening.

4 nights at Toad Hill

My partner and I stayed here for our honeymoon, we loved this yurt! It’s cozy and in such a great location for awesome hikes with great views. The property itself is really cool, and I think it’s good to note that the yurt is the ONLY site with true privacy. It’s at the end of its own dirt road whereas the other sites are either closer together or right on the roadside. Another thing, you will definitely want a 4WD vehicle with decent clearance to get there. The roads are cleared and well marked but mostly rocks and some steep parts. Overall this camp was exactly what we wanted it to be. Unfortunately the people who stayed before us did not follow the carry-in carry-out rule and left their trash behind, but we were happy to carry it out with us. The futon and bed were covered in dirt so we had to do some sweeping before we could set up bedding. This is not glamping by any means, but more so a solid place for the true nature lovers. The outhouse was great to have but I can’t lie, the giant mountain dwelling spiders that live in there are a bit scary! Again, this is a place for true nature lovers lol. A perfect place to go that has almost everything you’ll need, a shelter with a way to safely make a fire, a propane stove for cooking outdoors, some cleaning supplies, and some helpful maps. It’s a lovely bare bones mountain structure camping experience, and the perfect place to stay if you plan on hitting some trails in the white mountains.
