Wapack Trail Cabin
The cabin was lovely and secluded, with every amenity you could possibly need for a glamping getaway. Jon was an amazing host, gave us farm fresh eggs and tomatoes from his garden, and even invited us down for a cup of coffee one morning. We enjoyed walking the nearby trails with our pup and the solitude of the woods. We will definitely be back!
We had a great stay, the cabin is historical and comfortable. Jon gave us a brief tour and some lore about the land; the cabin is located a little ways past his home on a dirt road which was once a major route. He provided a metal detector that we used to uncover an old bucket and some nails along the road. Lots of old metal to be found which we did not know we would enjoy so much. Thanks again Jon! 🤘🤘
Enjoyed a peaceful stay at Wapack Trail Cabin. The cabin was clean and had everything I needed. I took a weekend getaway with my two dogs - needed to get away from the day to day AND this place was perfect. Jon was very nice and friendly, explained the amenities, the trails, weekend local activities and gave me fresh eggs from his chickens. My visit was mid-July and the temps were very comfortable, I wasn’t swarmed by bugs, most of the cabin windows have screens and the cabin has a portable fan for additional comfort. I’m just an hour away and look forward to more visits.

Fantastic getaway spot! A private, peaceful, and perfect place to unplug for a few days. The location was beautiful with great hiking trails nearby! The host, Jon, was very welcoming and incredibly responsive to questions. There is great cell service here (Verizon), a fire pit with chairs, camp stove, king sized bed, a speaker !!, pots, pans & utensils. Many games and books to play/read. Lots of outdoor equipment! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway! I will absolutely be coming back!!

The cabin was cozy, peaceful and private. Surrounded by beatiful woods and lots of cool trails nearby! Jon was very nice and welcoming, we will definitely be back! My husband and I had a very fun and relaxing weekend.

Wapack Trail Cabin
The Wapack trail cabin is great! A sweet rustic cabin stocked with many creature comforts such as: books & board games, screened windows, electricity, water cooler, camp stove for outside use, fire pit with 2 chairs, electric tea kettle, French press, table & chairs, comfy couch and king bed (also a twin mattress in loft but we didn’t use that). my group of 4 mid-age ladies were beyond content. Jon is so nice, welcoming, and generous. He gave us a dozen fresh eggs. There are lots of great walking options right from the cabin including trails and an old road. We hope to visit the Wapack Trail cabin again

Wapack Trail Cabin
Jon is a fantastic host! The cabin is very cozy and nicely equipped. We spent a rainy weekend with our dog and a 3mo baby, and Jon was super helpful: he brought us water, firewood, and even cook ware (I missed to bring mine). The bed is very comfortable, the fire stove is easy to start and it seems quite efficient! Cozy, safe and private. We’ll be back for the foliage season

Wapack Trail Cabin
Me and my GF had an amazing time, the cabin was very nice and cozy, there is dogs on the property that were very friendly and wanted to hangout with us. There was also some trails out behind the cabin that followed a small stream and we had a great time walking them with our dog. We will definitely be coming back, the campsite feels like an un-touched gem.
This cabin is something special. The property is quiet, the bed is super comfortable and Jon was an amazing host. The cabin is situated in the woods on an old road. There is a fire pit, electric kettle, tea, coffee and some paper plates, bowls, utensils, etc. Outhouse is clean. There is a 3 mile hiking/ mountain bike trail 1/4 mile from the canin. Coyotes serenaded me at night as did the gray wood frogs and barred owls. The doors open in the rear of the cabin with a huge screen that faces the forest. Everything about this place was magical. You won't find a better host than Jon. Super cool and very accommodating. If it's available, book it.
This was a great visit for my first use of hipcamp! It exceeded our expectations. Jon was very responsive to messages and helpful with getting set up for our night here. Everything was clean and cozy. The peace of the woods was wonderful. Highly recommend and we will be stopping by here the next time we're back in this area!
I had a great experience at Jon's cabin. Jon was very responsive to any messages, and gave my dog and I a very warm welcome when we arrived.
The cabin itself is clean and spacious, the bed quite comfortable, and the wood stove effective and easy to use for both cooking and heating. The final stretch of road from Jon's home to the cabin will only work for cars with good ground clearance, but if you don't have that it's a pretty short walk from the driveway. The Wapack trail is, quite literally, right outside the cabin door, along with easy walking access to several other hiking trails. My dog and I were able to complete a very fun 5 mile hike without having to drive anywhere, and it could've easily extended to another 3-5 miles for anyone with more ambitious hiking preferences.
The cabin has electricity, several options for lighting, a space heater to complement the wood stove, and plenty of little games/activities sprinkled around the cabin for you to enjoy. Though an easy walk from Jon's house, the cabin is quite private.
I'll definitely be staying here again in the future!
This cabin was great!
I’m the first to review so I will try and be thorough. 1st - the cabin is much bigger than it looks in the pictures. 2nd - the area is beautiful and quiet.
Jon (owner) greeted us and answered all our questions and told us about the area and the trails adjacent to the cabin. He and his wife have two friendly pups so be sure to say hello.
There is power, a heater, fan and a wood stove which you can cook on. We also brought a propane burner to use outside. There was a supply of plates, cups, etc for our use. There is an electric kettle and coffee, tea, etc which made the morning wake up much quicker and warmer (April) than lighting up the propane stove outside!
There were lovely flowers by the front door and so nice to see as the leaves had not budded yet.
The fire pit was nice with comfy chairs.
The back window opens for a nice cross breeze.
We spent an afternoon hiking trails from the cabin. There is a great one that follows a beautiful brook. There are miles of trails.
They supply a portable toilet if the outhouse isn’t your thing.
Only thing of note: We were able to drive to the cabin but after it rains the drive onto the property is a bit muddy (dirt road) - a low car may want to park and walk up.
The owner lives just down the road if you need anything.
Lastly - we had Verizon and AT&T cell service.
